    My only suggestion would be to add a Limiter on the master bus at the end. Just because I'm weird like that. But great setup. I copied it and will adjust as needed. Subscribed

      I will add a limiter when sending mixes for review/approval. Although I only turn it on to do that bounce out. Good advice to have though for sure!

    Good evening. Question.
    How come for the six Reverb and Delay Channels
    you preferred to take advantage of a BUS Channel as opposed to an FX Channel?
    Thank you

    I've been routing my tracks' outputs to folder tracks that i already have set up. So, at least i can still see all of my audio when u collapse folders for mixing.

    • @floodwaterstudios
      @floodwaterstudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah you can defiantly do that to use it as a more traditional vca to a degree. I tend to mix individual tracks in the group until it sounds good then fine tune mix using the folders. At that point I, visually, like to collapse and not see all the audio tracks during final mixes WHEN I can

    I added busses with effects as you suggested. How come some of them are labeled as "Mix FX" and the others aren't?

    Hello ...I also use temp on my projects...I have a question regarding using the Bus for the FX and not the FX Bus for fx ?? ..Why a Bus ?? and not a FX Bus ?

    • @floodwaterstudios
      @floodwaterstudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly? Just out of habit. Either would work the same. In studio one you can add Mix FX to busses if you wanted to (console shaper etc.) and FX channels you can’t. But other than that they operate the same.

  • @leearmitage
    @leearmitage ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have a similar template but for the "aux" sends I tend to use FX tracks not buses, have a few templates from demo through to full production

    • @floodwaterstudios
      @floodwaterstudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have done it both ways in the past. But I’ve enjoyed working with busses for now. Appreciate you watching!

    • @leearmitage
      @leearmitage ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@floodwaterstudios no problem. I get that I use busses for the main processing of each instrument group and FX for the FX sends and then have another set of busses set up for stems before the master fader

    • @floodwaterstudios
      @floodwaterstudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      I kinda use the folders as that stem bus you have set up. I guess I keep it up lumped into groups of instrument types though. If you’re doing straight stems I would assume you have one for every track or do you group there also?

    • @leearmitage
      @leearmitage ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@floodwaterstudios how I have my sessions set at the mo just started using folder in the last six months, but not used them as busses, so I have the multitracks for each mic/instrument then they go to there own submix/bus ie guitars, bass, vox, drums shells, then FX then the stems then the master bus, I do have an old video showing this I need to do an updated version lol

    I am praying and hoping that one day that someone can make a video without all of the personal information that takes away from my concentration. You are on a roll and then you lost me along the way. I don't care what colors you use I don't care about all of the little tiny things. I just want to see what your system is. Those things are really irrelevant. And no disrespect intended you seem like a stand-up guy but I am so frustrated what the people who try to teach think back on the first time you worked on this. Remember how you felt not knowing. Well sir. Pretend you're teaching children. Remember people who already know how to use this equipment will not be watching your tutorials. People like me watch your tutorials. People like me who want to learn. I rather you slow it down and be very specific and everything you say and do. It really would be a lot more helpful. Gregor and that other guy. Do the same thing. 😢😢

    • @floodwaterstudios
      @floodwaterstudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      I apologize there were some thing’s that you didn’t care for. In regards to coloring everything it’s just part of my system and part of my mix template. It’s to keep me focused during the mix later on. Mentally I know what is what by the color. What content would you like to see as someone just starting out in studio one? I’d be happy to work on some stuff for sure! I do appreciate the feedback also. I, hopefully, can only improve.
