    Bought this gun a year ago after seeing this video. Finally had a car worth trying a new gun on. I was very impressed with it. Thank you.

    Wow. Great video thanks. I struggled between Astro’s Euro Pro HE and the EVOT-13. Went with the EVOT-13 as it takes less CFM. It’s been an amazing spray gun.

    Hi, what’s the difference between the 1.3 mm and the 1.5 mm and what would you say is the minimum compressor size needed. Thanks for the great video!!

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 1.5 is better for thicker materials like primer. 1.3 is good for base coat or clear. Some guys like to use a 1.4 for clearcoat but I prefer a 1.3 for most guns. Appreciate the support! Hope this helps.

    i just got mine! Ordered it 4 months ago they were back ordered. excited to use it. Did you change your settings when you started to spray clear? My spec sheet states 29 psi, I was wondering if you bumped the pressure when you shot clear? I usually bump mine on other guns about 3 psi.

    • @GarageNoise

      Cool , I don't recall if I changed the pressure. I tend to shoot with the lowest pressure I can to control overspray. Let me know how you like it.

    Can I use a small compressor for this spray gun?
    Also I have an R500 is this spray gun better?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, this gun is not for small compressors you need at least 10 cfm's. R 500 is the best gun for small compressors, this astro gun is great a bit better in finish but r500 is better for air consumption, material savings

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically yes, it will probably be starved for air at times and you may have to let the compressor catch up. I do have a recommendation for paint guns for smaller air compressors. The Eastwood lt100 or the sprayit 33000 paint guns all operate with only 3.25 cfm and they work great for small compressors without sacrificing spray ability. First, thank you for this video on this gun. HF is good on upholstery foam glue! I been an ASE Master Tech since 1978, but painted a dozen vehicles and a buddies fishing boat. But forced into early retirement 11 years ago, I will spent money like a good Clear with 3-4 “UV” additives. Doing a complete restoration on a 1967 C10 heavily modified thanks to my son’s black ice experience in a 2003 Tahoe.
    I read your info below the video but couldn’t tell if Solvent based / Water based and going for this gun. Epoxy sealer, mocked filler, sealer (All SPI) products but AkzelNoble color.
    My question was your opinion on the gun, especially the air cap on plastic cup. I would use 3M PPS hard cup/disposable to shoot upside down and no drips on top. (PU part of my childhood as I bought used one for $150 at 13).
    Reading below, I was clueless on “Wet Base” but it was used for blending. I won’t have this with entire inside, behind cab, front of bed, assemble, back tape, got 3/4” backer rod to cover gaps & jambs. Top white onto window frames, rest is light metallic brown, finished with SPI universal clear. Thanks for the video & work that goes into edit, moving camera, it’s all work. Thanks for that. I am subscribed sometime ago and hit like! Stay safe.

      I appreciate the comment and kind words good to hear this video is helpful. Creating content is alot of work that I enjoy. This gun can be used for solvent paint or water borne paint. I love the gun and am uploading a video now that will be released later today on the eruro pro hvot13 another gun by astro pneumatic. You should definitely watch that video. I would use the 3m cup system for sure. Thanks for watching!

      Hate to bother, but the water/oil filter “Orange Ball” used as a final device to provide clear air is not listed in comments. I do appreciate the links to the products but somewhat weird to find the correct words to search for. They are sold by HF, but other brands are most likely better. What is your suggestion? Thanks again as learning is creating best practices, you are the teacher by example. Bless you!

    How do you blend the dry edge of the new clear coat to the old clear on the roof edge?

    • @GarageNoise
      @GarageNoise  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wet sand the blend area with 1000 or 1500 . 6-8 inches past where your going to blend clear. Spray your clear then I spray a little reducer on the blend line (small amount) when it dries buff blend lightly away from blend not into blend. Don't try and buff it perfect. They have blending products you can use instead of reducer like melt away but I perfer to use reducer. Stay tuned for a video on how to do a smart blend. Not the correct way to do a repair but can be useful in certain situations. Thank's for watching!

      I think it would be starved for air. Your compressor should put out at least 13 cfm's at 40 psi to have no fluctuations in air pressure. You can use this gun with less but you may stuggle to have consistent performance. If you want to use a small compressor, astro makes a mini gun that consumes less air. Although you wouldn't want to paint an entire car with it. Thank's for watching I hope this helps.
