Can't believe the number of commenters here who are defending Allen. He was her mother's partner for 13 years, so even if Soon-yi was 21 when the affair started and that's highly debatable, that means that he was in her life, was the father of several of siblings and her mother's boyfriend from the time she was 7 or 8 years old. Completely objectionable behaviour for a man. I don't see how anybody can defend him.

Why didn’t the filmmakers call out Mia for lying at the end of episode 1? She said when she found the pictures she went home and found Soon Yi and told her and they cried and she told her it wasn’t her fault. Her friend said Mia was very forgiving. During the custody battle Mia very famously (and very easily verifiable) testified that she “pounced” on Soon Yi, kicking the phone she was talking on into her leg and punching her. Why, not only include, but punctuate the entire episode with something we know isn’t true? How much research did they even bother putting in to this?

      Very odd
In The current climate people coming forward with allegations are to be believed and allowed support. BUT we don’t ignore evidence, we don’t simply accept any allegation however unsupported and disproven it is.
It’s seems to me that people have always disliked WA marriage to SoonYi. And he himself says he accepts that, but it’s no different to Mia and Sinatra except their marriage is close to 30 yrs strong and MF and FS lasted only a year. If WA looked like Clooney nobody would care
I don’t care for WA, don’t like his films much etc. But this is obvious nonsense

And the mere fact that he could've lost his position, relevance, and acceptance is tremendously telling. I knew Dylan was telling the truth the minute I heard the 1st couple of sentences coming out of her mouth and the awkwardness in her physical appearance when talking about these encounters and events. Grooming starts early it pushes the boundaries early to where it no longer has a boundary and the shame is real. The offender never feels like they do wrong. They never accept responsibility. It is always a child who has been rejected by a parent especially a father. It becomes normal until they see it somewhere that is a normal household and then the light goes on. If Farrow had accepted her adult daughter's relationship with Allen, here is how things might look today. 1. Farrow would have a relationship with her daughter, Soon-Yi, and Soon-Yi's two young adult children, her grand-daughters. Instead, the adoptive parent, Farrow, severed her profound responsibility to her adopted daughter, a young woman who had already experienced the loss of her birth mother. 2. Soon-Yi's and Moses' relationships with their siblings, Dylan and Ronan, would be intact today. Soon-Yi's and Moses' children would know their cousins and their aunt and uncle. Farrow is responsible for creating these painful estrangements, and the fact that several of these children are adoptees for whom loss is even more devastating than usual is especially cruel. 3. Dylan would be a happy woman with an intact family; instead, as a result of Farrow's coaching, Dylan is psychologically damaged and estranged from a parent and siblings.
Imagine yourself being cleared of a serious wrong-doing by two of the leading investigative agencies into the wrong you were alleged to have committed. Imagine how social media and profit-obsessed Hollywood moguls would keep the scandal alive. Does anyone think that an adoption agency would have allowed Allen and his wife to adopt two children if there were the slightest hint of truth in these allegations? Does anyone give a moment's pause to consider how Allen's two young adult daughters are affected by the smear campaign against their father? You think this is nothing? Nancy Sinatra complained that her children were affected by Farrow' claim that Frank Sinatra may be Ronan's father. Appreciate how the media can damage the innocent.
I, like other adoption professionals, admired Farrow in the 1970s and 80s when she campaigned for international adoption. That respect and esteem fell away because of the many clear evidences of her failure to give her children the safety every child deserves. It was alarming that, at a whim, Farrow would change the names of her children as though they were pets to whom a name--the essence of one's identity--belonged to someone else. At one time Dylan was called Malone. Until Farrow changed it to Eliza. Until Farrow changed it back to Dylan. Imagine not knowing who you are.
Farrow broke the vows she made to her adopted children, to love and protect them always, to put them first always. If the truth were as titillating as scandal, this pile-up of tragedies would never have happened. Dylan has brought no civil suit against Allen, why? The overwhelming evidence that no abuse took place would deprive her of her raison d'etre. Her adoptive mother took so much away from her. Who can blame Dylan from clinging to the mythology that gives her meaning?

And Dylan's not telling her own story. She's reading news articles from 1997 and court documents. She probably doesn't remember anything.

None of the Farrows wanted to talk and then everyone did. And they were reluctant and they also bring this up every couple of years. Are the filmmakers either deluded or dumb or something I don't understand right now?
