Love when people discover Lawrence! One of my favorite things about this song is the whole thing is a play on words - They won't talk about the weather because they aren't physically together, but they're also avoiding talking about the "whether" they should be together romantically. But they don't let you in on it until near the end: "But if we're talking about weather, you and I should be together. I know I'll always be in love with you." as two distinct phrases vs "But if we're talking about whether you and I should be together, I know I'll always be in love with you." as one continuous thought.
I’m right there with you in that Lawrence is one of my favorite bands for oh so many reasons. Love the lyrics in this song w/ it’s play on words. Another fav is the song, “Don’t Lose Sight (Acoustic Version), which is absolute fire!!
I love how she said that weather is a safe subject for exes and we tend to avoid the serious talks that offer closure. Love any kind of music that has soul, and the Lawrence family is full of soul.
Love love love this group!! So much diversity in the group and the voices, it's crazy how good they all are! And yes the 3 Lawrence's are brothers and sister. Grew up in a family like this along with mom and dad singing in the church growing up in Alabama. Reminds me of home listening to these amazing voices!
This is the second video I have watched Lawrence in, and it’s because of you just like the first time. I have now decided that even though the girl is a beast with the vocals, the dude at the piano is my favorite member of the band.
Clyde is so damn impressive. That being said I just can't get over Gracie's immaculate voice and stage presence. Oh and lets not even get started on the background vocals. Sheeesshh this band really has it all doesn't it?
The band is typically an 8 piece band (Clyde and Gracie Lawrence singing, guitar bass drums and a 3 piece horn line) these live recordings have the chorus it's not typical.
Wow this was so good, I'm subscribing to them too. One of the great things about following you Nic is hearing music I would never have discovered by myself, thankyou!
I know I’m commenting on old videos, but hey, I didn’t watch reaction videos back when this came out. Now that Ren and Chinchilla and AnnanMayKantereit have me watching reaction videos, I thought I’d look to see if you reacted to Lawrence. Really happy to see you did. Love it!
I first heard about this group about 4 months ago & I had a very similar reaction as you just did. I’ve listened to so much of their other work, & I just love their unique sound & especially, their diversity !!! Clyde has some definite Sam Cook, & although Gracie is a short, white, Jewish girl, she definitely has some Aretha in her!!! Clyde and Gracie are the main headliners & then their brother Linus w/the deep bass voice, is also part of the band. For that particular song, “The Weather”, most of those people were classmates of theirs at one point from NYC, but not all of them. Definitely check out a song by them called “Don’t Lose Sight (Acoustic Version)” as it shows you even more of the insane range that Gracie has. It’s fire🔥. In other versions & on many of their other songs that they do live, the added saxophones are also amazing. I’d give you the link, but TH-cam doesn’t let me do that.🤦🏻♀️
Since you like great singers, definitely check out Lake Street Dive. Some excellent examples: th-cam.com/video/R8EhRSHq78Y/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/lcUeothSPyc/w-d-xo.html

"Baseball coach but with soul" lol. Love this band!
I love lawrence. They need to be heard by everybody. Amazing

Her vibrato is borderline percussive.

Awesome 👍
That was great
You should react to their song Limbo, vocals go crazy. Also "do you wanna do nothing with me?" is another great one off of their older album!

You would LOVEEEEE Michael Blume's music!!! (one of the background singers you pointed out!)
This song reminds me that you gotta react to Little Milton - If you Talk in Your Sleep. There is a performance on Soul Train you should peep.
Have you done Lawrence's cover of Tempted? Clyde does some sick stuff..
I subbed the last time you reacted to them

May I recommend the "It's not all about you" acoustic ft Jon Bellion by them? I love it
Second this!
You need to react to the Sean Paul cover by them
React to marsena + sync 3 worship sessions please!! I love your reactions you understand a lot! A hug from Brazil! ❤❤
The next one you need to listen to/react to is their live concert version of 'And Many More' th-cam.com/video/6mMwOtAXzdk/w-d-xo.html
I've been listening to that song for months now, and I always thought the dude was black 🤣🤣. He still is a soulful brother tho!
Hey how are you, can you do a reaction 2 Token his new freestyle he did on Funk Flex?
Much love from Amsterdam
