Thanks Mel and Rebecca very entertaining you work well together! The windows look really good And yes Rebecca don’t paint them reveals pine contrasts lovely with the white. Take care you two stay safe and a big thumbs up 👍👍👍😎
@@BigVanSmallWorld - if you feed a piece of line from your strimmer behind the panel… and then pull it forward and backward like a saw it goes through the silicone and separates it quickly and easily.
Glad you have found the multi/oscillating tool; I got hold of one a few years back and it has got me out of many sticky spots, one of my favourite tools, so versatile. Good to see out and about doing what you do.
just seen an ideal campervan project for someone with mechanical skills and that doesnt mind high mileage etc its your cup of tee lol eg a vw crafter with 288k miles ex coirier van gew lights on dash etc and a few rust spots etc
Excellent, Great to see another window installation being done by you 👍 Onwards & Upwards! Good to note about the drain chambers. - Making it look easy! 😁
Hi Mel the link you’ve given for the window is actually a slightly different design to yours on the inside. Bit stumped for how to make our template so will contact the shop linked! Just thought you should know ☺️
Wow they look brilliant, I never fitted mine but watched the professional guy fit them in my van till I go home and noticed one side slight different to the other :( so my windows are wonky at the back /; I wish I had that tool when I cut mine out, I made a bit of a mess:( might have to purchase one to tidy it up as it does bug me badly. I’ve covered it up for now but soon I’ll have to make it 100% better :) becks van looking lovely ☺️ Hope your been well bud :) your extremely talented :) 🤗
@@BigVanSmallWorld guess it’s part of learning ;) the first one is the wonky one 😂 and the second one is sort of perfect, you notice it worse in the bedroom area inside more than out side, then I used the wrong tool to cut my wall out after i decided to make my bed like yours instead of long ways. Live and learn but will buy that tool and do it better during the winter lol. I was thinking two rear door windows, I got quieted £285 to £360 by some, is that expensive? Great watching your videos buddy, your a big inspiration :)
Hi Mel and Becka seen as you like using unistrut i was wondering if you could make ladders out of it for the back of the van, you might need to put a piece across the roof rack to clip into maybe make them foldable so they can fit in the back. Its just an idea I thought about the other day. I can't afford a van to try it ,so I'll just have to keep dreaming
Sounds like a great idea but I have a telescopic ladder it’s really amazing. Stay positive and focused your dreams can come true I maxed out my credit card to build my van now I’m living in it I’m paying it off rather than paying rent 👍😊👍
I've installed the same window. Mine dripped down the window too. Luckily I had Iso alcohol spray (or wipes) which instantly wipes off the bonding agent. Personally, I'd suggest not to seal over the drainage channels. Firstly, it needs to remain flush to the window. Secondly, these windows in particular have such a small frame/surface area to bond and from experience there is a tendency to put way too much sealant on and it squirts out of the frame - which would also seal over the drainage channels, if too much.
I can't say that I'm not jealous of you folks with the larger vans. I do my travelling in a Chrysler minivan. The biggest irritation is having to jump into the front seat, turn the key on then adjust the window, remove the key and climb back. There's no metal to cut into to insert a sliding window.
Weldone! You could have used the Window to draw your 4 straight lines each side then draw in the curved edges, on your Template. Saves all that measuring and marking, just 2 each side! :-)
Crystals and spooky stuff haha. Well done guys. Good job
Thank you 😊
Nice to see you working again 😜👏👏👍

Is it possible to get windows that don't need to have the ribs cut out?
Yes look for horse box windows

Dont buy use the edging strip the metal opening to the window???? do you not recommend the edging strip at all ??
I don’t use it that’s all it’s up to you if you use it or not
Why not flip it over to the inside part on window, and trace the inside curve?
Good luck with trying that there isn’t room 👍😊👍
good vid

If only I had watched this before I made the hole 😅
I have no idea where these links are?

Hey Mel, just a thought, arnt those ribs structural.. ??
No there not structureat as it a panel van thay are designed yi have bonded windows at the side off the van
