I picked this rifle up and I love it. It is super accurate very reliable and a whole lot less expensive than most 22 WMR semi automatic rifles I highly recommend this rifle to anyone who has the want and need to get one. Get it now while supplies last.
Bought one about two years a go for 186.00 . My ffl dealer is also a license gun smith so i had him cut the barrel to legal length and thread the muzzle . I run a SilencerCo sparrow suppressor with a 4x fixed tasco scope and at fifty yards i have 5 shot groups in the bullseye touching each other [bench shooting ] . Although with the ammo situation i have less than 300 rounds [ not subs ] through it no jams and no misfires . For the price i think its hard to beat .
Got mine for $249+.. Polished round the chamber, cleaned it, haven't bought a scope as of yet. I really didn't need a semi, I wanted a bolt action instead. All n all, not a bad rifle. Next time I was in the shop, I order a Rossi 17 hmr, didn't need it either, but I wanted it. It came with a Simmon scope. It was used, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I got the rifle, scope and case for just under $200... Seems like every time I go to that little town store, I always walk out with something...
I know what you mean , recently went into my favorite pawn/ gun shop. I found a,Ruger P90 45acp in near new condition with a fobus holster and 3 magazines .300 $ out the door. Another time, they had a Ruger PCC carbine, mint condition still in the box ( 659 $ regular price,, ) 404 $ out the door. I found so many bargains there , I had to slow down . A walters P22 , 125 $ used but still has the box . A rock island 45acp 1911a1 new , 365 $ . I'm interested in this Rossi 22wmr i haven't found a bargain on the them yet 😊, I have the keltec 22wmr pistol and carbine. Both are fun to take out
Great job in the cold. And for me it has to work and the Rossi proved itself. I have a couple Rossi 22 rifles and have other makers as well. The Rossi rifles are cheaper but dang they work. Gotta love that
@@rob6850 : Yes, Taurus bought them and Rossi out; and I heard from one of their employees that they also have their sights set on two other companies that manufacture budget firearms . My guess is : Hipoint and Kel Tec … although I could be wrong .
@@richardgonzales4815 & SCAR, thanks for answering me in gentlemanly fashion, sirs. I could see SCCY as a possibility too, thinking along those lines. Seems like they might be a Taurus competitor for the price range.
I bought 2 of those Rifles, one for the cab of my farm truck and one for the cab of the John Deere, they were cheap enough that I don't have to worry about them getting banged up a bit.
You do an absolutely outstanding presentation all the way. You should consider showing us how you install a ss feed ramp to your Keltec Sub2K and other aftermarket MCarbo tweaks. You’re one of the best at making things clear on the workbench.
Thanks! I really appreciate that. I don't have any aftermarket parts on my Sub2k and TH-cam hates for creators to show upgrades. They're not too keen on us showing routine maintenance sometimes either.
I bought the same Rossi 22WMR rifle to hunt hogs during small game season and absolutely love it. Bought a cheap red dot scope that I am not too impressed with so I will be upgrading to a better scope soon.
I definitely want to see more on this rifle. I'm curious to see how it does with some different ammo for reliability and accuracy. But I don't blame you for maybe waiting for better weather. A guy at work had one and he said the charging handle kept flying out when he was shooting, but other than that had no issues.
There is some sort of an issue that can occur with the charging handle retaining pin, I believe. I'd have to look deeper into it. I hope to get it, the CZ and hopefully a Savage A22 magnum out on the range at some time. Thanks for watching Chuckin'.
@Theodora Apulia Betcha you could get it zeroed with rear peep and front crosshair post sight from MidwayUSA. That’s an awesome improvement over notched open iron sights.
Got one couple days ago I like it. Yesterday got dialed in at 50 and 70 yards. At 100 yards in windy conditions, we'll I Ned to revisit. Bad news it jams every so often. So I took it out of stock to clean it a bit and inside the receiver and stock are what appears to be small fragments of brass almost dust like. I'm not to sure what to do, but will go back to local dealer and discuss. MAN! Upsetting cause I will rapid fire 4 shots at 50 in the bull😢 Great channel by the way
It should work reliably in the dead of winter or the heat of summer. So far it has been a very good rifle. It currently sports a night vision scope and is used to protect the farm from predators.
