Important Public Service Announcement for anyone transitioning to dropper bottles for the first time. When dispensing paint from a bottle with a ball bearing shaker, keep the bottle as horizontal as possible. If you tip it up too much, the ball can block the nozzle. If this happens, don't panic, just re-shake the bottle to shift the ball out. What many people do instead is just squeeze harder and harder thinking it's a dried paint blockage they can shift with brute force. That usually winds up squirting off the whole dropper top and splurging paint everywhere.
Some people have called this a fault in the AP bottle design comparable with the spillability of GW bottles. But honestly if you just dispense the paint correctly it's never a problem.

Just throwing in some tips. Make sure it is the 2.0 Speed paints and for best results, prime white. If you like the dropper bottles, get Vallejo for non speed paints.
Regular Army Painter paints are good too. I’m a big fan of them personally and they have spray colored primers that match their bottled colors which is nice for things that are mostly one color. Just be sure to also give one quick all over coat of the same color from the bottle to ensure your washes behave the same on them and to get into any cracks your spray primer missed.

I got the same set. And I have to say the Broadsword Silver covers really well and looks like lead belcher with a nuln wash. It needs to be shaken quite vigorously but its money in the bank.

Oh man, you really need to grab a wet pallet Mordian! How in the world are you not using one already. You think dropper bottles are game changers? A wet pallet will change your life.
I’m just starting my collection (waiting for my first shipment of infantry to arrive) so this was an absolute godsend. Also, as someone who is red-green colorblind, I love how the labels have the simple descriptor names as well - really helps clear things like that up
I've been using Speedpaints frequently for the base coting of my troops. I paint at a bit more than a tabletop standard, but still find Speedpaints super useful. I just really like how they flow. Enhancing the shadows and adding highlights is super easy.

Dropper bottles are amazing. I started Warhammer this spring and still had Vallejo paints in dropperbottles laying around that I bought over 13 years ago when I painted Battletech miniatures and they were fine. None of them was dried out.

Army Painter does nice work. I grabbed the Metallics pack a couple months ago. Really like those.
Three major tips:
If it pools to much in an area (10:11), use a dry brush and dab it up quickly.
Get some Speedpaint medium, or water in a pinch, and add at least a one part medium to two or three parts paint. You can use more medium to thin the paint more for a different finish and color. If using water instead of medium, don't use more than one drop.
Wet your brush a bit before using.

Gw won't go to droppers because they love you needing to buy more. They'll only learn when people stop using their product.

100% mess around with mixing these paints for more depth and colours! My current favourite combo is crusader flesh and the purple for a cold flesh tone. Apply the purple to the deepest recesses (don't go mad) then before it's full dry, do a normal crusader flesh layer. They mix together amazingly and give an awesome tone, works extra well on the Emperor's best boys Ogryns. Great stuff mate, love seeing new videos from you pop up on my feed. Keep it up!
Laser pens are awesome for line of sight especially in tight terrain like necromunda
First off, let me give a tip of the cap to Mrs. Mordion for a well executed first mini. Secondly, as a commission painter and detail oriented painter I will say that off my first impressions that Speedpaints should be the go to paints for beginners and hobbyists just needing painted models on the table. It's not the best paints for the most detail intensive sculpts but it does have it's place in the painting world. If I were to recommend paints for beginners it would be these paints in addition to Vallejo and the citadel contrasts and washes, as well as the Two Thin Coats range. They sit in the middle ground for me, but then again painting is what I do and what I invest my time on, making models more than tabletop ready and even display level. That being said, they sit in the middle ground for me, but they have their place in the market.

Also, I hadn't seen desolate Brown from the 2.0 yet and damn I'm gonna go through soooooooo many bottles of that for WW2 Americans

I've painted about 40 krieg proxys with AP speedpaints so far. Definitely hooked
May have to check into this for kriegsmass, my mother said I won't be able to go back up until after Christmas (cause god forbid I be able to take a day off work for hobby purposes) so whilst I have almost $750 to spend on warhammer right now it seems I will have to wait until I finish the seasonal job before I can buy anything, drastically limiting the time I have for vows (depending on how much time is left when I get to go to the store I may just wait until TTC 3.0 to start off strong like last year
On the bright side waiting until after Christmas means I'll probably have $1,000+ to spent at once
Side note about dropper bottles: you can take the tip off to take paint directly from the bottle (at least on Vallejo's) and it also helps when the bottle is so low on paint you don't have the ability to squeeze any out
I approve the speed paints, their very affordable and I am still using the 1.0 versions despite the reactivation that can occur but that's ok, the weakness makes a cool strength.
I will also say yes, yes the speed paints really do help get through hoard armies as you can always go back and add little more details in the 2.0 range of speed paint later on.

Heya mate. I've started watching you recently as you've got a good solid mindset and sense of humour and all. And allow me to gift you a name for Chimeras, taken from an old Uni housemate many years ago - The 21 Gun Salute (exactly 21 shots at rapid fire range!). With regards to army painter? Their metallics. My Tyranids are my cheeky and quick army at the moment - not gonna win prizes as they're just a quick dirty drybrush scheme with a few different colours and some washes but they look damn good and are quick to put out. And yes, based on the old Kenner Bull Alien of the 90s toys range :D
You should try the slap - chop method, it takes speedpaints to another level.
Also get a fidget popper for a speedpaint pallet.
Speedpaints worked as well for more intricate Necromunda models as they did for my guardsmen.

I already primed my army Zandri dust, buuut I am going for a super muddy look, like their bases are just straight mud. Do you think this will work better for me, or would it be worth to strip the primer off and go back with white? If I stick with zandri dust, I’m going to use it for the rest of my army too
You need to try vallejo metal colours, they apply the same way and are considered the best metal paints by many painters!
20:55 backpack is upside down....i noticed right away, as i JUST printed and assembled 60 of theese guys the last 14 days. and did the EXACT same thing on the 3 first models lol
Id recomend checking out gundam metalic markers if looking for some metalic shine
yeah i bought speedpaint 2.0 for my conquest army and i am happy with them. But i am not sure if i want to use them on every project. Unfortunately the reactivation with speedpaints is a really huge problem. Even if i let the speed paint dry for several days and then use an unthinned white to correct some mistakes, the speed paint will still reactivate. Even the 2.0 ones.
Well if you love dropper bottles you should try Humbrol tinnies.

Nice video as usual Tim but not a fan of the results. I’m in the middle of painting 30 kasrkin and 40 shock troops and even for ease of use I would still rather use normal base, layer and highlight paint and do it the regular way. I want them looking good not just be done quickly
