That level 3 draw was super impressive, but that reload was insane. The empty mag is still in the air by the time he is reloaded and back into battery. How is it even possible that he inserts that mag smoother and faster than it dropping free? All I can do is laugh in amazement.

@@N3wbMa5t3r It was a specific skill demonstration, not a situational combat drill. Dude is a marine combat vet, former law enforcement officer, and instructor. And that's all on top of cyborg level skill with firearms. @@N3wbMa5t3r Then you should recognize that this was a very specific demonstration of drawing from a level 3 holster, and not a tactical drill. How was he suppose to demonstrate the draw stroke for the camera while moving around? I mean, he could have, and we would have been less instructed by it because we'd only catch glimpses of the total movement.

This honestly has helped a lot in my draw thank you! I’m already at a little bit of a handicap having dislocated my thumb a little while back and this is actually a lot easier on it. Noticeable improvement in the first couple of sessions but nowhere near as fast as you! Rock on man 🤘

  • @Basher6R

When I first got my Safariland a few years back, my draw stroke was awful. Hitting the SLS was easy, but I’d want to combine the draw stroke with deactivating the ALS, and I often began the draw before the ALS was defeated. Anyone who’s done that knows that the pistol isn’t going anywhere, LOL.
So I learned to push the SLS down/forward much as you do, and acquire a full grip in the process of doing that. Done correctly, the beavertail of my G19 is fully seated in the web of my hand when the SLS hood is fully forward.
Then, I sweep my thumb to the rear, and almost use it to begin the draw stroke. By sweeping to the rear, I deactivate the ALS in the first half of my thumb’s movement, and as I continue to sweep to the rear, my thumb begins to “push” the pistol out of the holster. From there, I draw as normal. It’s hard to describe, but it’s a very efficient motion when done correctly. I’m nowhere near as fast as you Mojo, but it did help me overcome the habit of giving a solid tug on a pistol that wasn’t about to clear the holster, haha.

Good draws. Thats how I do mine also where I work. Basically the same concept running my thumb down deep to the side of the holster and pushing the firearm down a little so I don’t pre grab it and the als wont budge. I’ve noticed a lot of people try to pull up before engaging the als down to release the firearm. Has been a big issue with people trying to draw it quick. Thanks for the quick vid!!

For my G19 I ended up going with the Tier one conceal level 2 retention holster and I love it but I definitely wish I had gone with this Safariland level 3 set up instead now that I see how much I spent for the tier one vs how much better and more affordable the Safariland ALS/SLS holster was. When inserting a pistol into a holster, it is crucial to keep your eyes on the tactical field rather than looking directly at the holster. This practice is essential for several reasons:
Situational Awareness: Keeping your eyes on the tactical field allows you to maintain awareness of your surroundings. This is crucial in potentially dangerous situations where threats could emerge at any moment. By staying alert, you can react quickly to any changes or new threats.
Safety: In high-stress situations, distractions can be dangerous. By keeping your focus on the tactical field, you reduce the risk of being caught off guard by an adversary. Looking away, even momentarily, could result in a loss of control or situational awareness.
Proficiency and Confidence: Regular practice of holstering your weapon without looking helps build muscle memory and confidence. Over time, this becomes a smooth, second-nature action that can be performed quickly and safely.
Control: Steadily holstering your weapon ensures that you maintain control of it at all times. A rushed or haphazard action could lead to accidental discharges or damage to the firearm. Steady, deliberate movements help prevent such accidents.
Professionalism and Discipline: Performing administrative tasks like holstering with precision and discipline reflects a high level of training and professionalism. It sets a standard for others and demonstrates a commitment to safety and effectiveness.
In summary, keeping your eyes on the tactical field while steadily holstering your pistol enhances situational awareness, safety, proficiency, control, and professionalism. These elements are critical for effective and safe firearm handling, especially in dynamic and potentially dangerous environments.

I’d like to see you on a timer against a moving target, a 21 foot knife attacker demo, with sims. Don’t know if everyone on here missed it but I caught the one mistake of you drawing before the als was released. Under stress this is likely and does slow the draw.
