It's an early access alpha. Tarkov was just as bad when it released. Tarkov has had eight years to build on their game, and they basically ruined all that trust they had built up in the course of a week 😂
They took advantage of the Tarkov debate and released the game (even if Early Access) ahead of time. Unfortunately, you can see this in every single aspect.
Yes its confirmed they planned to release last year in March. Obviously wasn't ready. They planned to release it on April 25th after the 1 week access to streamers, but decided to push it back a week. They have been wanting to push the game out into peoples hands for over a year now.
@@animespiegel for the longest time they talked about how they wanted to release it during the Q1 of 2024, if they could manage to make it stable enough. so if anything, they have delayed for an entire month.
"The only somewhat reliable way I found to down enemies is to shoot 5.56 to the face" reminds me of the line from Scary Movie 3 *Decapitates an alien* "I found it! Without their heads they're powerless!" But really tho its like youre fighting the T-1000, dudes are just absorbing bullets.
its becuase of how they have made the damage system work unless you bleed out or damage an organ you wont die no matter how many shots you take there is no hitpoints. you bullets are phyical and leave cavities which also can cause damage
The videos of Gray zone feels like that typical commercials at 2Am that shows you "miracle" or "incredible" products working perfectly for the people whos using it in TV (TH-camrs who got lucky with not having issues about trying the game, and putting in his videos, "This game is the next revolution of the Extraction FPS genre") And then we have Nano, A normal person who decided to check out the product that he watched on TV just because it looked very interesting, and, after a couple of minutes, he realizes that the product was not that great as people was making it look (Nano is basically the 90% of the player base who got troubles entering into the game, and, it shows you how the game works in reality for much of us)
I've had less issues with this game than any other game out right now at launch. And only issue I get so far is an occasional stutter that lasts for 2-3 seconds when in a small area with 10 other players. Expectations of the brain-dead will kill this game before it gets out of early access
Let me guess, the ad on TV was from BigFryTV. Yeah... that turd and I go wayyyyyy back. I called him out for clickbait and that's the meltdown of someone I did respect but no longer do. See, like Nano, I saw the faults of this game and seeing some if not all of the same downsides as Tarkov decided against buying this. Tarkov is like an 8 year old still wearing diapers and pissing and shitting the bed. See BSG's meltdown and repeated meltdowns. Nano shares the same idea as many others, wait, give it a few more years in the cooker, then wait and see the result. 10/10 video Nano.
The reason the AI is so "tanky" is due to the health system and bullet cavities. bullets in grey zone actually cause cavities when hitting targets, and unless the bullet used penetrates deep enough to destroy vital organs on your target, they only lose blood. And the healthpool on blood is way to high, or bloodloss seems to be ridiculously low. So you can put mag after mag into an ais leg, but the moment a bullet comes close to their head they drop
Problem is they don't react to being shot, getting hit 3x with 7.62x39 will fuck you up no matter what, even if it's just flesh wounds. Enemies should at least have an incapacitated state, instead of just perfectly ok + dead.
@@CrabsJohnson they absolutely react to being shot. You even can see in this video how all AI litterally stop returning fire after getting hit once or twice and then miss completely when they return fire again
@Duck1en Yes but there's no animation state that shows that, so there's no feedback that's happening. Look at the NPCs from Stalker, they're also tanky but because they stumble and kneel when they get shot, it feels like you're doing a good amout of damage to them
20:15 game so broken it start to look like a horror game. "I don't have any gear" "The mini map is not updating anymore" "If you see someone, that's not me" Nano found his own dead body and the game end. Yup definitely horror experiences.
My very first experience with the game had me setting everything to low and turning on DLSS on performance. When I got on the chopper, my game stuttered so much and looked like a PowerPoint slideshow. Somehow, it desync-ed so bad my character was stuck on the seating animation even after the chopper dropped us off and my game returned to some stability. I had to end the deployment and exit the game, losing all my stuff. Even if your PC can handle this game, there is no guarantee the servers will. After turning on FSR and Frame Generation, I was still met with pretty nasty rubber-banding on every server. If you choose to buy this game, be warned that you're buying the promise of a game, not the game itself. Running on the very lowest of settings and FSR on with an RTX 2070, I was able to get an average of 50 FPS with frequent dips into the 10s and 20s. It's a shame that this game performs so poorly, especially since it's one of the releases I was most looking forward to. This game still has a lot of potential, but in its current state I would avoid purchasing it until they've let it cook for another 6 or 12 months.
Tried it on 1070, actually on medium settings I had approximately the same performance, the problem is not in hardware (mostly) Stutters in the beginning and occasional lags included, but in average I was able to achieve 50-60 fps with FSR on Performance For me this game gives potential, but I agree on that it's a promise of a game
If anything, it's an arma / ghost recon hybrid, with a pinch of tarkov inventory system. Its definitely struggling, especially with the servers, but that's hardly surprising with how many people tried playing it. This launch has been far, far better than tarkovs launch back in early 2017, yet fits a slower paced niche.
