My dad bought a white one of these with about 3000 miles on it in 1987 ran it for 8 years or so only problems it had was a front shock gave up .and a clutch. nice car to drive not that fast. sold it to a friend who ran it for many more year. Great car.
One of my biggest regrets was getting rid of my U11 Turbo in 1998 after blowing the turbo. Mine was badged as just "Bluebird Turbo". Youthful inexperience let it go far too easily in favour of a BX GTi... such an error. Cracking interiors and great toys for the time. The U11 came with an adjustable height electric aerial, electric mirrors yet manual windows all round, a remote boot and petrol flap release (very cool for the time) and no central locking. Radio played from the front speakers and seperate tape player with tone controls and FF/RW from the rear speakers. Cloth interior was grey with red pinstriping stitched in and very hard wearing, not carried over to the T12/72. Sadly we never got the SSS version of the U11 in the UK. I think there was a V6 version available in JDM form. They always keep the best for themselves.... Just to add, I think yours is missing the front valance/spoiler/air dam below the front bumper, and unsure if that grille is period correct. The rear box originally had twin pipes with chrome trims. Bodywork looks suspiciously good.
Such a fantastic car I had an 85 which was the first imported from Japan and called an sr turbo, the pre face lift looked much better and had electronic suspension
This is an excellent car. Built Quality and engineering quality is superb. This is the one with the CA18 engine. I wish I had the chance to have my hands on one of these!
I ran the non turbo 1800lx for about 5 years, never a problem with it, sold it for twice what I paid for it 😁 Looks a solid & straight rust free car, easy project, can't be many left?
Got to be saved and restored. That would make a great series and if front wheel drive torque steer is your thing this is one way of getting your fix. As a very young Nissan main dealer tech, I worked and drove many of these and they were a great car. The Bluebird Executive model had the same engine with the leather trim. I don't think I ever saw a ZX with leather but it was a long time ago. I am pretty sure that the black radiator grille on that one in the video is wrong, I remember them being body coloured but cannot remember if they had front fogs. The dash switches would give the answer to that one. I'm definately looking forward to seeing more of this car on the channel.
I was 19 whent to DC Cooks and bought myself a brand new ZX in red just like that one. I had black leather electric seats, 3 way electric adjustable suspension, same wheels as that one i also had gold & black ZX Turbo decs, down both sides Great car and fun to drive.
Quality find Google it gets saved my granddad had an early Datsun bluebird rwd estate 1.8 always reliable in yellow but a bit of a rust bucket of had body work done and a respray in the end rust was it's end ,90 mph flat out and 70 with the roof rack with suit cases for holiday.
I can speak from experience (see my thumbnail pic) that parts availability is a mixed bag. Obviously interior is very hard so definitely a case of repair rather than replace. Good project worth saving - rare
I had a red Silvia the same as the one you have 1.8 turbo i sold it for £400 it only had 59000 miles on the clock i wish i had kept it they are quite rare now
It's looks a nice car in red some one do it up and keep it onthe road pluseput it away in the winteter to then bring it back out in the summer inscotlnd roads
My dad had Nissan blue birds in the 80s is last one was a 1.8 in the 90s thay were nice cars in the 80s my big brother game back from the army and head a shot it was fast wean he was driving it to
End of Q1 03/24 "Data from How Many Left" 11 Licensed & 57 SORN, so rather depleted yes, but worth saving, if only to get another ZX Turbo back on the road hopefully.

I think that needs saved. Not too many Bluebirds of that shape still around, never mind the turbo version.

135bhp back in 1990 or so was quite a lot. The car probably doesn't weigh much either.