Nice review on the Rossi .22 magnum Richard, glad it cycled well for you. I have the Rossi RB22 (bolt action) and have found it's a pretty accurate shooting rifle. I've just been using the open fiber optic sights and with my special 1.25 power reading glasses seem to have pretty good luck hitting what I'm aiming at. One little problem I'm having with my RB22 is spent shell cases are randomly sticking at times in the chamber, that's with different ammo not just one brand. Not sure if Rossi has the wood stock for the automatic magnum yet, but they offer it for the RB22 LR and the bolt action Rossi magnum and the bolt action Rossi .17 calibers. I ordered the European wooden stock for my RB22 and I could not believe how much it changed the looks of the rifle. I like it a lot better.
I have the RB17 and the RS22, both seem to be very good rifles. I was really amazed at how well the RS22M performed, I do like their rifles. I think all "traditional" rifles look better in wood furniture. Thanks for watching!
Having a steel receiver and decent price point makes the rifle a winner. Mine has been flawless overall. However, if you load one round in the chamber and insert a full 10 round magazine ( 11 rounds total ) it will not cycle the second round. Mine likes 10 round magazine only - must be the liberal version. Excellent review thanks.
I am grateful that you posted this video... at the very least, I was forewarned about the frustration of (attempting) to reinstall the recoil spring! My first attempt lasted approximately 20 minutes with no success. I took a break, had a cup of coffee, and then returned to do battle. I tried to use a small screw driver and then a small allen key as a guide for the spring, near the bolt entrance, but that proved fruitless. I just monkeyed around with trying to guide the spring with my fingers, like you did and -- all of a sudden -- it just went into proper position and slid right in! Took all of two minutes! No idea what I did or didn't do this time, but it worked. If not for that spring, this would be a simple rifle to take down for cleaning. I have to wonder if Rossi uses some sort of positioning jig when they install these springs at the factory... some sort of "guide funnel" that puts that worm of a spring into correct orientation?
Lol, glad I was able to help! It is a pain but I'm sure with practice it will get easier. I don't know if the factory has any sort of tool/guide or if they just have some guy that has done it a million times. Thanks for watching!
It's a great shooting rifle for the price and there haven't been many companies that have been successful with a semi auto 22mag. I've actually found it much cheaper since I bought mine. Thanks for watching!
Like you I have both the Rossi 22LR & the Rossi 22mag. Both work and shoot great. Both are more accurate than most my other rifles in the same caliber's. The 22 mag is the darling though, paid $249. 00 for it. It's reliable & it's shoots 1"@ 100yds with Hornady 30gr v-max. The long spring is a piece of cake once you do it a time er 2. If you kink the spring the handle might pop out! I blow out with air from my compressor first, thats good enough.
I am late, however, bought this rifle 2-3 weeks ago new, and it worked fine for about 15ish rounds exact where I believe the hammer wouldn't drop; I wouldn't get a click at all when I racked the bolt back. I had it fixed where we removed the bolt lock-back system, but through the same exact rounds it wouldn't drop again, came here to see the trigger assembly and since you own the rifle as well and I haven't taken apart I wanted to ask your thoughts on this issue since I couldn't find anything online.
I couldn't say, I haven't had any issues with mine and it's hard to diagnose the problem without having it in hand. I really wish I could help you out. You could take it to a gunsmith or probably even send it back for repair. Look through your manual and see what the policy is for repairs and returns.
I put the Sightmark Wraith HD Digital Day / Night Vison IR Scope atop my Rossi RS 22 MAG and with the CCI A 22 Mag 35 Grain ammo its group one on top of the other at 50 yards.
Hello from New Zealand 🇳🇿 iv got the rossi 22mag bolt action and love it for some fun plinking, I'm looking at buying one for the price it's really the only one available here it's cheaper by a long way from any other 22mag, thanks for a great vid.
Wow rossi is stepping it up that looks like a nice firearm thanks for taking time and sharing that with us how did that deal with the Cz work out I hope they made it right for you
CZ still has the 512 in their hands, as soon as I get it back, I'll be doing an update video. Yeah, the Rossi is quite nice and performs just like it should. Thanks for watching!
That folded flag means alot to me, especially since I presented 61 of them to family or OC to give to charge. I am looking at getting a Rossi myself, checking out reviews.
