      Have u considered a pinhole camera regarding the tilt possibilities? U could just tilt it any direction u care & the camera will not have a temper tantrum and shut down on you. This is where the really hard hitting questions come in. A7RV or A7C R? Is the R C that much smaller for better street photography? What if I want to use the camera for professional photography too, will the C R look like a small toy camera and not fit as well in the hand? What about the EVF, is the RV's that much better? Isn't the C R's shutter much louder than the RV which kinda nullafies it's use for discreet street photography? What if I get into wedding photography where dual cards slots are essential? What the heck, shouldn't I just stay with my RIII?? etc. etc. etc.

    Hey there, great job on your content - thank you for helping beginners like me, as well as experts! I want to achieve a top-tier alpha body like the A1, but I hope to wait for a possible A1ii update this year. In the meantime, I purchased the A9iii and felt overwhelmed by its immense power and file data management. Since I had only a few days to test it, and it arrived a week later than my GM 24/70 ii, I didn't feel comfortable moving forward with the 24mp. I think the A1ii might come with a 33 or 50mp, along with a possible GS and pre-capture, which I'm very interested in. If I want to build my collection with the holy trinity of GMii lenses but need a decent alpha body to use while I wait for the A1ii announcement, what would you suggest? Thanks in advance for any feedback and please keep doing what you do bro 💪💪💪

    Hi Jared, enjoyed your review of the Sony a7C R. I'm looking to purchase a versatile full-frame camera that can handle a variety of subjects - travel, street, portrait, landscape, as well as wildlife and bird photography. Do you think the a7C R would be a good fit for this type of mixed use? Or would the faster fps and dual card slots of the a7R V be better suited? I'm trying to decide if the extra features of the a7R V are worth it for my purposes or if the a7C R will meet my needs. Appreciate any advice you can provide. Thank you!

    • @antiseth3964
      @antiseth3964 ปีที่แล้ว

      This depends highly on what your personal preferences are. If you are a professional needing a reliable workhorse for day-to-day gigs, A7R V has the extra features you need like the dual card slots, higher quality screen/EVF, and higher FPS shooting. If you are purely an enthusiast, travel frequently and lightly, or photography is your side-gig, the A7RC is definitely going to fit the bill for you, and the extra portability of the form factor will be an added bonus. I would just encourage you to buy quality SD cards to reduce the chances of a card failure. I’ve never had problems with ProGrade cards.

    The biggest difference to me between the A7RV and the A7RC is that not only does the A7RV has two cards slots, but that they're both CF-Express Type A capable, whereas the A7RC has only one card slot that's not CF-Express Type A capable. I would like to have seen Jared discuss the FPS and buffer clearing on the A7RC, especially as he was shooting the Phillies game. Seems to me the slower FPS and buffer would make this camera not very appealing to someone who shoots sports or wildlife

    Sure, as a Z9 shooter & growing up with DSLRs, I might be biased, but I genuinely want to know: Have you ever felt or heard anyone say they found the A7R_ to be too big and wished it smaller????
    [I'm being totally seriously here - this is not a sarcastic jab]
    The thing that's always confused me about this is yes, I understand the appeal of a Fuji X100 / Leica Q style camera (having owned the former myself, as well as multiple Leica M cameras), but with these Sony mirrorless cameras, the lenses are still going to be the bottleneck of just how compact the entire package can be. And having a very small body on a large lens (even something like a 35mm f/1.4GM, which isn't THAT large in the grand scheme of things) feels awkward in my hand.
    Edit: haha this wasn't even intentional but I like how I said "having a very small body on a large lens" as opposed to "having a very large lens on a small body" because the former is actually what it feels like to me.

    I have a7c and tested the a7cII and a7rv. For me, the weight of the a7c range is the max i can handle. I found the body of the a7rv too bulky and heavy. I cannot imagine to have this bigger camera on a pro gimbal. A7cII and a7cR are very good. I checked the new evf on the new model, the a7cII is definitely better than a7c (magnification is higher) and i found it very close to the a7rv. The a7cII seems to be the right body for hybrid shooting and price. If they had put the same price than a7c i would have try to upgrade but at this price i cannot afford it.

    I would be interested in seeing how it holds up in different weather conditions. We know the A7R4 and A7r5 have had some weather issues from time to time, and this body does not look as strong as the A7r5; so only time will tell. The price though is crazy indeed !!!!

    To me, a compact camera makes the most sense, if you can also get matching compact high quality lenses. Sony aren't exactly known for compact lenses as far as I know, so there is that.
    But sure, if I decided to get into a full frame mirrorless camera system, Sony would be at the top of the list, and the A7C R would definitely be an interesting option.

    I guess it depends on which system you're in already, but for a little more I'd rather have the Canon R5 even as old as it is now. Why is Sony still dragging along at 7 to 10 fps even shooting electronic? If this camera could do 12 mechanical and 20 electronic it would make more sense. Sony shooters happy with low fps will be thrilled with this camera, but after shooting at 20fps I would be frustrated. That's a lot of smack for all the trade-offs imho.

    • @mikni4069
      @mikni4069 ปีที่แล้ว

      The higher fps are compromised on none stacked, it’s 12bit and noticeable issues with RS making it rather useless for loads of the stuff you actually would use high fps for. high mech fps meaning 12-15 is in extended mode so there generally compromise not just bit but also often on Af, like lock on, evf refresh rate fake evf frames etc. It’s an endless list of compromises to get cameras like this to do high fps. It’s just never going to work very well.
      Do a stacked high fps and you never wanna ever do high fps of this type ever again. For majority having only 8-10fps just ain’t really an issue and those who want more probably just go with the older A9ii. I would not be surprised too see Sony do a A9iii in a A9C but at a 1k less.
      Personally lenses matters more, bodies are just going to be a constant levelling our or slightly leapfrog, I would never recommend Canon with their stands on thirpart choices

    Sony is playing game with consumers. Sony intentionally didn't included some features. Those missing things will be added to A7CR ii - higher shutter speed, joy stick, one more custom button, may be the better screen(monitor).. So just wait for the second editon come out.....

  • @RunNGunPhoto

    This looks like a great little vlogging camera or b-cam to the higher-end Sonys. I wish Nikon, Canon and Panasonic would step up their low-light game. Canon & Nikon's glass is superior, in my opinion, but Sony is beating them out with Autofocus and Sensor performance... Again, that's my opinion.

    Sony's AI focus algorithm favors FACES. Your dude doing the bating has his head and back towards the camera. The dude in the dugout is facing the camera. Of course the camera favors the dude in the dugout. The priority on HUMAN mode is EYES, followed by FACE, followed by human OUTLINE, followed by DISTANCE.

    What is the big deal? Sigma FP-L exists with the same (61MP)or better specs (and better video) some 1.5 years now. It's current price is under 2500$ and you can get it as a bundle with the extra EVF for just over 3100$. Which gives you a better articulated EVF (3.7mil dots) better rear screen (2.1mil dots) and an even smaller body. But of course, it's not a "SONY"...
