I have a natural gas well and have used it for everything in my house for almost 20 years but I use a linear actuator. This should work ok too.

I used the Flowtech battery powered valve until it was discontinued. It worked pretty good. Now aqua line have a simple flow irrigation valve. I’ve been installing irrigation systems since 1999. Question. Why would you come off 16 hose bibs ? Just plumb out one source off a 3/4” line from inside the basement.

You can not install a solenoid valve over an existing ball valve. If you want to pay a plumber or do the plumbing yourself, yes a Solenoid valve is less expensive although solenoid valves are less reliable and more subject to failure because of the very hard on and off action. No reset function? The water sensor will detect a small leak then makes this valve shut off. water dries. Then the valve opens again.
