She was such a pleasure to watch. Beautiful gymnastics....elegant, fluid, and difficult. It's a shame about her knee injury, but we have TH-cam to keep her beauty alive for us to watch
This is so true. Artistic Gymnastics has changed so much.... but I love the competitions from the 80's It is really a good thing, that we have this media to cherish those great athletes from the past and enjoy their routines over and over again. 🥰😍
It really was a nice one.... but it was not a 10 either.... since she had those little steps at the end of her routine.... But she was the shooting star in 1987 and the judges were willing to continue on this fairy tale. 😎😏 There were other routines, that were stunning also.... Bo Yang, Olessia Dudnik, Tatjana Lysenko... the list is endless.... 😅
Aurelia's untimely knee injury and subsequent surgery most likely kept her from a decent shot at the 1988 Olympic AA title. The competition was fierce as it was. I was happy she was there at all. Lovely gymnast.
We didn't stand in the first line in Germany, when it came to Women's Gymnastics so I was quite surprised when the Games started and the journalists commented on her knee injury. I have to admit I felt bad for her. Although I was a 'Shoushounova Fan Boy' I was still amazed by Aurelia's beauty and performance. I am also happy, that she was still given the place on the Team to represent her country.
They showed so few back in 1987 in Germany..... the coverage of the Team Competition (Optionals) was a joke - not even 24 minutes 😨😰 .... same with the All Around - only 32 minutes. It was such a shame back then. But West Germany didn't have good gymnasts and so those competitions were not of public interest. In the event finals they only summarized the Uneven Bars Final (and other male finals).... still I held on to the tapes, because they were so precious to me. They aired at least 130 minutes there..... *sighs deeply*
Um...How is this even a 10? Didn't even stick the landing...It seems like the Romanians and Soviets always received the benefit of the doubt but this is pretty blatant.
