Just came here to say that this performance just got considered for a Grammy nomination. Congratulations to everyone involved! So well deserved
That’s great. Only Silk Sonic are in the same space as these guys.

Two pianos and a Hammond organ.

Jordan Cohen is a great bass singer and sax player, but what exactly is he doing here on his keyboard in this video? Just playing left-hand bass notes?
I’m 46 years old. Been fighting depression for the last couple years. Trying to decide if I feel like I’m worth anything. God this song has been a thing of beauty for me. Thank you, all of you for putting this song out there. It’s not a cure, but damn for at least a few minutes I feel so much better.
do some volunteering this weekend maybe. or not you can just chill that's also good
the song is empowering. self ownership. determinism. hopeful of a future full of strength and (Charlie Sheen voice) WINNING!!
I'm thankful that you wrote and connected here. You are making a difference in the world. You are valuable. (and I'm saying these things to myself because we all need to hear it; especially those prone to deep-rest-ion--> Jim Carrey or Owen Benjamin)
I've found depression to be a time of reflection where your body and brain are making it apparent that you need to reshuffle things. You are overwhelmed from being something(s) that you think that you are required to be. Required by who? The machine; the system; western culture; society...the life that we, willingly and begrudgingly, subscribe to. This will be an odd thing to say, but embrace depression when it comes around. Know that it is just a temporary re-ordering of priorities. Typically, finding myself in depression tells me that I need to self-care. Workout. Get outside. Connect with people (that's the hardest one; but the working-out gives a hormonal and body-confidence boost that you can ride on the coattails of).
I'm curious if any of this has been your experience as well? Happy Friday.
Part B. Sorry....coffee gets me blabbering.
I think that the problem with wondering if you feel like you are "worth anything" is that we think that being "worth something" has to be monumental; extravagant; big-time; attention-grabbing, etc. We live in (slaves to) a culture where TH-cam "influencers" pose in front of Lamo's, big houses, girls all around, bling, jets, etc. Yes, they have a lot of "fun coupons" (money; Wolf of Wall Street reference), but they are still slaves who serve it as their master. They are no happier than anyone else chasing "desires," or, as the Stoics call them "externals."
"If you wish to be rich, desire less"
“If you live in harmony with nature you will never be poor; if you live according to what others think, you will never be rich.” Seneca
"It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor." Seneca
"Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants." Epictetus
"You always own the option of having no opinion." Marcus Aurelius
"One does not accumulate, but eliminate. It is not daily increase; but daily decrease. The height of cultivation always runs to simplicity." Bruce Lee
“Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Shout out to your back up singers is a class move.
100%. This band is all-around incredible
And well deserved, too!
Indeed. Pure class and talent.
This was CINEMATIC.
I've been to your page. You're spectacular as well.
A person that small has no right having a voice that big!
The spirit of Janis Joplin flows through her.🔥
she has every right 🤍🤍🤍 (all love)
Came from the Microsoft Surface Pro commercial....stayed for the musicianship and VOCALS!!!! Amazing!!!
Wow. Truly Amazing Vocals.
Same!!!!
Me too!
Same. I mic on Google to find the song..loved the voice from the commercial. took me to this TH-cam video. Will be looking for their music.
Same here. Glad I searched after hearing commercial several times!
Gracie is probably one of the most talented singers out there right now. And I completely stand by that.
thank you so much!!!
@@lawrencetheband Of course, it is so true! You guys will go far
This is irrefutably true
Absolutely incredible voice
What a voice!
love Clyde's voice for verses, love gracies voice for chorus, their optimal setup imo
They had NO BUSINESS coming for me so hard in that first 45 seconds. Keep slaying yall.
Fricken beautifully done! And hectic as all heck!
The very first twenty seconds I almost turned this song off the first time I heard it. She uses weird vowels, and it's a little grating during more quiet moments. Thankfully I gave it 25 sec and realized why she was modifying her vowels so much. Now I've heard this song at least 30 times, still good.
Idk I get a good lil ego boost when someone comes for me that hard in 45 seconds
Gracie is all business
I am pretty sure going this hard is their family business
15th time so far, and still smiling like it’s the first time
MAIS OUI ON EST D'ACCORD
Guarantee I’ll be doing the same thing. I just had the experience of hearing it for first time.
Been waiting for this, thank you Lawrence.❤️
Right there with you. Gotta say I've had a few cries in a couple of 'em too, ha!
I literally can’t get enough of this song. It’s just a pure joy bringer.
Me too, I think I need another play again button👍!!
Lawrence is like a drug. You hear one song, then you need to spend several hours listening to everything possible.
I am currently deep in this rabbit hole!

SO MUCH TALENT in one video. Seriously, Melt just casually hanging out there. This is absurd. Best thing I've heard since the weather acoustic/gospel
Can't forget Tema from Couch the Band casually slaying it
Absurd is the best way to describe this video (in a good way of course haha)
It really is just absurd
Holy shit.
no u (you're right tho)
I said that to myself only to scroll down and see a man of culture said the same.
Haha--I was going to comment the same thing and saw you did. But HOLY SHIT!
Next: All trombone Don't Lose Sight? Maybe?

