@@chancanobi Yeah, they certainly accomplished nothing and this is certainly like a mobile game: a huge, seamless open world with 3 factions and 48 players and hundreds of AI; insane bullet phsysics (although a bit buggy at the moment); and the first game or at least multiplayer shooter that believably simulates a modern South East Asia with OG voice lines from the AI and authentic architecture. All this on day 1.
Good attention to detail on most things. The character's pistol shooting form is not up to snuff. His elbows are slack, which allow the gun to recoil backwards towards the shooter's face. With good form the gun stays put, the slide reciprocates, and the muzzle rises. The bolts on the AKs stay to the rear when they're firing in full auto, they don't reciprocate. The case injection also looks really lethargic, which is unusual for a gun that's typically overgassed. The shotgun reloads are realistically slow, though I dunno how that'll impact game feel. Implicitly you know he's reaching for more shells, not just spawning them in his hand. He single round feeds the SKS.. dear lord. I like how he traps the round trying to come out of the mosin with his pinky. The grenades definitely need work.
I don't think the single round feeding the SKS is that much of an issue. Given the setting and the fact that most SKS's you find are scavenged off AI "scav" type enemies they probably don't have stripper clips lying around, although I'd like to see stripper clips added as an option, obviously with the downside of having to load them up in your down time, much like having to repack mags.

BOOM needs to do a modernized version because they've done a lot of upgrades to their recording equipment over the years, and this pack is from like 2010.
All the guns seem so anemic, The AK in particular is sooo hollow sounding and has some fairly bad animations. The sound of racking the bolt should be much louder and mechanical, ejection pattern is very close to the shooter it should be much more forward of the shooter around the 2 O’clock position, and fast it should be chucking them out must faster.
Overall, looks excellent. Need to make the SKS casings fly up and out of screen though, never seen one that doesn't throw cases like 20 feet. Thinking the AR15 based rifles must have bare threads in this instead of muzzle devices in this particular instance?
My biggest gripe is that the shell casings don’t eject like they would in real life. They should eject more violently. The M4’s case deflector shoots them forward and the Ak and Skorpion both send their brass sky high. Also audio doesn’t sound like actual recordings. Noticeable auditory difference from these weapons in real life.
The sounds are horrible. I hope game devs finally start realizing that audio design isn't just buying the BOOM Assault Weapons library and import the designed audio into UE because that doesn't cut it anymore.

Of course it's not terribly impressive, even in an Early Access release state. That said, it's still a fair bit of effort for an early pass at it. Enough of the fundamentals are there that I can see the animators delivering higher quality stuff. Still, in comparison to SCP:5k is another example in Early Access, that game had waaaay better animations and gunplay, even during its initial release. "Good enough" I suppose. I do like the animations being straightforward and practical. We need games that represent someone taking an action that's minimal and informative, i.e. doing a more deliberate and less flashy reload to retain a magazine, or a no-frills inspect to ensure the weapon is functional and not as a matter of aesthetic. Granted, I like flashier animations too, but the setting and tone are better reflected in the artistic direction of the current animations, even if it's barebones and function over form. People in gunfights usually don't aspire to showmanship for their own appreciation. Then again, I've never been shot at. I really hope these are more "place holder" than an accurate example of what's to come later though. Some of the fluidity and flash of FPS animations add a great deal to the quality of gunplay. Even if you smoothed these out frame by frame, the guns are very lackluster with the current player perspective. Between them being awkwardly held and handled, and certain frames missing (the AK's cycling animation is binaric from what I can tell), it makes the gunplay look stiff and unnatural. Not to mention the recoil kick is overstated and obscures targets far too much. Firefights will be messy for all the wrong reasons, and the experience will be overall unpleasant. I want to root for this game. Even though I have very good FPS skills, I generally dislike the gameplay loop of PVP shooters compared to PVE shooters. I don't get into the same state of flow in PVP, and it's harder to immerse oneself into a setting when PVP often necessitates "unimmersing" oneself from the game's fiction to think clearly and win.
