Beautiful reel. I own five Lamson reels: Remix 1.5, Liquid 5+& 7+, Guru S 9+ and a Litespeed G5 11+. Nice but way out of my pocketbook ( as well as wife's patience) range. Thanks for the review.
Very nice! Lamson is definitely in the salt game! Brian could you do a review on the liquid max? I absolutely love mine and the braid i have for backing 🤣🤣🤣🤣. You have the best fly videos out there. Thank you!
Nice looking reel ! Already have a Nautilus Silver King, that too has 14” of pickup per revolution. Have had mine for years with no problem. Otherwise I’d probably be getting this one.
Come on the first to do that was Galvan Torque Tournament Serie T14, T16 and T18...the T14 can pull 15.7” of line in every single turn T-16 17.3” and the T-18 an impressive of 18.8”.
Galvan had three torque tournament sizes that were very large diameter. They do not make them anymore and I wish that I still had mine.... They were definitely not as light weight, they were a bluewater reel.
Aesthetically, I can't stand billet aluminum - the less machining the better. Stamped sheet metal is what I like; like the old USA-manufactured Martins. Also, it would be nice to not have so much line capacity. I can't justify anything more massive than 3wt for everyday; 7wt is my heaviest set-up. With the large-diameter design, to have 30-lbs mono pull somewhat clean from your spool is the idea. Last time, I simply carried my homemade leader with me on my largest diameter monofilamnet spool - just to impose less memory on the thickest part. The Hyperspeed M9 looks like a serious reel, can't imagine how it would disappoint.
i like how skinny and tall it is this how fly reels should be now a days because i use braid line for backing... i just cant justify the price tags reel companies be asking for now days
Braid will dig into the line on the spool and knot, also the fact if it goes through your tip enough it’ll put a groove in it before you know it. Been there done it, in a few seasons of steelhead and salmon it’ll happen .
@@MadriveroutfittersI was gonna say wider but it seems I was wrong! The speedrunner measures 5.2” in diameter while the hyperspeed measures 5.5”. Impressive! I just wish it was full cage so I could use it for my 5wt spey alongside my 8wt saltwater rod.
Only used Lamson waterworks for freshwater and absolutely love it.
They make a great product and have for a long time! Thanks for watching.

Innovation is always welcome. Some things might flop, but inevitably we get some cool stuff.
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching. Will pass along to Brian.
I got the 3.5 lamson liquid. such a great reel kit
Lamson does a great job!
Agreed! We sell a TON of them.
Woo that’s a wagon wheel there. I bet that’ll bring in the line.
It sure will! Thanks for watching.
Looks fantastic! Now Loop Opti has direct competition! 🐟
Thanks for watching.

Of course....no problems with a Nautilus Silver King. Some of the best fly reels made!

Which are no longer made? Why would we make a video about a reel that we can't sell? Gonna stick with stuff that we sell....thanks.

@@TedJ71 yes, braid is about the worst thing you can use for backing. Agreed.
nice gonna be a sick saltwater reel for fast fish.
Most definitely! Thanks for being here.
I believe the Loop opti speedrunner has a wider arbor?
Wider....or larger? Could be. Not familiar with Loop.

Loop has nearly the same diameter but 1.25" wide.
This thing is sweet!
It certainly is. Thanks for watching.
🤔Lamson cosplaying Hardy Fortuna Regent, at least you only need to turn 360 for full drag on the Hardy
Thanks for watching.
I have 4 Lamson reels and 8 spools. They are awesome. But they are not even close to an Able Reel.
They are actually very able. 😎
Its not a radical design, its the same as the M8 just bigger. The M12 with a 8wt spool
@@slhibbs Thanks for watching. Apparently Lamson thinks it’s fairly newsworthy?
So . Will I have to go see my Bank Manager for a Loan 🤔
Not sure of your financial situation? They are certainly not "cheap" though....that's for sure.
Yes 😂😂