Not all folded flags represent a fallen hero, it is allowable to display the flag this way when the other approved methods cannot be achieved. Since I do not have the room at my bench to display it on a staff correctly, it is acceptable to display it folded, although I do need to put it in a case. I did research the rules before placing it there. I do love my country and my flag. My only other option would be to get a much smaller flag and place it somewhere on the wall or cabinet behind me, I may do that in the future to avoid confusion. As for the Rossi, they are a great rifle for the price. Thanks for watching and thank you for your service.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Was honor to serve, but I do have question for you, I am interested in changing the barrel, would this be difficult? Again thank you for your reviews, as far as my 22 needs your channel is the best!
@@FeWolf I honestly couldn't say, I've never changed a barrel on anything but an AR. Many times manufacturers and gunsmith have specific tools for barrel changes, those tools can be specific and pricy, depending on the firearm. I wouldn't think a gunsmith would charge very much to do a barrel swap and it may be something they could do while you wait if you had the parts with you at the time.

Great demo and explanations. Can you tell us what material the trigger control group (housing) is made of? Is it aluminum or a structural plastic, or a zinc pot metal alloy? Ideally this should be made of quality steel as well. Savage and other brands have abandoned steel for trigger housings and outsourced these to China, cast from brittle pot metal. You do NOT want to drop these onto a hard concrete floor or stress them in any way. Hopefully Rossi has a better rifle in this than Savage and other brands nowadays.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview thanks and can you tell us what the trigger housing unit is made of? Hopefully it’s not cheap pot metal that Savage and others have been using around their Accu-Trigger (the pot metal housing made in China and broke on us without any reason. Cheap pot metal shouldn’t even be used to make toy cap guns. That they broke so easily has disappointed many kids.)
i love mine. i havent cleaned it in over 250 rounds and she's sticky but not jamming up yet. i'll clean it i promise just havent had time. doesn't like 30 grain maxi mags. failure to feed every two rounds. eats any brand with 40 and up grains.
I wanna hope that this firearm is as reliable if not more so than my 22 magnum handguns. My M&P 22 gets dirty with brass shavings a lot. But my XTM-22 actually runs really fuckin well. I want a rifle to go along with them but I’m torn between the only options I’ve got. Magnum Research MLR Savage A22 Kel-Tec is not making the cut. And this gun here. It’s got the best capacity. Also the best price point. I just need to know if this gun is reliable or not. But I can’t find anyone interested in the goddamn thing enough to tell me. You were hella insightful my friend and very detailed. Keep it up brother you’re killing the game!
Thanks for the comment. I haven't had any issues with the Rossi, and like you said, the price point is great. I don't think you can go wrong with it. Thanks for watching!
Grew up on the M60; bought from Service Merchandise (can I get a hell-yeah!) in 1987. Getting an RS22M this Christmas as I've wanted a "mag" for decades since. (should'a jumped on Marlin 922m when they were $400 for a never-fired). BUT as things are, really looking forward to similar M60 performance and accuracy from this Rossi. Curious... has someone done and a performance/accuracy comparo between the M60 and the .22 mag Rossi??
Yep, that would do it! I was just wondering why it fell closed when you dropped the magazine. It would be nice if it stayed open until you inserted the next magazine, sort of like most semi-auto pistols. Thanks for watching!
I do not use a Scope or Red Dot Sights and I love Iron sights! I have the Rossi RS22 and I love the Fiber Optic sights which are good for me. I'm old School in many ways but I think this Rifle should come with the fiber optic sights like the RS22!
I like open sights too but there's just something about being able to look a varmint in the eye at 100yds and know I can take care of the issue. Thanks for watching!
I wish doing this channel was the only thing I had to do, but there are a lot of other things in life that just keep on going! I'll get there, hopefully soon too! Thanks for watching!
Just recently bought one ram 70rds zero issues I got it sighted in for 100 yards accurate I had pretty good groupings. Just one question what kind of trigger does it have I looked an couldn’t find the name or kind of trigger I was wanting to know more on it so far I really like the trigger.
I have not noticed it on this one, but I have some older, worn out guns that do. Bulging at the base is definitely a chamber issue. Thanks for watching!
This is a far better design than my old simply blow back Remington 22 mag auto. Only thing I can say good about the Remington is it is very accurate. Did not like the performance of Savage it tested in 17HMR . The CZ I tested in 22 mag was a winner in every way. I need to try the Rossi. I see it uses a reliable delay blowback and flat bedding surface on reciever that is made from steel. I dont like the plastic trigger group housing, but if works I can live with it. Hope the trigger pull is good.
