Protecting Your Thermostat from Static Electricity

A number of thermostats may become damaged due to static electricity. Sometimes the screen scrambles temporarily, but sometimes the static electricity causes irreversible damage. Simply ground yourself before touching your thermostat to prevent any damage.

This literally just happened to me so I looked up this video. And I got in trouble for messing up the thermostat lol. Thankfully it’s back to normal now.

Anyone know how to reset the screen if it doesn't return to the normal screen after shocked by static electricity?