@@Losowy tbh its quite normal in many tactical fps games. First you go ADS down the sight with mouse2, then you press alt/shift to "focus zoom" and your player will hold his breath to make the gun sway less.
@@Losowy literally every game that has that feature... yea? Also, when you aim a gun in real life, do you just push your eyes out of your skull so you can see better? Lmfao
Remember that this game is made by a game company that it's previous experience is in mobile, that released games like Dead Trigger, Shadowgun, and Unkilled. Even with new developers in their team, they still need the experience. It's pretty buggy and unoptimized at the moment but if they can get things right with their first major PC release later on it'll be great. if not.... Expect a dumpster fire.
I'mma sound dumb while saying this but the reason why is because soft-point rounds are the absolute worst in this game from my experience. M193 takes 3-5 shots, soft-point takes 10 most of the time. Also depends on where you hit them at! You don't get M855 until mid-game, so...
I'm going to disagree with you. Not that soft point is ass because it is. But slugs, buckshot, sniper rounds, 7.62 fmg and 5.56 fmg all do nothing. In no video game should i put a slug round, followed by two buckshot, followed by two slug rounds Into a human and they not die. That would kill a rhino. @JoMiMi_h
the stutter is caused by shader compilation which is actually quite cpu dependent, this happens anytime you venture into a new sector of the map but once you've been in that particular part of the map for awhile it will go away. im playing on a ryzen 7 3700x which is far from being the best cpu you can own, and a rtx 4070ti super, ive been playing for around 11 hours now and its been pretty smooth so far, stuttering in the beginning hours but after that it was pretty smooth with the only real frame drops being from looking through magnified scopes because the game uses picture in picture to render scope magnification.
Hoping the frame drops when ads will be addressed soon. As far as stutters and frame drops go this is the biggest issue I’m having other other than loading in new areas
I've had some pvp in the bunker so far, grenades are inconsistent and players can take one shot or 50 to die like the AI. The only way to take anything down is a 5.56 to the face so far. the game has potential, once they actually fix the issues and add content and balancing patches
I think the biggest issue with the AI "health" system is that there is no real reaction to any hit. Every shot, even if it doesn't kill, should have some visual effect on the AI. If I shoot someone in the chest but their armor manages to stop it, the AI should still be incapacitated to some manner. Either they fall over, pass out, or in some way lose ability to reliably fight back. The over reliance on the "hit an organ to kill" means leg shots, which would completely immobilize someone and possibly incapacitate them, do virtually nothing because there is no vital organ. Shots to the head that are not lethal should be concussive for the AI, temporarily taking them out of the fight to recover from a grazing round or fully knocking them out for a long time. Arms should drastically reduce the AI's capability to shoot, affecting aim, reload times, and its ability to interact with the environment such as climbing. Tl;Dr Each shot should have a realistic effect on the AI, not just "You didn't hit my heart/lungs/brain? Try again!" This will drastically help the feel of combat, as you are able to reliably incapacitate AI or severely injure them with all kinds of ammunition without delivering the killing blow. AI just feel like bullet sponges because of their ability to shoot right back after their helmet stops a round from fully entering their skull.
I don't know about the way you want them to react because it would make AI too easy but id understand maybe a pause in their firing or maybe they have a flinch animation they're visibly stunned for a extremely short amount of time
@Cerberusfrosty I think making the AI actually smart in combat would help it being too easy, but that's a whole issue of it's own. Kinda seems as if the AI just side step and run around when they get shot or are shooting, which makes them really easy targets.
I like the less than lethal systems like missing critical hits but your argument stands especially from the perspective of the pain someone would have from getting hit in the rear end or something.
@@thekillerkreeper3046 they do react when you hit their arms or manage to nick a vital organ. One queue for a fatal shot is the AI screams out in pain and often stops shooting and tries to either self delete push you or retreat while firing. Also another thing most poeple haven't gone much out past the starter town out near the airport you actually meet some scary AI. Meanwhile tyhe starter town is mostly effectively gang memebers and not a cartel or similar. This is ignoring the brave few that have gone to ground zero where spicy things lay
The devs said it on their live event, The servers are maxed out thx to the big pressure of gamers testing the game, they will fix it and add more servers and hardware, its allot better today then yesterday for example.
Select content creators exclaimed how the game was good but not ready, lots of bugs and lots to work on. MANY if not ALL of the content creators agreed that the game should have taken another 6 months to a year to at the very least give a open beta or early access to the public. Content creators were flooding devs with bug fixes and telling them what to fix and add and take out and because so many people were bitching and crying that only select people got to play, the devs gave in and made it public and thats why you see so many review bombing about things the devs ALREADY KNOW and ALREADY HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE SELECT CONTENT CREATORS BEFORE EVEN BEING PUBLIC.