I guess an ultrasonic cleaner might be a little easier or, I've even heard people say they will use a can of brake cleaner from the automotive parts store followed by a blast of compressed air to remove all the shipping oil. If you don't get all of the shipping oil removed it's not the end of the world and I know some people that run them straight out of the box without doing anything to them but remember, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". I like to get real familiar with a firearm before I take it to the range, especially before filming a video on it. I did have a revolver shipped to me that had the wrong caliber barrel installed on it from the factory, without inspecting it a trip to the range could have turned out badly. It only takes a few minuets and can save a lot of grief and potential pain. Thanks for watching!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview What about just take the screws off the stock and use some Gun Scrubber spray and run action open and spray and drain and then a quick couple bursts from the mil dot spray and wipe good?
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Yep..thanks..it' s just that i had a bad experience with a replacing a buffer on a marlin tiflr..buch of parts and had to buy a uaed action..thanks
Love mine , but my first outing with it the charging handle came up missing after about 50 rounds Installed a new one , approx 100 rds more and no issues , not a single fail to fire
Technically, yes. Every screw has a torque value that is usually based in it's dimensions. I'm not sure which two screws you're referring to, but I would look it up in the manual as it could be a little different than a standard chart. Thanks for watching!
I put the spring in the bolt hole with the buffer & compress the spring into the bolt hole enough to drop the whole shebang into the receiver, let go, the spring and buffer expand back out to fit in place & you won't bend the spring.
Maybe cut up a old plastic cutting board and use the piece small enough to provide a slick temporary guide when forcing that long squirrely spring back in place or the thumb cut from a silicone oven mit?
I'm going to buy a rifle in .22 magnum for my next firearm. I've already got some revolvers chambered in .22 magnum. That .22 mag CCI ammo made with Hornady V-Max has 2200 FPS and I'd like to see what it could do to some clay pots and stuff.
I would be willing to bet come spring that riffle will shoot alot better, lol. Aint this a hoot, a cheaper rifle shoots better than a more expensive rifle. Its tempting to buy one, hmmm. Maybe down the road you can make another vid testing the accuracy with other types of ammo, like in the spring, I'm done with that cold weather snow an ice an blizzards stuff, 40 yrs of it an done, BRRRR. Thx for the vid, an braving the cold for us
I sort of want to do a 22mag, semi-auto "shootout" with a few different brands and see how they perform. Warmer weather is a MUST! Thank you for watching William!
Had a 10/22mag in the past when first came out. After 3 shots, firing pin broke. So, sold it for half the price. Been steering away from 22mag auto rifle. May get another one
Thanks for sacrificing yourself up there in the arctic. Down here in TN it was 74 on Christmas and downhill since then. Haven't seen a day in the 60's since but we are getting promises for upper 50's this week. I see you using Frog Lube. What's your opinion? I use it to coat all of the baffles on my 22 suppressors and it seems to help getting them apart and stuff doesn't seem to adhere like it use to. Thanks for taking the time. JimE
We're looking at upper 40s this coming week but it'll be back in the 20s by next weekend. I absolutely love Frog Lube, works great, stays put and doesn't cause any issues in sub-freezing temps. Thanks for taking the time to watch Jim!
I bought one took it to the range. And couldn't keep the charging handle on it. Kept popping off. And it grouped decent at 50yrds but at 100yrds it was like a 5 inch group. Came home and took it to the pawn shop. Only put about 40 rounds through it.
Nice video and nice channel! Rimfires are lot of fun, I mean, love to shoot my 44 Mag, but its so much cheaaper to shoot 22 lr specialy these days ! Soon as I can I'll by this Rossi in 22 Mag. Greetings from Brazil Richard!
CZ is the only company making a WMR Semi-Auto rifle with sights installed stock. I'm an iron-sights guy. I know about the Keltec PMR 30 but it is carbine length. I wonder what it would cost to put iron sight on the Rossi?
I pretty sure it's removeable, but unless it's absolutely necessary, I'd advise against it. I don't know if it's threaded or pinned and they often require a special barrel wrench to remove. Sometimes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a really good rule to live by. Thanks for watching!
