    These things can also be used for turning off natural gas valves. You can use arduino gas sensors to activate them. Everyone using propane/natural gas should install them. I have a natural gas well and have used it for everything in my house for almost 20 years but I use a linear actuator. This should work ok too.

    I love this. I am doing a entire landscape irrigation project based off 16 hose bibs....yes, ball valve hose bibs. This would be great if it could be paired with a irrigation controller. Want to donate 16 to my project and I can share on TH-cam?

      I used the Flowtech battery powered valve until it was discontinued. It worked pretty good. Now aqua line have a simple flow irrigation valve. I’ve been installing irrigation systems since 1999. Question. Why would you come off 16 hose bibs ? Just plumb out one source off a 3/4” line from inside the basement.

    • @EcoNetControls
      @EcoNetControls  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Valve Robot is a Z-Wave Smart Home devices that requires a separate controller. We like the Samsung SmartThings controller. The controller allows you to add automation including automatic shut off when a leak is detected (add water sensors), notifications to smart phone and smart phone control of valve robot. Why not just buy a motorized ball or solenoid valve?

    • @EcoNetControls
      @EcoNetControls  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alex Acuna many home automation diy types do not want to tackle the plumbing required to install a motorized ball valve. No plumbing is required and you don't have to deal with the city/municipality to shut off the water main. If you are happy doing the plumbing then a motorized type is a good solution. We will be introducing a new version that has an integrated ball valve.

    • @EcoNetControls

      In a quick check of the Broadlink RM Pro controller, it does not look like it supports the Z-Wave Smart Home standard. Our devices use the Z-Wave communications protocol. So I guess the answer is no.

    No reset function? The water sensor will detect a small leak then makes this valve shut off. water dries. Then the valve opens again.

    • @EcoNetControls
      @EcoNetControls  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, typically, depending on controller configuration, human intervention is required to turn the water back on after a leak alert. See our Bulldog Valve Robot in action at: th-cam.com/video/_4uo3wmzZl0/w-d-xo.html

    Solenoid valve is better option and very cheap compared to this

    • @EcoNetControls
      @EcoNetControls  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can not install a solenoid valve over an existing ball valve. If you want to pay a plumber or do the plumbing yourself, yes a Solenoid valve is less expensive although solenoid valves are less reliable and more subject to failure because of the very hard on and off action. Also, see the latest version of the Valve Robot at: th-cam.com/video/_4uo3wmzZl0/w-d-xo.html
