Sorry for your loss. Laughter is the best medicine. I've got to agree with you about comedy. Some of the funniest jokes I've ever heard are Chappelle making jokes about white people. One of the better clips is Dave Chappelle - Black people are afraid of the police. Dave's friend 'Chip' is hilarious

considering his sense of humor, he had served in the US Navy during WWII, in the Pacific Theater against the Japanese. so, when he came home from the war...
years ago he had a birthday celebration on TV with so many actors and stars appearing to tell their own stories about Don. then at the end, he got up, and you could see he needed help to move around with a cane. his physical body was all used up, but his mind and wit was still just as sharp as ever and he cut into everyone with his unique quips!

Back in Don’s day, the people that were the target of the joke were flattered to be picked on and be part of his show. No one was offended! It was all in fun and people had the brains to know such. People are so high strung they need to chill out and watch some of this stuff and realize what life was like when it was truly great and people were much more human. Keep up the great videos.

As an older guy I’m very familiar with Rickles. A number of years ago my Wife won a series of concert tickets on the radio for Casino Niagara and one of them was for Rickles. He was hilarious and he sang a couple of musical numbers and was actually pretty good. He probably had some lessons from Sinatra. Incidentally, one set of tickets was for Tony Bennett and we really enjoyed that as well. Neither concert was something we would have made a point of seeing but we were very glad we did, especially since they’ve both passed.

Don Rickles was one of the nicest, kindest people to ever set foot in Hollywood and he didn't have a racist bone in his body. He was close friends with many of those the celebrates he roasted, including being extremely close with Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. Yes, he did serve in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. If you were an known figure (entertainer, sports star, or politician) then being roasted by Rickles meant you had made to the top or were well on your way...to be ignored meant you were a has been or never will be. During his regular shows, people would slip the Maitre'd hefty "tips" to be sat where they would be a target and would tell the story of being picked on for years with pride.

Believe it or not, I read a review somewhere along the coast of Florida. There happened to be a lot of Jewish people in that area. They all had the nostalgia of thinking, Let's bring back the golden age comedians that we enjoyed when everything was tame. They brought Don Rickles. A journalist was also in the front. He was excited to see her. He said, "Hello my black daughter. What are you doing here?" Then he said, "What's your name? Opal? Sapphire?" And he made it a point to go after the WASPy (White Anglo Saxon Protestant) population of the area, and ESPECIALLY his people, old retired Jews. Supposedly I read that a good portion of them who paid for him to come over, left. One called it, "Tasteless." But for whatever reason, he was gaining strength from that and the rate of jokes tripled. Obviously, the rest were really happy.
He also had issues with some of those Indian casinos, so he'd have to wrestle them cuz Don Rickles does Don Rickles. One time, he just held on to insulting then Indians in the front, until the end of the show, and they god damn loved it! We need more people like him.

This was great, check out Gabriel Iglesias. He is one of my favorite comedians, and all of his stories are true, based on his life experiences. You might start with "The Gift Basket" or "The Road Trip" both are hilarious. Love your channel.
Sorry to hear about your grandmother, may she rest in peace.

Check out some of the clips of him on The Tonight Show. Him and Johnny Carson together is some of the best comedy in existence.

Good choice going to comedy today. And don't worry about any of us who are overly sensitive out here. You can look at it that at least they commented.

@seton hill studios - Don Rickles was an insult comedian from the 60s and 70s. No one was safe. lol He could get away stuff that you never could today.