I have an old 22 magnum Ruger single action handgun handed down to me. I never had any problems with it, so kind of disagree e in beginning of video. But it's definitely not the type to conceal and carry since many better options out there for that, but it's a fun shooter and probably fun and a challenge to use for some of the small game hunting. But have the Rossi 44 magnum rifle. People told me not to buy it because it's made in Brazil. Its 1 of my favorite guns. But guess very few things made in Ameria anymore.
If you're talking about the beginning of the video where I talk about reliability, I was referring to semi autos. The 22mag is excellent in revolvers and bolt actions, but has been a problem in semi autos in the past. I have a Rossi R92 in .38/.357 that has been a great shooter. I have a few other Rossi products that have been good reliable guns. Thanks for watching!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Again, Rossi 92 think its 1 of the best, and excellent rifle, overall but only 2 things I don't care for on the 92 is the loading gate, wished it was longer loading gate like on the Winchester 94 and Marlin 336. For me I am kind of a taller person, but the other thing is ok for a teenager or a shorter adult, but for me wished the wood stock was a little bit longer. On my 92 I added a recoil pad on the stock, now it fits me perfect. But thinking about getting another Rossi, thinking on getting 1 of their handguns. What's your views on the Rossi or Tauris handguns?
Thank you for the video. I have a RS22M and i like it. It shoots nice groups . But it does not seem to like flat nose ammo as much as the round noise. Have you had any problems like that?
Never $hoot aguila ammo in these rifles case bulging and possible rupture could acure great rifles tho we don't know there longevity yet I bought 2 of them both shot great and only 22mag. On market that's reliable in 22m semi autos good videos
I am happy your rossi worked well . As did mine . For the first 10 rounds . 🙄 Not so much after that. FTF after FTF . At least 2 rnds per mag were a FTF . I would like to feed it back to rossi in the exit ramp ! 😒
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview my spectrum does the same thing. I've lubed it up and tinkered with it but it will still ftf even with a fresh magazine on occasion. Love the feel of it but I wouldn't trust it to shoot anything more than the first round.
I had same problem . Here it is at 2:21am and just put it back together 🙄 we shall see what happens . Last chance for this rifle to do like it should or rossi will have to re-adopt and retrain it !
Mine runs anything I feed it. 30 40 45 50 grain. Hollow ballistic tip round nose. It don't care. It just works. Much better than my 600 dollar keltec cmr30.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview is not picky anymore. I did the m*carbo mods and now eats what ever I feed it except for Winchester 45gr white box. They seem longer and don't fit in the magazine correctly.
People call Rossi "cheap," but they've been around for ages and they work very well!!!! What's wrong with that??? If you want to spend tons of money on "fancy" guns, hey go for it, but IMHO, nothing wrong with Rossi. To have fun and enjoy.
The Rossi seems to be an excellent .22 mag rimfire. For me .22s are mostly for target shooting and training. I look upon a .22 mag for hunting under circumstances where a .22 long rifle is insufficient. So ammo cost is a little too much for me training or target shooting. .
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview I took it apart and realized it would go back in without taking it apart. If you notice the trimmed corner ( same side as the notch) you just angel it and push and it snaps right in. Your video was great. I was able to take it apart and put it back together just from watching your video, although I have to brag, I got the pin and spring in place first try. Thanks
The delayed blowback system gives the larger volume of powder in the .22 mag case just a little more time (milliseconds) to complete it's burn before ejecting the case. If the case starts to eject too soon, you can have case rupturing right in your face. You'd think they would just "scale" up a .22lr action but it just doesn't work like that. Thanks for watching!
That's a good answer.. I had 2 remington 597 22 mag and they said sent'em back. They had no problems, ever, but that blow back was causing problems - as it was said. I got 2 marlin bolt 22 mag in return and swear I'll never buy remington again. I still have 1 597 from my Dad and a ruger 10/22 mag. I'll just have to hope they'll be safe and good because what they're making today isn't near as nice.
Never understood why a rifle would have a hold open, if it doesn't keep the bolt held open once the mag drops out. Maybe just so the operator can visually verify chamber is clear and the firearm is safe, but why not just keep it captured then 🤷. Out of curiosity, could one hold the bolt lock before taking out the mag and it actually captures and holds the bolt ?!, just a question cause I wonder if that could work that way, guess that would depend on position / where the lock meets the bolt.
