I Have 15 year Old Labs that are brothers and only 2 in final litter of legends . One Black One Brown ... I be been using this for about three weeks now

Name of cough syrup? Who makes it and is it available where? I did the honey and drops pure lemon juice I leave in her drinking water. I really believe she knows this helps her when she goes into coughing episodes. I also use honey/lemon for my copd (ex smoker) . along with other herbs. Keep up the good work Dr.
Hi my 13yr old Poodle over the past two winters in NZ has started this dry cough, it looks like she is trying to bring something up but there is nothing. She lives in a non smoking house and environmentally friendly home. Renee's hearing has diminished over the past few years but can hear high pitched noises which now give her a fright. Her eye's are getting the milky look but can still manage to watch TV and see any cats or dogs that appear on TV and bark to her delight.
The coughing only happens when she has run after her ball which she still has a lot of energy to do but only a few times now and gets to her ball and stops to have the cough, picks up the ball and returns but ducks off into the house and coughs some more. I have had Poodles since I was 8 yrs and not come across this before. The first Poodle I had was in OZ and she lived to a great age of 19yrs I have lost Renee's older non biological sister Satine over 3 yrs ago now, due to medical complications.
Renee still has a lot of spirit, life and love to give I would like to make her remaining years comfortable but would like to be able to do it naturally I have tried the Collapsed Trachea test but no cough I am thinking Asthma but your advice would be great and what I can give her naturally

Just bought this on Amazon as my 16 year-old Yorkie has a collapsed trachea and it is getting worse (she went to the vet yesterday since she had a sudden flare-up and was coughing non-stop). The vet did prescribed some meds but I always prefer natural remedies for the long-run. Thanks so much Doc. I'm going to give this a try!

@@upnclouds7428 It didn't work my Yorkie. I think it actually made it worse so I went back to Dr. Jones' concoction (honey + sleeping elm) which works very effective in controlling her cough.

Omg I was so close to giving it to her it scared me so bad. So glad i read it first.

Hi Dr Jones Thanks for your remedies and ur free book. So helpful during our lockdowns in the UK as Bill my Yorkie always seems to come down with something during them. If anyone can answer this I'll be grateful: I'm using Vet Wothy Kennel Cough Droplets for my dog, and it's very hard to put the drops in her mouth. Does it work the same if I put the drops on food, or must it be ingested directly through the mouth/tongue?

i had to take my 9 year old shihtzu to the vet for coughing and runny nose, tried the lemon and honey it didn;t work, she put him on clavaseptin 62.5 mg 2 tablets 2 times a day for 5 days, it didnt work, he is now on azithromycin 100mg orally once a day, it has helped alot but he is still coughing some, and he wants to sleep all the time,he gets up to pee and i have been hand feeding him, that's not new though, he was always a picky eater and i always hand fed him, the vet is telling me i should try lung worm treatment, which i will do tomorrow,if that doesn't work, i am at my wits end, i have no ideas left on how to help him, i am so very worried about him, i love him dearly and want him to get better, what are your thoughts please answer
My Jack Russell has chronic bronchitis. He uses a Flixotide puffer now. He was on prednisone for a couple of years but I have weaned him off that. This would be a good option for his cough?

Of course but only after diagnosis since there may be other issues such as HW or CHF in addition to TC or bacterial&viratical diseases. Most of the time , we get mistaken whether we shall use a decongestant, exosperant or cough suppresants which even can make things worse if the mucus shall be cleared . Therefore, first diagnosis than conventional or any herbal, natural remedies. I am in Istanbul at the moment and cannot find mullein since the exosperant is not suggested to be used for more than 10 days. I have honey. Not hanuka but claimed to be organic. However, after I have learned 3 years ago that it may cause paralysis , I am reluctant to use it. I found a study by a british vet on it . Since than, I am paranoid......