Refunded after constant crashes, stutters and rubber banding and super janky controls. Kinda sucks that so many content creators are just pretending like this is the next best thing since sliced bread. No one has integrity anymore.
IMO if you have not finished the beginner towns quest line then you really have had the full experience of the game then yet, but yeah even with that said it needs some work still... is it terrible no there is def something there.
If youre having trouble dropping enemies. Try using AP rounds or aiming for the head. Currently i think the game treats all AI as if theyre wearing body armor even if theyre not. You can test this by firing buckshot or slug into an enemies chest and watch as it takes every shell in the mag to drop them even if theyre only wearing a rig. Because i assure you a 12ga slug from 2 meters would blow a hole straight through you damaging every organ along its path, so for enemies to tank that and only have bruising and blood loss makes me think the game thinks they have on armor all the time. When i switched to AP rounds with 7.62, 5.45 and 5.56 i started dropping enemies with 1 shot to the head and between 2-5 shots even through armor. So long of course im shooting center mass or neck area, and not hitting their arms/legs That said! The games servers are struggling right now and crash around once every 2 hours or less. BUT if the server crashes then you keep everything you had on you even if youre deployed out of base. Its only when you alone DC from the server due to an issue with your internet that you lose everything. The performance issues are pretty annoying right now. enemies spawning inside walls but still able to shoot you, server crashes, rubber banding(not very much from my experience), stuttering for pretty much anyone on anything below a 3060 and anyone with a 3060 or better has to run the game on low to medium settings with dlss to get consistent frames. Im running a 3060ti and get 45-65 fps on medium with dlss quality or around 90-105 frames on fsr with frame gen set to quality(but it does look more blurry, so smoother performance but blurry). So it desperately needs a very large optimization update. All that said the game is not worth buying any of the special editions but it is still worth the $35 standard edition just to get accustomed to the game during its early days because the game still has some pretty decent gameplay(i say this as someone that dropped $100 on the supporter edition).
Devs fixed most of the issues you mentioned like the stuttering. The gameplay loop is incredibly fun. It just needs more content to do after the quests.
The only thing i dont like about the game is the fact that i put an entire glock magazine into an ai with several being headshots and had to run away while he still shot at me
It takes longer to kill because he was shooting the legs, the health system is different from Tarkov where u can kill enemies on the legs, Gray Zone has this blood mechanic so u can keep shooting their legs will only make them bleed faster but only die/comma when blood levels are low. You have to shoot at head/chest area for the vital organs
5:34 Maybe I'm a freak, but I like little to no "focus zoom" with ironsights and non-magnifying optics. I've lost count of the games where I've been annoyed by aggressive focus zoom. I've not once played a game and thought "I wish I was zoomed in more with their unmagnified gun". Like with RDR2 (I was playing it earlier lol), I'd love to play in the first person view, but they pretty much ruined it with heavily restricted fov and a focus zoom that is so harsh that it would mean Arthur/John would be holding the revolver hammer against their damn cheek. In a game set in a modern world, you get past "I can't see anything" with...magnifying optics lol.
Brain dead comment. Go watch big fry’s videos about this game. He points out more grievances than nano does in this video. He was even upset that the devs used a clip of him talking positively about the game in the release trailer. So many clueless people in the comments lol. I agree with the sentiment that it's better to wait, but for those who want to support the devs to get this where it can be then the purchase makes more sense. The smart consumer will wait till the game is in a less jank state. I think it shows potential, but needs a lot of work to get to where it can be. There are some systems in this game that are good ideas but need tweaking, and there are some that need major work. Wait if you aren't interested in supporting the devs monetarily, buy it now if you are okay with the games current state but want to support it. As @anabolicfreedom6005 shows, this game's community is just full of people BSing their experiences because they need to feel like they are sticking it to BSG/Tarkov. The number of people in the Gray Zone community that actually tears down other people having issues just because they want to so badly hate Tarkov is crazy to me. BSG is a shitty company, but how in the world can you ever convince yourself that Gray Zone is a more playable or better product in any way right now? If Tarkov had any of the same issues Gray Zone did it would be treated so much more harshly. Performance is one of the biggest complaints levied against Tarkov since the beginning. And still a very vocal issue everyone brings up. And Tarkov is no where nearly as badly optimized as Gray Zone. I was able to run a mid level 9th gen intel processor (4 core) with a 980 just fine on every map except Streets and one part of Lighthouse. I can't even run it with a much newer 8 core processor and 3080 ti. You have to be fucking kidding me if anyone in the community tries to convince me it runs fine. Who the hell is getting 200 fps and how? I'm not running the best system you can buy, but its still an upper end system by anyone's metric. More than 50% of users on Steam don't even use a GPU made in the last 2 generations. Of people that even do the most popular card is a base 3060. A 3080 ti would put you easily in the top 5% of gamers by GPU power. Just having any 8 core processor automatically puts well above the average. The game is so badly unoptimized that realistically almost no one can play it. And that's just one of many issues with the game. There have been reports of people having their character force reset/wiped after server crashes. People losing mission progress. Or hell just being stuck in base because the only way out is through helicopter. The game is a fucking wreck and people will close their eyes and ears to it all just because they want to actively hate Tarkov more? What the hell.
@xprodigyxgamer goes to show that you didn't take 5 minutes to optimize your game, or maybe the PC you own is ass, who knows who cares. I pull 150 frames easily cause I took the time to go through shit, but patience and reading are a virtue nowadays. Also they patched most of the reports but I guess that's why it's a pre-alpha, how is that so hard for people to understand. And bruh wdym there's no way out, fucking run if you have to, oh no you have to wait a couple minutes while playing a video game.
Quick inaccuracy that i notices, your character would not hold the knife like that, with the tumb on the spine, you appear to have a standard issue USMC KA-BAR, the KA-BAR has a little cross guard that would make that grip quite uncomfortable instead you would have all your fingers wrapped around the handle
So for everyone now, its still early excess, they even write about it in menu. You can started hating like always when its out completely and not early excess.
This game confused the hell out of me, at first it was giving me huge Arma 3 vibes making me think it was some new DLC then I thought it was some new Cod Warzone update since it's called "Zone Warfare"
this is buggy and dirty at some point (like AI) but that's a solid base to build a game. thats a game mode that i waited for a long time, got some hope from Ghost recon (but you never should thrust ubisoft). i'll give the devs some times to fix the bugs, improve the shooting and the AI.( and optimise it)

