- EPISODE 17 REDO
It's the longest episode to date, and there's baby Orangutans and baby otters... do I even need to continue? The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo opened the $32 million Rain Forest in 1992. Undoubtedly the building remains their most successful project to date, attracting nearly a personal, record breaking 1.5 million visitors the following year. The Rain Forest is a one acre, two story, all indoor attraction depicting the disappearing world's of Indonesia, the Amazon River Basin, and Central Africa. Using creative techniques in their exhibitry and allowing guests to get upclose with its residents, this is a perfect place to grow your connection with wildlife. On this episode, your tour group will get to see a habitat that actually STORMS, I'll take you right up to the glass with GIANT BATS, you'll be able to count the teeth of the world's most unusual crocodilian, and introduced to agoutis, crested porcupines, and a large company of amphibians, reptiles, and Insects. Enjoy!

What happened to the old version of this video? ;-;
The human population and rainforest acres stats really hurt to see but that's what it's supposed to do so I applaud it. Harsh facts trigger action
Excellent video!! If you’re wondering about the rainforest diorama, it would go dark and transition to another diorama of a destroyed rainforest, accompanied by sounds of falling trees and logging equipment.
The rainforest display @10:38 doesn't work anymore, but you used to hit the button and the light would go out and there would be sounds of people/equipment at work cutting down the forest. Then the light would come back on to reveal the physical display under the trees, which is a sad-looking mud lot with trucks, debris, and stumps
very good
I love the longer episode format, Zak!
Awesome episode! I love how long you made this masterpiece! Great job Zak! Ever episode is better than the last!
Reminds me of working at Rainforest Cafe!!!🤣🌩🌱🌿🌴
this and the natural history museum are 2 gems in cleveland
Wow. I visited The Rain Forest twice as a kid in the mid-'90s, but my memories of it are all but gone at this point. Just a few vague images... I do remember the tapirs, sad to hear that they're gone. I'm definitely going to have to visit again, though! There's some cool stuff here. I love the elaborate leaf-cutter ant setup, and the rain and mist machines really make the porcupine exhibit into something special. Little touches like the medicine trail add a lot to the overall immersion, too.
I greatly appreciate this sort of long form tour video.
The cutest animal there is clearly the Capybara
I love the extensive format so much, I enjoy the little creatures you cover and miss out of them in past tours. Please consider keeping this format!
For the most part the long episodes are here to stay.
Love your vids
Keep up the good work
Thank you for this review! I work at this zoo and always enjoy your visits.
I loved it always love seeing the animals
Thanks for your zoo tours, they're amazing!
This is one of my favorite places in this zoo. I love watching the orangutans! Your lucky you got to see the otters. My past few trips they weren’t on exhibit.
It is my favorite place!
Great video as always!
This was an awesome episode!
Awesome Tour! So many Amazing Animals!
Question: Did you forget to add the C-shape with the Fijian Banded Iguana and Green Tree Monitor? I was wondering because at 6:37 you said “another C-shape” but never showed the first one. Besides that, great video, definitely one of my favorites and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us this year.
Sadly i am not able to go to these parks since i live at the other side of the world :). Thanks to these videos i am still able to life the adventure of actually being there, greatly appriciate what you are doing. Thank you for making these.
Good vid
Literally the only reason to visit Cleveland. Dope exhibit.
hey zak i have 2 questions for you. 1. are you going to cover the rest of columbus zoo's exhibit. and disney animal kingdom. 2. when are you making another Q AND A video.
That’s good indoor rainforest looks so cool!
I love this place. We visited several times.
Congrats 🎊 on 12,000 subs
I love it shows the message of on how we are affecting the rain forest and it’s really sad to see what it will look like in the future
Loved the video! Hope you can come to mesker park zoo in Evansville sometime and see the Amazonia!
Love this video
