I have family that live in Okeechobee Florida. My mom's sister, who was raised in north Alabama, talks like she is from up north lol. But I've heard that saying from people down there that agree with that.

While a large chunk of florida isn’t the south, UF/Gainesville is absolutely southern. I’d say Ocala is probably the last “southern” city in florida and then by the time you get to the I4 corridor it’s not southern at all

The way JP rates some of the bold predictions doesn’t always seem to add up re: “I think Ohio State having 2 1000 yard RBs could happen….lets put an 8.5 on it”. Seems more like a 5.5 if you think it’s gonna happen🤷 Love the show! The segment about Kansas schools was great.

Saddens me that we no longer play okie state, k state, and iowa state, those games were always enjoyable. With that said, im glad everyone is overlooking OU this year. Just means when we start out punching folks, everyone except OU fans will just be stunned!

Week 14 is better than Week 9 because of Mich-OSU & Texas-TAMU.
Week 11 is loaded down south featuring OU-Missouri & alabama-LSU & georgia-Ole Miss. outside the conference is FSU-ND.
I look at the NIL/ Transfer portal era differently. As a fan, i think it is more difficult for a coach now, than ever before. Not easier. I don't just see this as more avenues to get players to fill needs, but also see it as more avenues for players to leave. Being the fan of a team that realistically has always looked in from the outside of true contention, We have lost more Key players than we have found in the portal. We are not a poor school, but do not have the tradition, or deep deep pockets that some programs have. There are many schools that act as glorified tryout squads for the teams like Florida State (who bought their team last year, or Ohio State, Or Alabama, or Texas etc etc.. ) These players are recruited out of High school and if they rise up and play well, get plucked, for more $$. Recruiting now is not going and getting new players, but getting new players, and keeping the ones you have, if you can.. not to mention, then trying to pluck a few players to fill in your gaps that at the last hour can transfer... How difficult is it to game plan, when you have no idea who is going to be on the roster from summer to fall... the Portal is by far the biggest negative issue in College sports right now. Until it is either regulated, or the schools devise some way to reduce the use of the portal, the traditional product is being eroded at a pretty fast rate.....
Based on the Big 12 criteria discussion, I think Josh would enjoy the Ivy League. Once upon a Saturday at the Yale Bowl for THE GAME?? 😂😂

I could see the SEC championship game being split between either Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, or possibly New Orleans.
The Caesars Superdome is a POS stadium.
I'd put my money on New Orleans. Doubt they'd go to Texas, it would rock the boat to much. But New Orleans splits the difference and it's been a familiar and fun sugar bowl destination for SEC and the old Big12 schools for years.
Nashville is about to build the second most expensive dome in the NFL, and you think it should be in Texas? How about we stick with a central location.
@@michaelbardis I kind of have the same thoughts as yourself. I've seen alot of folks from Texas, especially Longhorn fans. That Texas is going to be the new home for the SEC office. I love their optimism, but the SEC would relocate to Atlanta before they would anywhere in Texas. It's been in Birmingham since the leagues inaugural season (1932) DYK?- Alabama won the very first SEC title (Reg seasn). Won the inaugural SEC chmp gm, and national title in 1992. Arkansas and S Carolina's debut in the league. 2012, Alabama again won the SEC, and national title, but did lose to first year program in the SEC, the Texas A&M Aggies. Missouri was also another team that had their debut in 2012. Will Alabama do the same in 2024? They have the team to do it. And I believe they will. Alabama will defeat Texas in Atlanta on Dec 7th for the SEC title, and I believe Kalen DeBoer will have a Heisman trophy winner, a national title, and COY awards, all in his first season at Bama. And it's going to piss alot of people off. And the conspiracies will be abound. Because Saban is still on payroll in Tuscaloosa. And I guarantee that there will be, if not already, people claiming Saban is still in charge. So what? What if he is? Don't mean jack! It just means Alabama is still the greatest college football program ever, and it burns their souls to know they will never be greater than the Crimson Tide. ROOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL TIDE ROLL!!!!
@@Adam-us5dv I don't think it should be in Texas. I just said it's a possibility there could be a rotation with the SEC title game between Houston, New Orleans, and Atlanta. And I bout forgot about Nashville building the new stadium. That city has been, imo. The best city to ever host the SEC basketball tournament. Even over Atlanta. So it wouldn't surprise me if Nashville happens to host an SEC title game. I ain't gone support no SEC title game in Texas for either sport that is going at the time. Just because they got some money from all that earl, doesn't mean they can just come into the league and viagra there way like they be tha boss. Nuh uhhh! Birmingham is a pile of crud when it comes to cities of the SEC. But it's still the football capital of the south.

Josh, Could Brian Kelly's seat become warm this season? Had the most explosive offense in the SEC (possibly the country), Heisman QB AND two 1st round Draft pick WRs but couldn't win ten games. Did they regress from year 1 to year 2? Did they have a harder schedule? 2024 Schedule looks primed for a double digit win season? They should be looking at chance at a natty this year...Right? Or at least in the hunt for a playoff berth. I can be the fall guy so LSU doesn't come after you. Would love your input. Sundays, Tuesday, & Thursdays, I'm plugged in
Penix played at a really high level as a QB in 2020 at Indiana (was one score from beating OSU).

Bham and Atl are the SEC corporate areas, but New Orleans was the desired final game for most of the SEC prior to 2020, Florida was a 2nd desired landings spot for bowl games, again prior to 2020.

@@dragonsurge1 People from Cincy will themselves tell you they're bandwagon Ohio State Fans.. Seeing merchandise at UC is completely different I was born and raised in Columbus, work in Cincy. Spent plenty of time competing there. Have countless friends that grew up in Columbus and went to UC. Maybe that helps you understand but possibly not. People in Cincinnati will tell you they are their own state, culturally speaking. Some ideas are below the surface level in life and require a small amount of thought.

Thanks for highlighting the geographical SEC Josh always a pleasure. I’m an OU fan who’s lived in Georgia and South Carolina and Virginia as well as my university life in Oklahoma. Quite true statements geographically Florida is not the south. It is its own thing as well as Oklahoma is its own thing shout out from Bangkok, Thailand where I currently live.

It has been said before but ***IF*** Iowa is even competent and average on offense, the defense is going to be top 2-5 (again). Absolute insane return. I believe the most tenured side of the ball amongst all teams(?). Look at the points held opponents to and the schedule. So many favorable home games. Minus a weird hiccup easily 11-1. Even then, if Jesus himself decided to bless, bye week before OSU. And OSU looking past Iowa for Oregon the next week 🤷🏻♂️. Been to the B10 championship doing nothing on offense. Even without divisions, could not even be top 2 in B10 and miss the championship, and still be ranked high enough for 3-4 B10 teams to make the CFP
I really take umbrage with your statement that florida isn't the south. The only thing that makes folks think that is bc of its rich natural resources that attract many who aren't from there. Trying telling my family that's been in Florida since the 1700sn and farming since they were emancipated in the 1800s. Florida is the south. The migrants don't redefine that!
