Just like i predicted katlyn tuohy has been training for months and will be in the final 5000 olympic trials with parker valby.
I said so months ago because once she said this was her dream.
Dont count her out she is onviously holding back. Her speed.

Agree. 5000 should be a straight final like 10000. Not fair to these athletes.

Congratulations and well done to those first four, in particular. They ran just fast enough to meet their "place" objective that was to qualify for the final. That final, of course, will be a different type of race and will certainly be a lot faster.
I just hope that the much faster Open Grade runners do not just "sit" on Parker Valby and let her do all the work in front. A number of them are 20-30 seconds faster than Valby and will simply use her as a pacemaker, particularly as they have already achieved the Olympic qualifying time. Parker Valby has NOT met that time requirement and therefore must make sure it is a fast pace to crack that 14.52 time required. This will affect how the race is run.
False. She is qualified for the Olympics based on points with world athletics. Even though the ESPN commentators were not aware of this during the NCAA final. 😀

To have a chance Parker, and Katelyn Tuohy, who has been training for months will have to go out fast, and then go for their best time ever.
They don't have to win, but they have to finish near the front.
Neither of them have the late kick of the pros, but if they can stay in front as long as possible, I believe they will make the team.
I'm predicting a 14. 30 to 14.40 will do it

So far tuohy and parker will race in the 5000m final tuohy is also entered in the 3k and Parker in the 10k.
Should be interesting tuohy list a lot if weight and has been training since March for this after resting a few months after pain in the hamstring injury and back pain after the nationals. If I heard right
I think she will surprise a lot of people.
