Dont know if it would be possible, but rear wheel steering would be a quite interesting addition to that thing.
Also spent the last few days wrenching on some Arrmas, first time working on them and yeah, kind of a pain...had a pretty slow head-on collision with a Revo and it broke the lower arm, hinge pin, hinge pin brace, bent the shock tower, and stripped out the screws from the front bulkhead. Not surprising for how heavy these things are...Arrma tough indeed lol
Dang that hurts, and yeah rear wheel steering would work extremely well cause it’s got a terrible Turing circle

Kevin, you stumbled onto something quite amazing here with this design. You should find a RC manufacturer to commission a design refinement and build of this car. Seeing a class of these ripping around a race track would be awesome.
After seeing this, I just want to hang out with Kevin and bash RC cars for a living... That looks like genuine FUN!!

Kevin, you should cut two X Maxx's in half instead. This way, it'll be stronger and easier to work on.

The Xmaxx chassis isnt flat like the Arrma ones.
Bigger motors + paddle tires + pond = Epic! You gotta send it across a body of water at full speed.

its a snowboard but yes. snowboards are insanely strong. wood chassis should be way more common.
You've invented something " quite" special there Kev !!! It's a real blast to watch !!! It definitely blows me away how Responsive it is and how it soaks up most obstacles 🙄 It's just the tree hooking your rear wheel .. 🤔 maybe you could put some random thingys to stop that from happening!!??? Kev I started out in rc as a noob, I would always look on TH-cam for a good experienced teacher and when I found your chanel I immediately started watching and I love that you don't just drive crawlers or just bashers but you drive the cheapest the most expensive the longest and the shortest the worst and the best rc cars and I don't think that there's a better rc chanel on TH-cam than yours! Keep up the amazing work man.👍

Noob here, loving the backyard attitude Kevin! Couple of suggestions, how about a micro boot to stop dirt in the drive shafts? (Business idea) Also some metal wheel guards to prevent snapping the arms off? Also if you could give it some extra lift then I feel that a new style of stable rc car would be on the cards for the big boys manufacturing r n d ...

I used to snowboard a lot...this is dope!! That board will take much more abuse than those parts can. Now you need wings on actuators to pop em out after hitting a huge jump. Fly baby fly...or those little rocket engines on a servo 😂
Craziest fastest amazing truck limousine rc ive ever seen ever!!!! On a track its maniac and really awesome turning and control i love seeing on trck than just jumpin in air and braken em!! Mise well put wings on it and now ull have a world record oh ya wings on a rc holy moly mate next project
8:08 Yup. Homemade lapping compound. Axles last longer dry than oiled. If lube is insisted, a dry graphite powder coating is fine.

I never thought I'd say I wanted a RC car made from a snowboard. That looks a load of fun
Funny thing, I was looking at the whole shaft lubrication problem for the suspension bushings on my project car. One thing they suggested was a high viscosity grease loaded with graphite. The graphite helps keep out the dirt since it already is in the grease, which acts as a binder for the graphite.

that long RC car is actually extremely impressive. I wonder if any companies would ever make such a machine in mass quantities for purchase just like an xmaxx or something. would be very very cool to see traxxas or armma make a purpose build chassis that is as long as the one kev made.

Finally a use for the old Snowboard.
As far as greasing or oiling the driveshaft ends, I would just use spray silicone. Much less things will stick to them and it will prevent them from rusting together and not working. I always spray down all the exposed metal pieces of my rc cars after going in the snow.
You should turn it into and 8x8. 4 wheel steering in front and 8 wheel drive😳