20:15 game so broken it start to look like a horror game. "I don't have any gear" "The mini map is not updating anymore" "If you see someone, that's not me" Nano found his own dead body and the game end. Yup definitely horror experiences.
More like nightmare experience.
If Nano has a 4090 and struggles with this game, my 2060 has no chance
I have a 2060 super and I’m getting around the same performance as nano. Shows it’s a big problem with the game rather than the hardware.
Granted my settings are probably way different than his lol
Use FSR and you'll be fine
Im rocking 100+ fps easy
Asjust settings as people have suggested and it plays fine for the most part.
@Garflog643 Are you sure? I'm still thinking in buying the game
Yea stop running gear from 10 YEARS AGO you idiot.
The lag the first time going in is caching and optimizing shaders
Dude you have a 2070 that card is so old .
Tried it on 1070, actually on medium settings I had approximately the same performance, the problem is not in hardware (mostly)
Stutters in the beginning and occasional lags included, but in average I was able to achieve 50-60 fps with FSR on Performance
For me this game gives potential, but I agree on that it's a promise of a game
You need minimum 3060 and above to play in my opinion. With my 4070ti and 7950x3d using the FSR native AA I'm getting a consistent 130-150 fps.

@@Arsen-b7r yeah tarkov and arma fits better
If anything, it's an arma / ghost recon hybrid, with a pinch of tarkov inventory system. Its definitely struggling, especially with the servers, but that's hardly surprising with how many people tried playing it. This launch has been far, far better than tarkovs launch back in early 2017, yet fits a slower paced niche.

