    📝 ABOUT THIS VIDEO
    If you've been following me for any amount of time, then you know that I am a huge fan of shortcuts, automation, and just overall working smarter, not harder.
    My thought process is that if I can remove any substantial friction from my workflow, I will be able to create more freely with little to no obstacles. Ultimately, this means that I can spend more time actually making music instead of fumbling with gear and technology.
    In an effort to speed up my workflow and help others do the same, last year, I launched The Beat Maker's Toolbar, a macro toolbar built to speed up beat-making in Studio One, and you guys loved it!
    As helpful as the toolbar was, I knew that was only the beginning, so I began to work on the next thing and what I consider to be the backbone of any effective producer; a proper production template.
    I'm sure you have noticed, but tools are abundant at the moment for creating music; from drum kits to sample packs to DAWs, the supply is endless. Now at first glance, this seems like a good thing, and for the most part, it is, but the downside of so much choice is what psychology experts call "Analysis Paralysis."
    Analysis paralysis can be described as the phenomenon when an increased number of choices inadvertently also leads to more significant anxiety, indecision, paralysis, and dissatisfaction.
    I don't know about you, but I've noticed that over the years, I've begun to spend more time initially choosing between all my VSTs, plugins, and sounds rather than making the music, and that can be pretty frustrating.
    Now I'm not saying that having choices is terrible; sound selection is still super important in the production process. I am saying that in those first precious moments when you open your DAW, we should not be spending so much time getting started. If we change direction or decide we need a specific tool once we're in flow, then so be it, but I genuinely believe those first moments of creation are crucial, and that is where an effective template can come in handy.
    Not only should a good template help you avoid analysis paralysis, but it can also help you speed up your workflow by storing your favorite settings and tools to be more effective and overall CREATE MORE MUSIC!
    With that being said, over the past couple of months, I have been optimizing my own Studio One production template to share it with you and help you customize it to suit your own needs.
    I am super excited to announce that the template is finally ready, so in this video, I thought I could do a deep dive into this template and show you what it can do for you.

    Hey Ivan, thanks for the video! Do you have another video where you go into detail about how to set up the drums sounds as individual tracks while keeping them attached to one instance of Impact XT? Or could you possibly point me in the right direction? I'm not very experienced yet in Studio One, but the videos of yours that I've watched have been super helpful. Keep it up!

    You can automate the pitch of your hi hat in impact xt .. I know that old school sample across a keyboard works fine. But I prefer to automate a pitch knob rather if it’s in impact xt or battery.

    • @ImIvanCalderon
      @ImIvanCalderon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea the ability to automate knobs has always been there. Personally I rather see it on the piano roll but whatever works for you!

    On windows the paths are different from what you have on your instructions video which is a mac, but I've managed to find the settings folder for studio one 5..and it's in the default DOCUMENTS folder..but when I copy to there or any root directory folder where I save...Studio one doesn't even see it to to even open..even though I've another window looking at what I've copied?
    Not sure how to get studio one to even see the files, thought it would be straight as copying & pasting to the relevant paths..really weird..tried with both of the templates I purchased..at full price...I didn't even wait till the end of video..where u gave out a 4 the coupon code 🤣🤣

      Find the location of your “templates” folder first. Once you do that follow the path further down until you reach the “songs” folder. In there is where the templates need to be copied to. Make sure to copy the data files as well!
      If you’re still having trouble shoot me an email and I’d be happy to help further!

    • @ImIvanCalderon
      @ImIvanCalderon  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here is a sure fire way of finding the right install location:
      Open a blank session. Go to Preferences>Locations. From there, click on "User Data" and take note of the location path shown. There is where the templates folder should be. Hope that helps!

      When you purchase you actually get two versions of my template. One version will be the exact one you saw in this video and for that one you will need the plugins that I use. The other version is a general template based off of my version that comes with the same routing but with stock studio one plugins. Inside your customer portal I also include instructional videos that walk you though how to customize the general template to make it exactly how you’d like.
