Great work as usual. When I purchased my 572XP the seller ( 30 years in the business ) told me that 50:1 mix ratio was a bad idea and that such a lean mix would cook the motor. I asked why would both Husky and Stihl and others stipulate 50:1 if it was detrimental to the machine? He said that it was all about European emissions controls and nothing to do with better oils or machine design. This still makes no sense because if saws are getting cooked because of 50:1 ( he told me he had had saws come back cooked after a few weeks due to lean mix ) would that not create a tsunami of warranties which would be a financial disaster. I have been using 40:1 with either Shindaiwa or Husqvarna LS+ through all my 2 cycle engines and have not experienced any problems. He actually recommended 25:1 which I consider to be essentially a smoke machine. So since then I have been using 35:1 which is as he said " better than 50:1. What do you think?
I won't argue that a little more oil isn't better. BUT, I've never seen an engine "cooked" because of 50:1. Theres always a reason for a failure and most of the time its dirt ingestion or a lean condition caused by or an air leak, not a gas/oil ratio if its 50:1 or richer and quaulity oil. I add that last part because nearby we have a little company called Mercury Marine and a lot of faithful followers. I've seen a few two cycle engines that were roached from using marine oil which wasn't designed to stand up to the high temps of an air cooled engine. I also agree that these engine manufacturers wouldn't offer five year warranties on their equipment if they knew 50:1 was going to cook them.
@@TheGreasyShopRag Thanks for the prompt reply. You pretty much confirm my thoughts. I'll go back to using 40:1 because I have so many from China that probably need that extra bit of lube. The engine on my leaf blower is twenty years old and still in great shape using 40:1 Shindaiwa. Cheers.
Great video on Chris in the woodyard chainsaw, got it up 🔝 and running 🏃♂️ for him . Little time and parts bring all chainsaw back to LIFE . TAKE CARE great videos greasy 😊.
The WHITE filter is from aliexpress. I am using the same ones. They are about 2 bucks for 10. Now switched to original blue one - because I've seen the video with the clogged micromesh in the carb that you put out. Thanks !
Thanks dude, I like my 562 & 572 but both had this same issue. I’m pretty picky with the fuel so who knows. filter looked okay wet but when dried chalk covered and clear plugged.
Good vid. Those Dink knock off filters are everywhere. Im only using the large double cotton Walbro filters from here on. They are more expensive but they never come back.
Would you happen to know which walbro filter you're refering to? A part number maybe? I'm looking to replace mine in my 572 and want to make sure I get the right one. Thanks!
That was extremely informative. Thank you Scott for another great video. I haven't had a chance to use that new spark tester like you have yet, is it helping you out.
That saw is still running. We used it today. Chris's woodyard is my back yard. Im looking for a muffler deflector for a husky 51. The exhaust is hitting on the plastic melting the brake handle.
I got my patrs in the mail. Chris is jealous that I got your sticker. Chris might bring the mac770 for you to look at for me and your more than welcome to use my name in video if you want.
That all sounds good. I was gonna mail Chris some stickers but he said it could wait till we met. For anyone else reading this and wanting a sticker...they are included free with every purchase from my ebay store. @@BertsCustomCuts

Great video on 572XP husqvarna THE GREASY SHOP RAG. 😊
Great repair, Scott. I remember Chris getting these saws. They are a fantastic chainsaw.

Chris’s trick for measuring firewood with the wire ties is the best one I have found.
I don't make fire wood but it sure does look like a simple solution. When I see stacked wood in his videos it all looks pretty even.

Thanks, and thanks for watching!
Your videos rock..Thanks for all the time you put in on making these.
Thanks for taking the time to watch!
I've changed or repaired a lot of stihl carbs, that husky look alot more complicated. Enjoy your videos!
They are like anything else. After you do a few they become easier.
It's the same working on cars. It's always nice to work on the ones that are looked after.
I'd say it was the filter too
It says a lot about the operator when the saw comes in clean.
It's nice to have the proper block off tools