The stutters and lobby issues I can understand.. The fact the AI STILL DOESN'T DIE is INSANE.
I'mma sound dumb while saying this but the reason why is because soft-point rounds are the absolute worst in this game from my experience. M193 takes 3-5 shots, soft-point takes 10 most of the time. Also depends on where you hit them at!
You don't get M855 until mid-game, so...
You have to shoot vital organs to kill anything. Can’t hit arms and legs they’ll eat it. It’s a cool concept but it needs work.
@JoMiMi_h
@@fitzwitsi one shot npcs with slug rounds dunno whats going on with your npcs. Maybe they just bugged?
Maybe I've been lucky, but so far all the AI I've shot go down in 1-3 hits.
the stutter is caused by shader compilation which is actually quite cpu dependent, this happens anytime you venture into a new sector of the map but once you've been in that particular part of the map for awhile it will go away. im playing on a ryzen 7 3700x which is far from being the best cpu you can own, and a rtx 4070ti super, ive been playing for around 11 hours now and its been pretty smooth so far, stuttering in the beginning hours but after that it was pretty smooth with the only real frame drops being from looking through magnified scopes because the game uses picture in picture to render scope magnification.
💯👍🏻
Hoping the frame drops when ads will be addressed soon. As far as stutters and frame drops go this is the biggest issue I’m having other other than loading in new areas
In the beginning _hours?_
I've had some pvp in the bunker
so far, grenades are inconsistent and players can take one shot or 50 to die like the AI.

Tl;Dr
Each shot should have a realistic effect on the AI, not just "You didn't hit my heart/lungs/brain? Try again!"
This will drastically help the feel of combat, as you are able to reliably incapacitate AI or severely injure them with all kinds of ammunition without delivering the killing blow.

So long of course im shooting center mass or neck area, and not hitting their arms/legs
That said!
Grey Zone comes out of nowhere with no previous fanfare, and suddenly every tactical youtuber is shilling it? Not trusting it for a second.

Also there is Additonal Zoom if u hold L ALT

You need zoom focus because you are looking at a screen. Everything else is unrealistic. If you had a vr headset on, that's a different story.

The smart consumer will wait till the game is in a less jank state. I think it shows potential, but needs a lot of work to get to where it can be. Wait if you aren't interested in supporting the devs monetarily, buy it now if you are okay with the games current state but want to support it. The lovely thing about free will is that you can choose what to do with your own money.
The big thing I’ve noticed is that you need to explore the map and then your PC will get optimized to that location
I can't believe people are still saying the game runs fine
180 FPS to 200… not having any stuttering issues. Rather play this then garbage Tarkov where hackers are running the pvp side.
