I’m a Classic Rock guy. My wife dragged me to see her. I’ve now seen her (3) times. She puts you in the palm of her hands and you cannot miss her endless talent. Crime of the Century was Rolling Stone Magazine not putting her on the top 200 singers of all time.
I saw Celine in Sydney in 2008. She was incredible live. She has true talent and technique that she's perfected over many years. What I love about this particular concert that you've reacted to, the DVD had two discs; the first with the concert as you just saw, the second had the same concert filmed from backstage showing all the changes, dancers preparing to leap out onto stage, the wardrobe changes, etc. The extended intro in this clip with the bride gliding across the sky was to allow Celine a final wardrobe change. The full concert (both actual show and backstage versions) is worth the watch!!

Her career was interrupted in 2022 by a battle with "stiff person syndrome", but she fought her way back and performed in the opening ceremonies at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Her voice is magical, my eyes can’t help but tear up, everytime she sings! Yes, perfect pitch…you hear it when she comes in “cold” to a song, matching the incoming instrumentals after her. Amazing.

From what I've read a long time ago, the people that are on stage are supposed to represent the victims of the Titanic. You'll see it better at the end. She did NOT want to record that song, but her late husband Rene Angelil, convinced her to do it. She did it in one take and recorded it in one take. She apparently went to see the movie but walked out in tears. Now she sings it to her late husband and says it in one of the videos where she sings that song. She is the most successful artist with both of her shows. I think Elton John is next on 3rd place. Never saw her live. I wanted to see her at her "Courage" World tour (you should check out this album - totally different) - unfortunately this never happened due to COVID and then due to her disease... Still hoping for another residency - if so I will be there for sure! For me the greatest performance of this song was at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017. Her husband passed in 2016 and I think this song had a total different meaning afterwards.

I went to a Celine Dion concert in Adelaide in the early/mid 90's (before Titanic). She was amazing; such a powerful voice.