This song is a testament to NEVER GIVING UP. This rearrangement of the song has 5x as many views as the original version and is in consideration for a Grammy nomination. I'm the happiest person in the world watching Lawrence get all the recognition that they have been working so hard for. Congratulations Clyde, Gracie and the whole band!
Heard this in a commercial today. Couldn’t get it out of my head. Looked it up. Found this version. Now I have tickets to their show in May in Charlottesville.
This shit is magnificent.
This shit ain’t never gonna change
I looked for them too, after I heard the commercial!
Saw them in Philly in December. They are killer live. Full horn section!
That’s how I first heard the is song in the Microsoft Surface commercial and fell in love with this song and Gracie Lawrence..her voice is awesome
Same here...just beautiful!
Absolutely amazing. Gracie has pipes that rivals the best vocalists in history.
this comment made my day
He ain’t lying. One of the most slept on vocalists Eva! I’d put her up against anyone in the game right now!
"Am I good enough. Does that even matter or is it just luck" This line hit me hard. HARD. And, every second of this performance is gold. Goddamn y'all.
My favorite thing about this song is that it is arguably their most successfully mainstream song yet and the song seems to be about their inability to break into the mainstream after years of trying. lol
Isn’t it crazy how things work
I just heard it on the radio last night for the first time.
Yes. Excellent point!!!! And so many of us can relate to that frustration of not yet breaking in. Maybe that's the secret - appeal to the frustrations that we all feel - that's so universal - and then hat turns into a mainstream hit. Whereas - A song gloating about success would be such a turn-off. We all need encouragement in our aspirations!!!! Everyone, KEEP GOING! NEVER GIVE UP. Keep improving your craft, your product!
Yea u gotta jump on the sex favors train for that…how it goes
Sara Bareilles - Love Song, anyone?
I mean we all know how insane Gracie’s voice is, but let’s take a minute to appreciate how damn good Clyde’s voice is too. Dude has that built-in gritty soul kinda quality to his voice, and it sounds absolutely amazing. It just seems to be effortless for him. Hearing a voice like that coming out of a man in his 20s is already rare enough, but when you factor everything in, his performance here was every bit as good as Gracie’s. He has been blessed with an awesome voice and it’s cool to see him using it.
Like a perfect blend of Huey Lewis and Joe Cocker
His voice gives me all the nostalgia and warm hug feels of Randy Newman's "you got a friend in me"
@@krb6236 I definitely hear a lot of Randy Newman influence in his voice
He kinda reminds me of Randy Newman
I don't know if it's just me, but his voice reminds me a bit of Randy Newman.
Hearing Gracie's voice is like staring into the sun. 🤩
It's like the sun on steroids!
That studio must be fireproof. It was lit.
Lawrence: we want to do an acoustic version of this song
Studio: oh, like a chill version, yeah that’ll be great
Lawrence: that’s not what we said.
Haha! Perfect, my guy lol
Lol I bet that's exactly how the exchange went.
Hells yeah! Who said acoustic is supposed to be pianissimo?! Talk to Bireli Lagrene and his quartet!
Srsly tho
How does this only have 3 million views???
This is ridiculous. I’m a 37 yo old dad of 2, doing the dishes at 11:45 at night in lockdown (Melbourne, Australia). This was so good I debated waking up my wife to play it for her… full well knowing she’d hate me for it

As a musician I’d just like to say this is one the most incredible arrangements of an already incredible song. This group has no ceiling. Honestly could be on of the best bands in the world.

I first heard this song February of ‘22 laid up in bed going through withdrawals. Now it’s March of ‘24 and i’ll be 2 years sober.
“This shit's gonna kill me but I won't let it
And I try to give 'em hell but they don't get it
So I tell myself when I sleep at night
Don't lose sight, baby don't lose sight
And they try to give me up but I won't give in
And this life will get you down but I keep living”

God damn that felt like Gospel on steroids. redbull may give u wings, but this track can resurrect the dead. Praise the lord .
The fact that you said "gospel on steroids" as if real gospel isn't this good.... As if every single thing she did wasn't inspired by actual gospel singers....🙄 This was phenomenal and I loved it, but she is not the better version of the real thing. I can guess why you think she was better.
@@basementtunesentertainment279 sorry if it came off wrong - was no intention to imply “better” - generally in art there is no better than - “on steroids” was interpreted as better by you - I didn’t say that it was better or worse - just appreciated the energized interpretation as reflected in the track (and more than anything - who cares what i think? :-)

All the great sounds come together, very energetic and crazy.

This song has helped me so much. Dealing with anxiety especially after my grandfather just passed has been so hard. I feel like I’ve just been overthinking EVERYTHING and I always seem to lose sight of reality and my thoughts. I listen to this song (which I think was a gift from the heavens) in order to not lose sight of my life and thoughts. This song can mean different things to different people and I think that’s the beauty of it all.
I’m so sorry for your loss Annie. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and be with you and keep eternal love in your heart forever and ever ❤️
🙏
Her face hitting that higher octave... Passion for it every. Single. Time.
It must be said, Gracie is a star in this video. From the `hop over mic stand` to the `Kelly Clarkson head tilt band cue` to the `body roll look into the camera`... all in the first minute and it just keeps going... the video is loaded with a charm that seems impossibly spontaneous and choreographed at the same time (seriously, I can't tell). Her outfit and hair as well project the same effortless joy. And of this even before mentioning her vocal mastery
There's a crazy amount to love about this video, but I just wanted to shout out to sheer domination of the screen whenever the camera was on her

Edit: I come back here periodically because this song makes me feel determined, and makes me feel just absolutely electric. This song makes me feel like a horse chomping at the bit, just waiting to GO. This song makes me feel a lot of things but primarily, I just wanna GO! Where? I don’t know. Jeez even a roller coaster gives you a minute to get ready. Wild ride of a song.
Gracie doesn't treat singing just another part of her work, you can see that she enjoys every bit of her performance. I think she, eventually, fight Clyde for certain high note parts so she could sing all the high notes and demonstrate her already talented voice.