At a very minimum, you should at least clean the bore to ensure they're are no obstructions. I have taken them right out of the box and to the range before, but the best practice is to get to know the firearm. Cleaning the factory preservation oil and any debris left by the manufacturing process is always a good practice. Applying a good gun lubricant can be the start of a long working relationship with your new firearm. Thanks for watching!
Looking to pick up a CZ 457, but not sure if I want a LR or the Magnum version. The range I use is a 100 yd. range, so I'm shooting at 50 and maxing out at 100 yds. What's your opinion on accuracy on LR or Mag.?
The Magnum should shoot a little flatter but there's a pretty good bit of difference in the price of the rounds. Me personally, I like .22 Magnum in a rimfire but I like .17hmr even better. Thanks for watching!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview I agree with you on the 17HMR. I have a Ruger American compact with Williams Globe sights, and that's one of my favorite rifles. I'm thinking that with the plethora of different 22LR ammo and the cost of the the Magnum ammo I may be better off with the 22LR. I'm not too sure if the accuracy of the magnum ammo is that much better then the 22LR for the cost. THANKS!
@@tomhoffman9729 You could always get both!! Lol. Not a bad choice either way but if you're only punching holes in paper, a magnum is a little costlier without the added benefit.

I’ve tried several gunsmiths. Even several Rossi dealers. They also have to send it in. What’s stupid is they will sell the firing pin for the 22lr rifle. It's not always about "needs"! Lol. I like Rossi guns, I have a couple and they're all good shooters. Thanks for watching!
Gotta love that
I got a Rossi Rio Bravo 22lr in lever action, it's basically a Red Rider BB gun,,,,,,,, don't shoot your eye out. Rossi is great value for the money.

They're making them affordable too. Thanks for watching!
Oh is Heritage the same group?

I could see SCCY as a possibility too, thinking along those lines. Seems like they might be a Taurus competitor for the price range.
I bought 2 of those Rifles, one for the cab of my farm truck and one for the cab of the John Deere, they were cheap enough that I don't have to worry about them getting banged up a bit.
I don't believe I could agree more. They're pretty reliable too! Thanks for watching!
I've bought a couple different red dots over the years but I really don't care for them too much, the Rossi I like! Thanks for watching!

47 would be really nice right about now! Have fun lead slinging. I'll do my best, thanks for watching Joshua!
I like that he mentioned oiling the rifle up. I’m a firm believer in plenty of oil after every cleaning, I just wouldn’t feel right without doing that
The two worst enemies of any firearm are politicians and rust. Taking care of the rust is easy, the politicians, not so much! Thanks for watching!
@Theodora Apulia
Betcha you could get it zeroed with rear peep and front crosshair post sight from MidwayUSA. That’s an awesome improvement over notched open iron sights.
I acknowledge your difficulty working with springs. I find if ya curl your tongue and place it just so against the cheek works wonders.
Lol, that could have been it! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Yes it's always important to get your mouth twisted in the right position tounge locked in place and have precise timing
MAN! Upsetting cause I will rapid fire 4 shots at 50 in the bull😢
Great channel by the way
I hope you get it all worked out. It's a pretty good rifle for the money. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching too!
Rossi RS22 for $99 at Murdochs in Parker, Colorado in 2019. Great shooter and quite accurate with the Fiber Optic sights.
I couldn't agree more. Thanks for watching!
Being that cold out I'd say that's a winner!!
That is Exactly the information I was looking for, I agree that functionality overrides asthetics, but I hate plastic fantastic guns, PERIOD
Lol! Only 10, and not a single round more! I haven't had any issues with mine either. Thanks for watching!
22 Magnum is fun, I hadnt heard of this rifle to be honest, it looks nice.
It's a great shooting rifle for the price and there haven't been many companies that have been successful with a semi auto 22mag. I've actually found it much cheaper since I bought mine. Thanks for watching!
It is a very interesting design that uses a flapper delayed blowback action which I believe is key to it's reliability.
Could very well be. Definitely better than direct blowback. Thanks for watching!
Like you I have both the Rossi 22LR & the Rossi 22mag. Both work and shoot great. Both are more accurate than most my other rifles in the same caliber's. The 22 mag is the darling though, paid $249. 00 for it. It's reliable &
it's shoots 1"@ 100yds with Hornady 30gr v-max. The long spring is a piece of cake once you do it a time er 2. If you kink the spring the handle might pop out! I blow out with air from my compressor first, thats good enough.