You could try using the Suro cough syrup, that’s what I use for my 12 year old Shih Tzu with his collapsing trachea. I’m also working on weight loss with him too. So often a collapsing trachea is diagnosed in older, small breeds who have a tendency to be obese or overweight.

My senior dog has been wheezing on and off and started having dry cough . Does the suro help for wheezing too ( I think he has congestion) . The vet prescribed hydroxyzine that helps stop the wheezing but made him drank a lot of water so discontinued . I started giving raw honey and 2 x a day seem help his wheezing but I don’t know for how long .

Oh wow thanks for this info. My dog Billie Holiday has been having a cough for years (likely collapsed trachea) that has progressively gotten worse. Especially after she drinks. Lots of Vet visits and many meds later, last week she given Theophylline, which doesn’t prevent the cough, just makes the cough less severe. Hoping to stop it completely. I just bought the Pulsatilla you suggested on a another video but need to know if I can give her the Pulsatilla with the Theophylline. I will definitely try this syrup too.

Dr Jones thank you so much for responding to my question on the cruciate ligament rupture post. I humbly apologize for asking more questions. But I was wondering about the reason you thought a brace wouldn't be a good idea for my small dog. Right now he still tries to use his injured leg. He is looking a bit better but every time he tries to run on it it starts to shake like it's still hurting him. I'm trying to confine him to a small spaces to get him to rest and let it heal. I will definitely look into the supplements you suggested. Just wanted to get an idea why you thought of brace wouldn't be a good idea. Hello Dr. I have a chihuahua that was diagnosed w a collapsed trachea and a heart murmur..They put her on 1/2 a tab of Temaril-p 2x a wk...Its helped but wanted to know if I can give her this cough med on the off days that she doesnt get the med. So just had a question I took my year old shar pei just for his basic yearly vaccines a couple days ago and I asked the vet if they could see what my dods cough could be caused by he only coughs every now and then in a day my thought was tracheal collapse I asked the vet if they could look into this they said oh we looked at your dogs heart and lungs all sounds good but they said they think my Shar-Pei is overweight hes only 55 pounds and to just feed him less he only receives 2 small scoops in total spred into 2 meals in a day and half the time he doesn't even eat it all from what Ive been reading a standard shar pei weight is 55 to 65 so I thought his weight was good. My question does 55 pound seem like a reasonable weight and can weight affect the possibl of tracheal collapse if my dog has it?

I am desperately trying to find an answer to whether or not the “adult” version of this syrup is acceptable or not. The link in the notes for Canadian viewers to follow goes to the one that isn’t for children, so I went out and bought that one. There was no kids option available in my local market. Now I see in comments that there is some discrepancy about whether or not this product is safe for dogs? My Pekinese has collapsed trachea as well. My Vet has him on temeril-p pretty much indeffnately. Rusty is 14 years old and was diagnosed a year ago. While the meds do work, I started to notice his back legs shaking while standing still. I chalked it up to arthritis but then read one of the side effects of the temeril is muscle weakness! I was horrified. I always prefer naturalpathy but was so frightened of his diagnosis that I have had him on the temeril for a year now. I was thinking to cut back on the dosage and using the Suro syrup you reccomend here. I would like to have him off meds completely but not sure what is best for Rusty... I hope you see my post and can offer a comment on this. tia :)
Hi I'm going through the same with my 15yo teacup chi. His back legs barely hold him up. I even cut back his food so he lost a lil weight which is a lil better. But shaky back legs all the time.
Current vet meds Temeril P & Theofiline Susp.
Other daily:
Throat Gold supplement x 2
Honey in a plate w kibble x2 (or honey on a Greenie)
The treat sometimes distracts him from coughing long enough to break the cough cycle so he can rest or sleep.
Kids Robitussin:
As needed (when coughing more than a few minutes or keeping him awake)
I tried PetMeds Joint enhancers for small dogs and cats and they go hard so fast and he won't eat them. So i need to find new joint supplement.
