Starsector:Invictus Lowest Lowtech Vs. the Highest Hightech. (spoilers!)

- hoo boy did this take a while. but i eventually got it. (even if I used a full skill character q.q)
the trick was Insulated Engine Assembly to let the engines survive the Realty Disruptors EMP vape cloud. from there it was just outlasting the Facets, Shards, and Aspects.
though it was not a clean fight it still was fun, in retrospect i wonder if putting the Mk IX in the rearward mounts would've been smarter though. something to ponder i guess.
'Just disable its main guns lmao' -- Alex, on designing this 10k armour demon
Between Impact Mitigation and the built-in "distributed fire control" hullmod you're dealing 1/4th the damage to those guns. Armored Weapon Mounts double those guns durability.
Also DFC+Resistant Flux Conduits+Polarized Armor cumulatively reduces EMP Damage by 81%
And the S-modded Automated Repair Unit reduces the time those guns come back online by 75%
@@logion567This is what nokia 3310 evolved into.
@@jurcik250 A worthy successor
@@jurcik250chill out, that's too much tech for the Pathers.
tech, this is covering everything in STEEL!!!@@LostCauseRT
I love how the weapon designed to be the best at disabling components still struggles against the Invictus.
Well without IEA then this ship would be suffering from permanent Flameout.
But yes even the most EMP of EMP weapons cannot keep Invictus down
On the other hand, you can drive something fast up to it's side, cut a small hole in the armor and shoot cryo blaster into it until it explodes.
@@Self-replicating_whatnot
the tach lance is the enemy of an invictus
thats and like, literally any armor breaking guns, fire hellbores at it until it dies and youll be fine
Me: Moded capitals are much better than the vanilla ones.
Starsector devs: Hold my beer....
*Starsector dev, single guy. also lol
@@hev360 They are with 4 tho.
This capital is literally a brick with engines lol
And guns, lots of guns
Ludd's Brick!
@@Loukyan It is actually Domain' brick.
Space station that got bored of waiting for shit to come to it
I love the shards ramming themselves into you for literally no reason and instantly overfluxing themselves
Have been noticing more derpy behaviour from the AI over the last patch.
It cod always pull some silly shit but flying in front lf my beam weapons and torpedos or flameing out from ramming ships seems to be more common atm.
Been playing starsector on and off for a few years and the AI feels generally more stupid to me than it used to be, no idea if that's true, just my opinion
reckless ai officers?
@@blinkyy1088Same here. I thought I was going crazy at first but the AI feels a lot less competent
@@daanstrik4293yeah phase ships esp seems stupidly reckless rn. It seems a lot of the newers modifications/weapons and maybe even tweaks from Alex have fucked them up to be a lot more idiotic in terms of decision making
Strongest tri-tach ships vs weakest ludd follower
Lowtech best tech
I have an infinite amount of respect for this ship after seeing this.
I love the fact that the Invictus just took the design for a standard capital ship and sacrificed mobility, range, and speed and every other factor for SHEER MASS AND GUNS.
It is strangely cathartic seeing these omega monsters being destroyed with museum pieces, I am not really much of a power gamer so trying to destroy them with my conquest and an onslaught was a trial. Any other fun ways to cheese these guys?
Edit: fun is important.
For something less min-maxing you can always bring a 3rd or even 4th Invictus :P
Fun fact: two onslaughts can do it too
Rule of Starsector: if 1 doesn't work, bring more. More low tech ballistic supremacy to smash their high tech over-engineered garbage like a fucking gorilla.
You can consider using Doom, and blow up all those mini Doritos when they spawn in
-Surrender human i have the High Tech!
-You underestimate my armor.
This is like watching a old nokia cellphone being driven over by a truck and the phone still works.
Low-tech best tech.
But aren't the Mjolnir cannons high-tech?
@@pishposh3306 they're elite ballistics, not high tech
@@Astareia7312 What does "Elite Ballistics" even mean.
Descriptions of the Mjolnir say it's a very advanced design. So it's a fairly high-tech *Ballistic* weapon.
*vent in combat to asset dominance*
he's just standing there... menacingly
Damm, this luddy actually becided to bring the whole church whit him...
;D
Alex just saw UAF capitals while eating coicaine is what i imagine on why invictus exist
Tried fighting these guys with two Paragons and two Astrals loaded with Trident bombers.
They melted in a few seconds.
You, the Invictus, or Schizo Doritos melted?
Invictus is the hardest non-Remnant ships we can encounter as an enemy in Starsector, when it shows up at bounties that bounty just become much harder than normal. Currently the way I use to counter Invictus is a Xyphos Legion XIV, even Invictus can't survive against the 2 salvos from cyclone reaper! Onslaught with 4 reaper also works well against it.
bro, just use an odyssey with 2 reapers mounted on the front. if you have missile racks or the missile skill you have enough firepower to bring down an invictus EASILY. the Odyssey is the best ship in the game bar none
lol a bit of a late response but i often run a aurora spiked to the brim with cryoblasters, minipulsers, shock repeaters and antimatter srm out of pure spite for those museum pieces.
For me I just separate the Invictus of it's fleet with my escort (cruisers frigates and whatnot) and jist duel it with my Paragon. Fortress can just tank the blows and when the barrage is over just tachyon lance that mofo. Rinse and repeat and you'll be done in just a minute.