I agree, Rossi did it right. Thanks for watching!

The items they obviously planted during their search of his home failed the forensic tests. For the CD they claimed was stolen to have zero fingerprints and be as they said, in his possession for 20 years is illogical and impossible. That this CD came through the always rigorous customs inspections undetected doesn’t hold water either.

The receiver is made of steel. @3:27 I stuck a magnet to it. Thanks for watching.

Just recently bought one ram 70rds zero issues I got it sighted in for 100 yards accurate I had pretty good groupings. Just one question what kind of trigger does it have I looked an couldn’t find the name or kind of trigger I was wanting to know more on it so far I really like the trigger.
As far as I know, it's just the Rossi factory trigger.
have you noticed your brass casings bulging at the base? Another reviewer noticed it and surmised the chamber wasn't properly supporting the round.
The Rossi is great in my opinion, especially for the price. I had issues with my CZ. I had to send it back. Thanks for watching!
Hello..great video..Is there an easier way to get off all or most of the shipping oil? And is it a must to do so?

Hello Richard, is there a certain torque inch/lbs to tighten the two set screws back to when putting it back together sir?

I put the spring in the bolt hole with the buffer & compress the spring into the bolt hole enough to drop the whole shebang into the receiver, let go, the spring and buffer expand back out to fit in place & you won't bend the spring.
I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for watching!
Maybe cut up a old plastic cutting board and use the piece small enough to provide a slick temporary guide when forcing that long squirrely spring back in place or the thumb cut from a silicone oven mit?

I bought one took it to the range. And couldn't keep the charging handle on it. Kept popping off. And it grouped decent at 50yrds but at 100yrds it was like a 5 inch group. Came home and took it to the pawn shop. Only put about 40 rounds through it.
I've heard others mention the charging handle issue. Sometimes accuracy can be an ammo issue.

I don't know. I kind of like scopes, especially as I get older. Thanks for watching!
I have it broke down as far as you do in the video but I’m wondering if you can take the barrel completely off? Do you know if you can
I pretty sure it's removeable, but unless it's absolutely necessary, I'd advise against it.

But have the Rossi 44 magnum rifle. People told me not to buy it because it's made in Brazil. Its 1 of my favorite guns. But guess very few things made in Ameria anymore.
If you're talking about the beginning of the video where I talk about reliability, I was referring to semi autos.
Not yet. I'll be doing another video on it soon to test accuracy and reliability. I hope you subscribe and thanks for watching.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview i did. and i will be looking for the video.
I like the Rossi my bro has one and I’m thinking I might purchase one as I have revolvers that chamber the same ammo
Always a good idea to have several firearms in the same caliber. Thanks for watching!
I'm happy with the one I bought
I can understand why. Thanks for watching!
I love this type of gun, I want to have one of these rossi rs22m but it is not available in my country philippines
Can you get the RB22M?
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview it is not also available here.
@@RaulPaclay I'm sorry to hear that.
Never $hoot aguila ammo in these rifles case bulging and possible rupture could acure great rifles tho we don't know there longevity yet I bought 2 of them both shot great and only 22mag. On market that's reliable in 22m semi autos good videos
I hear the Savage A22magnum is pretty reliable too.
I like mine too, aguila is a little hot in several rifles , I use them in my lever rifles.
good night friend, the rail of this rifle is 22 millimeters?
I believe it's 20mm if I'm not mistaken, but what's 2mm between friends? Lol Thanks for watching!
Obrigado amigo 🤝
@@djosepimatheus8002 Você é muito bem-vindo!
I am happy your rossi worked well . As did mine . For the first 10 rounds . 🙄 Not so much after that. FTF after FTF . At least 2 rnds per mag were a FTF . I would like to feed it back to rossi in the exit ramp ! 😒
Oh wow. Sounds a lot like my Spectrum! Thanks for watching.
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview my spectrum does the same thing. I've lubed it up and tinkered with it but it will still ftf even with a fresh magazine on occasion. Love the feel of it but I wouldn't trust it to shoot anything more than the first round.
@@mikeofmanymikes2630 I agree.
I had same problem . Here it is at 2:21am and just put it back together 🙄 we shall see what happens . Last chance for this rifle to do like it should or rossi will have to re-adopt and retrain it !