Hope episodes are this long more often!
I love the monky
Awsome realy enjoyed this video
I'm going for my 1st time next month. I'm excited. I have a trip planned to it.
Awesome video
Even in the redo, the Fishing Cat still evades being seen huh?
Great video on one of the best places in my Home town zoo (and the zoo I've visited the most!) I've recently become a ambassador their, that's are name for the people who give people directions, give animal facts, and help guests in anyway. Maybe the next time your in the Cleveland area and come back t the zoo, I'll see you their! Also, I think the next part of the zoo to record if you haven't is the Africa area with the new expansion to the Rhinos Habitat!
Even though this is a remake this is much more superior than the original
The diorama you saw usually will transition to another one thats a rainforest thats been cut down and then it has sounds of logging equipment and falling trees play with it.
So beautiful
Wowsers! Is it a remake or Episode 104! Plus, you should visit the Lincoln Park Zoo again because in Fall 2021, they're gonna do the grand opening on the new Pepper Family Wildlife Center sooner or later! And also, visit the Woodland Park Zoo, Sacramento Zoo, Oakland Zoo, San Francisco Zoo, Happy Hollow Park & Zoo, San Diego Zoo Safari Park, Monterey Bay Aquarium, SeaWorld San Diego, & Disney's Animal Kingdom as well! Stars & Alioramus!🦏
This is interesting you are underrated
Cabybara!!!😊
Wow the porcupine exhibit was a rain forest then a cloud forest
The diorama is interactive. It starts out as a full forest with the calls of birds and other rain forest animals. Then you hear the sounds of trucks and chainsaws as the forest liters fades into another diorama of a cattle farm with the sounds of cattle and human children playing.
Man I wished I could go there
fun fact.. CLuded leopards aren't classed as either big cat or small cat. they have their own genus their of nebulosa which translates into young and new they have very few sub species too... big cat genus is Panthera and small cat genus is Felis ...... I found this out when we got clouded leopards at our local zoo and was chatting with one of the carnivore keepers about them
6:28 I remember this being a reticulated python exhibit when I was a kid. I wonder when they switched to Burmese
For any interested in checking out the concept stuff, here's a link to some details for the amazing-looking Primate Forest expansion for the RainForest!: www.clevelandmetroparks.com/zoo/tickets-attractions/zoo-locations/future-project-primate-forest
The word "Agouti" makes me think about this game character named Agoti 😂
Rainforest display has been fixed as of last year!
Please do more Minnesota zoo
I love the .monkey
You should really go to the zoo’s in the Netherlands!
8:42 not sure when this was filmed, but as of my last visit (two days ago), it’s actually a cape porcupine that now lives in that habitat.
This was filmed in July, I went back and looked at the signage I took a photo of (thankfully), and it was labeled Indian Crested.
Well darn. I didn't see a Lynx in the description like he said. (Dad jokes. I got a million of them.)
Fun fact. Bearcats are actually called Binturong. And they smell like popcorn.
Since he forgot to have the links to the original episode in the description, here are the links to the original videos.

Geckos lick thier eyes to clean them
K . St.
Please make a video about Africa Veldt at Memphis Zoo
As one of the poorest exhibits I've ever seen, that will unfortunately not happen
I understand
Sorry Zoo Tours
Poison dart frogs are not poisonous in captivity
Happy Birthday day
I would like to know how the heck you make these thumbnails
This is the best answer I can give🙂

@@ZooTours Thank You
Aquarium recomendation adventure aquarium Camden New Jersey
hi
Capybara
What about silver back gorilla's they probably on endangered list being extant .
A Silverback is not a separate species
12:23 BOOPSNOOTS!
That shot was from three years ago when I didn't plan on re-filming the building, so there was no extensive filming. A few months ago, when it came time to get everything in full, the Porcupines were not in view.
@@ZooTours Aww. That's a shame because prehensile-tailed porcupines are one of my absolute favorite animals.
Some of them enclosures are an absolute disgrace ! They all look to small, hate zoo's like this 😤
somebody can't pronounce binturong....
For this reason, I prefer not to
