This is one of the best accidental finds I've had so far I literally told Google to tell me what the weather is. And thinking I was gonna here Temps rain and wind speed etc this plays and yet I still was not disappointed
it's like the positive, actually cathartic version of the constant up and down of social media / life. "people are dying, awe look at this kitty" vs "all is lawrence and nothing hurts for too long"
This song is super special for me. You first released it a few days after I broke up with my first ever boyfriend. We decided to remain "friends", so he was casually messaging me every now and then, commenting stuff like "Oh, the weather is crazy lately huh?" or "It's getting really cold don't you think?", trying to keep it casual and cool. But oh, how hard it is to talk about the weather - and other casualties - with someone who you're not together with, someone who you still have feelings for... Even when the sky was grey I was feeling so damn blue. Thank you for writing such great songs, Lawrence, songs that speak directly to our soul.
There's something about your music that settles deep in the core, almost a warm unease. Unease at the fact that some people can be so musically gifted and generous enough to share it with the world. I think the quarantine is making me more dramatic than usual, but figured I'd let you guys know. Lots of love, keep up the fantastic work.
@@patrickm.2793 I meant more that being locked in has led my comments to read a bit more like offbeat spoken word poetry... but I wholeheartedly agree!
I just watched this video for the nth time. I've been a choral singer for 53 years, and I know a good ensemble when I see one. Absolutely beautiful and accomplished, everyone.
I know these guys are from New York and proudly so… but lemme say as someone who’s lived right down the road from New Orleans for over fifty years…. Dr John (and a whole lotta other great local musicians) are in Heaven looking down on these young people and smilin’ from ear to ear. You give us old folks hope for the future of music…thank you 🙏❤️
when the camera goes to each pair of people. there was something so high school musical about it also love the re appearance of Linus, he should definitely feature in more of your stuff if he's up for it
I am so in love with the ensembles that Lawrence puts together for the acoustic songs. Just so much talent and training in one space. It's just sublime.
I'm so glad there are people like this who bring such beauty into the world. This song and rendition didn't exist until these fine folks came along. Thank you.
I'm at a loss for words. This song is simply amazing!!!! This song hit's me differently than most songs, and just gives me chills. Please make more heartwarming songs like this. Amazing work everyone!!
Clyde's playing is just incredible, sensational, amazing, talented. Honestly mind-blowing, his playing is so percussively funky and all so natural, with awesome little chromaticy bits in the solos and his chord voicings - God, the unbelievably PERFECT voicings - to mention but a few points of enjoyment. I idolize him as a player and try to style my playing off his. I completely look up to him for inspiration in playing piano.
After she sang "my greatest fear is that the air will never clear" 2:00 . I felt that, and I think I felt it because that was went the song became personal to her, That was the moment when she got "in". The rest was history. Whole lot of talent, sensitivity and intricate harmonies too! Really love it!
can we talk about how unbelievably skilled and talented Clyde is? Like of course his voice, but his skill on the PIANO?? my god i always rewatch the parts of these kinds of videos where there's a solo shot of him playing lol its amazing! i've had this on repeat since it came out 😍
You can see an old clip of Lawrence playing with Antwan Stanley and he's clearly impressed by Clyde's playing. If you can impress a man like Antwan who's surrounded by people who are obnoxiously good at music, you're doing something right. Clyde's musical ability is actually insane. It's fun to hear him nerd out about music theory.
Just when I thought the original couldn't get any better....this one is food for the soul. Thank you for the joy and love you spread through your incredible music! Can't wait to see you all live in New York!
Maybe that's an overstatement, there are loads of modern musicians out there who are good too. It's just often not the most popular bunch of peeps like Lawrence are, but these guys definitely deserve that popularity. I've only been listening for a day or two and wow what a find.

"Rhythm of My Heart"!! That's what's been tugging at the back corner of my mind since I first heard this. Man, it took over a year. Now I can just enjoy the song without being distracted and frustrated, *_finally_* .
For everything I’m going through right now in my life, this song literally feels like it was written for me. This is why music is so special, songs like this give me just a little bit of hope, just another small reason to just keep on living on and maybe, just maybe... one day I can be together again with the one that got away.. Gabrielle if you ever see this, today, tomorrow or in years time, just know I miss you every day, I love you, I always have and always will... until the end baby
This song makes me cry every time I hear it, even before hearing Gracie's story behind it. But even through the tears, you can tell everyone had such a great time at this session! Hearing all y'all together and making music so excitedly and with such intense passion is such a great escape right now, and thank you so very very much for sharing it.
@@TheJoKoala on her Instagram page, she described it as "a love song that you desperately don't want to write" and she further explains how she "escaped to a bathroom at some home she was staying at on tour to sing/cry the unintelligible beginnings of the song into her voicenotes". So just knowing how emotional, personal and raw it was for her to write, just underscores the beauty for me.
I’m actually speechless. I watched them open for Jon almost a year ago and now I think I love them even more than him. This actually blew my mind. There were many points in the song where my jaw just dropped, and the reprise was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen on TH-cam. I love this so much 😤
First off, this is amazing. Second, let's just all take a second to appreciate the "That's the saddest thing we know how to do to" at the end from Jordan I think 😂
Can't stop listening to this song with the fires in LA. This song will always be 🔥
With every passing year, it seems like the greater LA area will also always be 🔥
Its such a serious and emotional tone but i can't stop looking at her "They always say yee haw but never ask haw-yee" shirt
