Dude, I always thought that Master class was cheesy (and it is indeed, enemies get a lot of rubberbanding, higher HP and better stats), I remember that I had to frag rivals to start shifting the leaderboards. I loved it.
Silence is one of those tracks that is near impossible to catch up to the AI at first place because of their insane artificial speed in Master Mode. The old days of AI in racing games man.
Rubberbanding is not fair though, GX at least was hard but it was fair and in the hardest difficult you did well by mastering the controls/ship (Story mode had rubberbanding it was unfair because you had to be perfect to win most missions)

I played this game back in 1999 and it was one of my favourite N64 games but I never knew 'til this day that there was an expansion for the N64 DD system. The "new" Cups were amazing. I've never experienced a race where all 29 enemies died, even in X Cup. Nice run btw. :D
@Nintense yeah the f-zero cartridge was suppose to have all the content in it but you see it ran out of space on the cartridge and Nintendo at the time was trying too many things for the hardware at the time they ended up cancelling a lot of ideas and so the extra content was lost unless you went through the trouble to get it.

I love how exactly half of the machines were destroyed in sector beta and space plant while most were destroyed in big hand and everyone was destroyed in mute city 4
9:46 shows that F-zero is such a brutally difficult game on the higher settings that even masters who have been playing for decades and optimizing their strats and inputs make mistakes. Its one of the major reasons I love F-zero above any other racing game. I love how even watching time trial speedruns with ghosts shows that the speeds are so fucking fast that no path is truly optimal even in the WR league, only a "degree" of optimization. Every turn, twist, and bend is chaotic and different even in a WR time trial.
@@devrimgebes9317 there are Triple A machines: the Super Falcon/Stingray/Cat... but the best stats for a Machine ar A/A/E, in this game, you mostly want to use sliding strategies much more than grip strategies
The Silence theme is awesome. I would say too bad silence didn't appear in GX, but GX's sound track was kind of meh imo, at least in comparison to X, and even the SNES one in some cases (like Fire Field).
Damn I only played GX ( completed everything in that game btw ) and the music is so much better in X like holy... I really like GX and I do think the soundtrack is cool, like it fits the tracks and such but X’s soundtrack sounds so much more epic, like white land is sooo good

I think it was glitchy. i specifically remember mute city the top racer finishing around 1 07 00 and silence around 1 00 00
Not bad. I always found it amazing how master mode is literally impossible without bullshitting yourself with all these exploits. You dont have any chance at all by playing the normal way. Developers used this too seldom in games I think.
nah, dont downplay the skill needed to do that. it is true that master AI struggles on tracks with many turns but they have an unfair advantage on other tracks due to their speed boost. well on some tracks its possible when you play perfectly, on the mute city tracks for instance. but i'd say on some its impossible to win without z boost and railing.
@Koseiku, it's not impossible to beat master class without exploits, I've done it with every character no deaths no glitches no sliding. The only reason people find f-zero master class to be beyond insane, it's because you really have to change everything you know about how this series works in order to beat it.
It is in fact hard to win in Master without the exploits but really feasible. My technique was to destroy several rivals several times to compensate for my poor ranking on some tracks.@@Koseiku (didnt know the exploit at that time)
@@Sayvage pretty sure I woulda target whoever my rival was then try and place as well as I could. I was good but only in the conventional sense. I never learned drift exploits. Wish I knew about them then. Woulda been a thrill to hone that skill

Worst thing about Expansion Kit tracks is the music... except for Rainbow Road which is awesome listening MK64 Rainbow Road Metal Version, but the rest of the songs for example Big Blue 3 or Silence 3 they should had leave the original songs...
well the ones i know are Falcon, gohro and Jody summer with thier cars called Super Falcon, Super Stingray and Super Cat, those cars have all thier stats on A. I think u unlock em if u beat the game on all difficulties with these characters. iam not sure if its expansion kit only or if the original F-zero X had it aswell
I actually just slowed it down because your not the only one to mention this. I thought he still could have made it but on .25 I think what happened was that he couldn’t course correct so the only option was to boost to keep the speed up and it destroyed him

So try Twin Norita or Mighty Gazelle and set the top speed to MAX. I BARELY squeked first place by 1/4 of a second

There are tracks in the X cup like that where the CPU can't handle them, and thus all of them fall off. They're rather rare however.

I can't help but notice that the CPU die the most in this game, even though they seem to be the best CPU in the series.
There's a lot of areas where the ai can go flying off the course.

Why do they use machines with the worst grip?
because they are fast and grip is useless for someone who can control the machines well enough.
The real question is why the game developers made a physics that makes you faster when hitting the walls.

Why the worst grip? Drifting, since that makes you go FAAAAST. Why riding the walls though, that is anyone guess.
scraping the rails also speeds you up since you gain the speed from the drift and there's no friction to stop you.

E grip as in Max Acceleration and drifting
you don't need to drift (basically a bug exploit) to beat it in Master.

This is a bit late, and I'm sure you know by now, but you can. 64DD has worked in Project64 for years.

You have to keep boosting, having an A boost is really nice as well, going straight also helps.

Yeah sliding actually works wonders, but if for me I never use sliding as much, it is possible to beat this without glitches and sliding.