Wild that the bigger ones, despite having much better speed and maneuverability, just decide to face this absolute beast head on instead of flanking and attacking from the side and rear.
Because AI do stupid things.
It's like throwing a brick at a 5th gen fighter, except that this one works, lol.
More like a boulder.
@@dustinnabil798 more like a meteor
So like a F4 Phantom against an F35 lol
@@Vaz44-4An F-4 the size of an AN 225 with 10 vulcan cannons and 200 missiles and a speed slower than a WW1 biplane
As expected.
Invictus are really strong. But also, AI are really dumb vs. Invictus. Good job!
Dorito vs brick. Money on brick
Casually magdumping 4 fixed Mjolnir hardpoints into a fighter swarm is crazy lmao. What's even crazier is that's what it takes to kill these damned things
Did you destroy them?
Yes.
What did it cost?
Every crew.
Eh "only" lost 899 in the end.
NBD
Just one trip to the Luddic worlds would fill them up with a fresh supply of zealots lol
The Luddic Path will have a field day with this
Why didn’t you use missiles? Just having locusts would have helped deal with the frigates so much. Sarisa or thunder fighters would probably have also been better.
Edit: I loved seeing mjolnir being used as PD 😂
local ship literally "too low tech to die"
This is like Nokia 3310 being run over by a truck but the truck flips over then explodes
Ludd would be proud
THE WALL OF GUNS
The invictus is genuinely terrifying for me to witness in my runs since I use a mod to make armour last longer and require complete depletion in a given sector of a ship to start doing hull damage, because it can just outlast my fleets if I don't have sufficient anti-armour. It doesn't need to kill my ships itself, it just needs to wait patiently for my ships to explode from critical malfunctions.
ah yes. 3000 crew, no big deal
Hey now I recovered *most* of them!
Only lost 899
@@logion567 Almost a size 3 colony worth of casualties...
High-Tech best tech.
You cannot tell me the pinnacle of technology is NOT the amount of pure firepower and armor on the Invictus-Class.
Therefore it must be highest tech.
Praise Ludd.
The curious thing is that `Tesseract` is just cruiser class, which faces Dreadnought quite confidently. Just imagine Battleship-class Omega, which is double the size of Tesseract.
id like to mention the sinistral that overloaded just by touching you
It coomed its robo-brains out from the sheer big pp Chad energy emanating from the Mighty Space Brick.
This reminds me of a maxed armor xiv legion with the shield shunt, just way scarier.
I'm planning to name it BSH Mk. 2
*Brick Shit House
My brother in christ it is the year of our lord 2024. you cannot be having discord sound effects in your videos.
mjolnhir in hardpiunt invictus is disgustingly powerfull
That's kinda why i like giving this thing missles for 2 heavy weapon's. Helps handle smaller threats that flank you. The swarmer is my preferred.
I was just playing with a KoL mod today, there's a Lunaria battleship there. It's smaller, faster and has only 2 large ballistic hardpoints instead of 4. And yet, when i pop LIDAR enemy fleet scatters like a flock of pidgeons and/or tries to hide behind my own Star Fortress(high tech stuffed with plasma cannons, btw).
What i'm saying is those dorito bois are very brave and/or dumb hovering in front of Invictus like that.
Fooled me with the Discord notif sound
And only with the loss of an economical 4100 crew
Praise Ludd
how does the secondary ship systems work??, there's a keybind for them?
Right click does cannister flak instead of shields (and is incompatible for shields)
@@logion567 cool, so all the non-shielded ships now have a secondary system?
okay now do it with 2 prometheus mk2s
Felt like part of the victory is because of the fragments doing stupid things such as fly right into the goddamn turret arcs.
You can't EMP it if it's operated manually now can you
That was a cheating -- having ALL skills.
Mjolnir cannons aren't the lowest tech
It won't work with anything else, though.
EMP is overpowered.
Doritos againd Big F****** Metal Brick!!
combat brooken eater 9000 as I call the new dreadnought or the battle snail
Doritos couldn’t against the armor brick
How you get this ship what is name?
Invictus, it pops up in luddic church markets
@@gamerplays5131 not really, it's extremely rare, I devoted myself to Ludd so I could get my hands on those things reliably.
I managed to get two by being jumped by a Luddic invasion fleet. Barely managed to win with two condors and like 10 ish falcons/eagles
There was an Invictus on patrol with a few frigates. I jumped it and recovered it. Faulty Automated systems. Ouch 😬
Thank god for Hull Restoration. This is also how I got my first Onslaught.
How much armour does it have?
11K AS STANDARD. foR COMARISON - ONSLAUGHT xIV HAS 2200
Your values for XIV armor and Invictus armor are both wrong. Invictus is 10,000. XIVslaught is 1850. With AWM Invictus is 11,000 but with AWM XIVslaught is 2024...
Also, the Invictus only has 10% of its armor for damage calculation. So although it has 10,000 armor points, all incoming damage is mitigated as if it only has 1,000 armor. Then at 7,000 armor, its calculated as if 700, etc...
Obviously still very tanky, but it's an important distinction.

Dorito is no match for Brick
I hate when you guys make a discord sound and then, by design, make me check my own. F*** you I hope your hole family has a nice Christmas
