  • The title track of The Caretaker's "An Empty Bliss Beyond This World" is a catchy and somewhat spooky tune, sourced from Layton & Johnstone's "The Wedding Of The Painted Doll". To fit the mood, I opted for a low-light filming environment, but it ended up getting darker than intended, as the sun began to set as I recorded. The grainy result was actually suitable for the spookiness of the song, so I stuck with it (and avoided the trouble of re-recording).

    The beginning sounds like the original tune was played on an old vintage music box. A very nostalgic, mysterious, and haunting feeling. When it gets to the “shoo the blues, no time to lose” part, it regains more of the feeling in the original AEBBTW track, most likely because of the lower pitches on both hands. You are extremely talented, and I look up to you as a pianist.

    The dark ambience is fitting for the song

    Hey, this sounds amazing!!! I always found it a bit difficult to play this in that key.

      Thank you! Yeah, the chord shapes can be pretty awkward in Ab, and it doesn't help that my piano has white and black keys weighted differently as a design compromise

      @@boredPianoAdv Wow, I didn't know they were weighted differently!
      I usually played this in the key of A. Like, it probably is possible to learn it in Ab because I mean, you did it! I think I just haven't put in the effort to do it yet.

    How’d you do the part at 0:43 I always mess it up helppp 😭😭

      @boredPianoAdv  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There's two tricky elements in play there! You have to have a relaxed right hand to play fast-ish bursts of changing chords, and familiarity with 3 on 2 rhythm that's played between the two hands a few times
