The look of pure joy! When a project like that comes together, you get to drive it, and it performs.

I love the NZ car culture. Even though your at a tuning “business” it still seems to have that “small town / do anything for you / doing it for the love & fun of it” kind of charm
Even though can get all the same work done here in Aus…. It just doesn’t seem to have the same charm and passion for it

    I have a '98 4Runner 2.7 3RZ 5-speed and I'm looking at what route I should take to turbocharge it.

Do you know any fabricators around your area? I thought I remembered you got your snorkel done in Cromwell?? Thanks, looking forward to the next one

Southern Lakes Engineering. They deal primarily in structural engineering but all fans of 4WD and built their own gear for their rigs. They are worth a chat with.

Just trying to get into the 4x4 scene and was wondering what a decent 4x4 would be between 6k-15k would be here in NZ

Pajero or Bighorn. They are older vehicles but youll get more bang for buck from a decent one of them than a modern 4wd. They are still relatively cheap in the market as the underdogs from the 90s 4WD era.

@@lostsheepadventures what is the better engine in the bighorn? What would I look for on a completely rooted one

Stay away from the 3.1 (3059cc) Bighorn they tend to get glazed bores and loose compression. The 2.8 Bighorn is solid and reliable but underpowered and the 3.0d is solid and reliable.
Don’t get a 99-06 pajero 3.2 unless the diesel pump has been rebuilt in the last 5 years cos they only last 320-350k and are $6k when they go. The pajero 06-on 3.2 are super reliable and underrated especially the 09-on when they got the Toyota transmission

the 3rz need cams to run better peak power then 5k stock spings are the same as 2rz which will make power past 6k with a turbo.
