    Happy New Year Chris and Cindy. For comparison , Just went on a longer trip with my Mach e. It was great used Bluecruse most of the drive, It’s wonderful too. Had a lonely road so I tried to find the top speed in whisper got to 169km In about 7 seconds I had to slow down, but it wanted to keep going. In unbridled it’s a lot crazier. I haven’t found a spot to test it to the limit. Have fun with the iD7!

    When the TravelAssist does that waking brake, it also pulls the seat belt right after the brake, so it really shakes you.

    Hi. Great video. It looks like that your steeringwheel is a little of center to the left (wheel alignment) All CUPRA Borns that I have driven has that aswell and It gets a little more when Travel Assist is actived.
    Have you noticed?
    How about captivity sensor when driving with one hand on 9-10 o'clock? Have you noticed any dropout. I have it all the time and also after replaced steeringwheel on a CUPRA Born with SW3.2

    So, does travel assist detect that your hand is touching the steering wheel without requiring you to apply torque for it to recognize your hand is on it?

  • @oijhhytdirhrbru
    @oijhhytdirhrbru 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This excellent steering feeling is based on a pretty low-end hardware, that the steering machining on MEB cars is actually single-pinion based EPS, which is not only far away from the premium steering machining forms like RD(Rack-Directdrive)-EPS and RP(Rack-Parallel)-EPS, but also lower than the dual-pinion EPS commonly seen at a D-segment car.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Still feels amazing, better than in most cars

    • @oijhhytdirhrbru
      @oijhhytdirhrbru 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BatteryLife It is just so brilliant, no other brands can achieve this. At first I was shocked to see the news about the single pinion EPS, but it turned out to be doing very well.

    One thing that irritates me about my ID.3 and which seems to be fixed in your ID.7 is that I always have to manually switch from ACC to speed limiter every time I want to use it. The Golf I had before remembered unless I hadn't used it for a month or so.

      @bjornmu 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BatteryLife You don't notice the problem if you use ACC since that's the default. But if you want to use speed limiter *instead* then you have to click, swipe, click to change mode every time you start the car.

    What about the learning part of lane assist connected to cloud? It may learn the proper trace of country roads. Does it work?

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is not about that.
      If the street is narrow, it will pull you towards the middle.
      This is the case on all cars I have tested.
      I don't like that, turned off.
      You don't need it to be cloud based, it sees where the road is.

    Nice video. Does the travel assist aplies automatically the speed it reads on signals or do you have to manually force it ? in my ID3 it was automatic

    • @PenFriends
      @PenFriends หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s semi automatic. Initially you set the travel assist to your current speed, then when it reads the signs it’ll adjust to that speed limit. But travel assist is more about lane entering

    The lack of one-pedal driving is a gaff by VW. If the worry about traction in the snow was the problem then it could have been made unavailable in Snow mode or otherwise like MG4 available only by choice each trip. So big regen gains opportunity missed out by VW

    So,
    Do are you happy with the car so far, but please be honest?
    I am asking because of the range thing.
    And also, do you think the range would have been better in your test with heatpump?

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you watch all my videos with this car, you will notice I love it.

      A bit less range because of no heatpump is fine with me.

    • @poxer1
      @poxer1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @BatteryLife great. Thanks.
      I was asking about the heatpump because I think Munro or someone else I watched, found out that VW heatpumps are way less efficient compared to Tesla's. And sometimes they don't make much of a difference. I am not sure if that would be the case with id7 of of course, so that is why I asked.

    • @souxoux1671

      @@poxer1it for sure makes a difference if you live in a primarily cold country. A coworker of mine has an ID3 without heat pump and even when driving economically in cold weather his avg consumption is higher by more than just a small margin than my ID4 with heat pump.

    Really nice car - but I feel like these VW cars will date very quickly in terms of tech and UX/UI. Like every other electric car, majority are overpriced and lose so much money, far too much to insure due to repairs and the infrastructure just isn’t there.
    This should’ve launched as an ID car model - but this and the `vow camper are already outdated.