With both of my Rossi 22m semi auto rifles only problems I've had is on my first rifle the 5th round of first mag I shot thru it I got a stove pipe
That sounds like it could have been a ammo issue, every once in a while you'll get one that's loaded a little light.
Mine runs anything I feed it. 30 40 45 50 grain. Hollow ballistic tip round nose. It don't care. It just works. Much better than my 600 dollar keltec cmr30.
The CMR is a very picky eater!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview is not picky anymore. I did the m*carbo mods and now eats what ever I feed it except for Winchester 45gr white box. They seem longer and don't fit in the magazine correctly.
@@jeffmalone7524 I've heard good things about all of M*Carbo's products.
Where do you live for it to get that cold, near the Canadian border?
Lol, not too far from it!
Great video nice gun
Thanks! I'll be checking out the Savage A22magnum soon, we'll see how it compares.
People call Rossi "cheap," but they've been around for ages and they work very well!!!! What's wrong with that??? If you want to spend tons of money on "fancy" guns, hey go for it, but IMHO, nothing wrong with Rossi. To have fun and enjoy.
I agree, I have several Rossi's and I enjoy all of them. Thanks for watching!
The Rossi seems to be an excellent .22 mag rimfire. For me .22s are mostly for target shooting and training. I look upon a .22 mag for hunting under circumstances where a .22 long rifle is insufficient. So ammo cost is a little too much for me training or target shooting. .
I do agree with you. There are more hunting options available in .22mag also. Thanks for watching!
Bought one of these and ran a couple of clips and the charging handle fell out. Any videos on putting it back in?
I believe if you disassemble it just like you're cleaning it, you should be able to put it right back in.
Thanks
@@TimFlebbe Great information, now I know what to do if it happens to mine! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching too!
I’m sold , I’m about to order one .
I think you're going to like it! Out of the 3 semi auto .22mag rifles I own, this one carries the best bang for the buck! Thanks for watching!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview it was a great video. Thanks for doing it.
@@appallokelley3207 Thank you for watching it!
I just bought both RS22 and RS22 mag rifles. How does delayed blowback help a .22 mag cycle vs direct blowback with .22 LR?
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Thank you!
@@zabbadimbweebwee3522 You are welcome! Thank you for watching!
Put the spring in with the receiver in a clear plastic bag so if anything goes flying, it will be contained insode the bag.
Not a bad idea. Thanks for watching!
I also wonder the same thing. Next time I have it out on the Range, I'll give the bolt hold thing a try. Thanks for watching!
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview
For one thing it keeps you from accidentally "dry firing" after the mag has ran out.
@@tomt373 yes, it will do that.
Yes, you just press the tab by the trigger and the bolt stays locked back, load up the mag slap it in.
Thanks
Thank you!
I am thinking you have gotten your CZ back a while ago. I was wondering if in your opinion it shoots $270 better than this Rossi?
No, I don't think it does. It looks a lot better than the Rossi, and the quality is better, but not by that much! Thanks for watching!
A year later how’s the RS22 working?
I've probably only ran it a few more times since making the video, but I haven't had any issues with it.
Thy, lovely weather
Maybe for a Polar Bear, but not for this guy! Lol. Thanks for watching!
The magazine's are a bit hard to get you gotta buy up when they make them. Wish they made a 30 round magazine.
I haven't really looked for any extras, but it would be nice to have a couple. Thanks for watching!
If I buy a new gun I have to take it all apart clean it and reoil it?
@@SmallCaliberArmsReview My wallet would say OUCH!!
Maybe do the Rossi and the CZ?? Hmmmmm.
Greetings from Alaska. Hope you didn't lose any fingers. Thanks for roughing the cold and giving us another great video.
The hands were in my pockets in between shots! Thank you for watching!
NO 25 round mags for this firearm have worked for me, only 10 rounders and that's a bummer.
I feel 10 rounders are enough for this rifle, after a few of them it starts to get pricey. I wouldn't be against a 200 round drum if it ran really smooth though! And fully auto! Lol. Thanks for watching!
Even several Rossi dealers. They also have to send it in. What’s stupid is they will sell the firing pin for the 22lr rifle. I even tried to have a guy that has equipment to make one, but he won’t because of legal liability. I’ve moved on and bought a Savage 22 mag. It’s far superior and is a tack driver. Thanks for the reply.
I'm sorry to hear that. The Savage is a very nice rifle, I hope you enjoy it.
