MICRO CAMPER VAN TOUR - beautiful Vauxhall Combo minimalist campervan conversion

- This is a quick tour of my micro camper which I named Flick, it's a 2016 Vauxhall Combo 1.6 L2H1 campervan conversion. I built this in Spring 2021, and have loved having a miniature hotel room in the back of my daily drive.
I fitted a pull-out bench seat that makes an almost double bed, and a cabinet for storage and my tiny sink.

I would go CRAZY in that dark cave. There aren't any windows...not even in the back doors. Love your 💧 water setup. I love my cassette toilet too. I don't know how people live without one.
I was worried about this but after using it was absolutely fine, It's only dark when it's dark outside - there's plenty of light from the cab as the bulkhead has been removed. When I built it I was obsessed with being super stealthy so I didn't fit them but I don't really care about that now. Yeah I've never understood how anyone can not have a loo on board! 😅 Or people that have one but supposedly never use it unless it's an emergency - why not use it? That's what it's made for 😂
leil: Yes, it's the first thing I have done : put windows in the rear doors ‼️ And yes absolutely agree about the loo - I have the same one 👍👍

It does what it says on the tin. A normal daily car and somewhere to put your head down when you want. I imagine the new van is more camper and less car.

Hi Jodie, loving the simple build it's great & a daily driver sort of thing i'm looking to do, but looks like you could do with taking a little off the bed legs to give you more head room lol happy travels :)
I know! And I wish I could, but the wheel arches are right below, so I'd have to redesign the bed and it would ultimately lose width, and also my coolbox (already one of the shorter ones on the market) wouldn't fit beneath. It's just the nature of a small van tbh, but I forgot to mention that the coolbox makes an excellent stool using the passenger seat as a backrest 👍

Very nice van. I have a transit connect which is not much bigger, But may I suggest that you reduce your seat height by 4 or 5 inches. You do look a little cramped when you sit on your seat. Nice build though. Nice fabrics and colours, Easy living, and good luck in the future, I hope you have many enjoyable times away from city life.
Thank you :) I have considered lowering the seat, but then I'd lose half a foot of bed width, and the space below becomes too shallow for many of the essentials I keep underneath. The coolbox is the perfect height as a stool though 😁
@@vanventureswithjodie That 'Contact paper' looks so real. May consider getting some for my cupboard doors. Did you get it on line or do you know anywhere that stocks it? Your van is so much like mine in the respect that it is so quick to change from day van to overnight stay. Another thing you should consider is having a 240v connection fitted. This cost me very little and has proved to be a game changer. Not just for the rare time I would stay on a camp site, but being able to plug in on a friends driveway overnight and charge both my leisure battery and engine battery at the same time. I think it would be a great add to your camper if you should ever need it. Good luck and subscribed. Chris.

And there's no need for a hook-up when you don't have any electrics ;)
The only power I need on a trip in Flick is light (a USB rechargeable camping lamp) and my phone, and I just pack a beefy charging brick to keep them topped up. If I wanted more power, I'd get a Jackery or something like that. The new van is having the full works though :D
@@vanventureswithjodie You seem to have had it all worked out Jodie. I sometimes wished I'd planned a similar method. I always seem to be checking on my charge too often and it hassles me that it's forever on my mind. Can't wait to see this new van. Hope it goes good for you, and thank you for the link. What have you put underneath your vinyl floor? Have you ply of some sort on top of insulation?
Hiya! In this van there was a really dense and high quality ply flooring already installed, so I just removed the hardware and added the vinyl. No added insulation because it's already such a limited vertical space, but the ply itself does add some insulation which is often forgotten about.

Hiya, I ordered custom cut foam from Foam Cuts for this van, but they changed their delivery options soon after so I used Foam2Home in the next one, who also offer memory foam toppings - highly recommend that option!

nope. but fiat use the same model for their van
I know it's minimalistic, but it is not a camper. That's a van with foldable bet in it. Nothing else.
