Brook Crist Outdoors Friendly tip- Get bowl of ice water then small kitchen towel dip towel in ice water , keep knife cold and clean with towel which will help you cut it perfectly .. then you don’t have to use the cling wrap !! Looks awesome , need invite lol
Hi Brook Is the bonito the same thing as bonita (the one in the tuna family not the macrel)? How did you all get the bonito to be pink rather than dark? I thought that you all did not like eating bonito and everyone calls it junk fish and uses it for bait. Do you have a way to prep the fish to make it less fishy?
Kudos to you! I've never eaten sushi, but you make it tempting for me. For a man who does so much work with your hands, your nails look professionally maintained and that makes a huge difference. Seeing ill-kempt hands on videos of people cooking meals (especially seafood) is such a turn-off. Keep up the good work.
Awesome video! Here's a little tip when it comes to cutting the sushi roll. Cut dead center first, now you have 2 rolls. Cut half of one of the rolls in the center again, then cut the half of the half. That way you'll be able to get same size pieces and an easier cut.
I really really like the tutorial in the show it would be awesome if you could keep doing it it's really good to compare how different people do the same thing it is amazing to learn thank you I can't wait to be able to get back to fishing my mom past away a month ago in the last month that she was with us she made me promise her to catch a big fish to eat at a family get together but I was not able to keep my promise before she left us so I have bin trying ever since and this situation doesn't help at all. Love you guys me and my wife both thank you. Stay safe.
Great video Victor, always good to see Brook with you (which is almost always), always enjoy both of yours channels, keep them rolling and may God bless you both and all your families!!!!!!! PEACE brother.....
Thank you for the "Rigging Station" part of the video. We would love to see more of these in the future. We would especially love to see how you Bridle the Planers. Thanks for your awesome videos. We love learning how to fish and cook from you guys! Cheers!
I just found your channel maybe an hour ago. I love watching catch, clean, and cooks! What I've seen so far has been great, and you now have a new subscriber!
Man I love your video when you proposed to Brooks I cry like a damn baby I'm a 64 year old that's that was you are a gentleman she is beautiful lady God bless both of you
Wow guys you are very blessed to enjoy fishing and making such an amazing dish...I'm so jealous my wife and I also make our own sushi at times but buying frozen tuna unfortunately. Still good but nothing beats fresh. Thanks for these videos...they're always entertaining like always. Hope to be fishing again...I miss it soooooo much😞
Great video. Loved that you showed us how to filet the tuna, the tackle, your set up and the rods, reels, line weight, etc. The sushi was amazing. I know you just caught a bunch of wahoo, but would like to see a wahoo sushi/sashimi prep/presentation video. Keep up the excellent videos. You and Brooke do great work.
Great video Vik. I totally appreciate any education that you offer. I’m a kinda go with what works girl. I’ve learned SO much from you and Brook. The first thing I’ve learned is being able to identify some fish. My hubby and I fish but haven’t fished on a boat yet. It’s my ultimate goal since I’m a lover of King Fish and cannot find it in any store to purchase since I’ve moved back to Florida. I’m a d.i.y. person to begin with so I have no problem doing the work to get what I want. I want to get to the point where I no longer have to buy fish in a market, I’d much rather catch them myself.😄 I’m not a fan of Sushi but I’ve throughly enjoyed watching you do your thing. Keep doing what you’re doing it makes me smile seeing that you AND Brook have posted a new video in my email in the morning. You two put a smile on my face first thing in the morning. Be well both you and Brook and your families and stay well.💓💓 Love you BOTH!
My dad invented a method for planet trolling where you use a small rope and tie the planet onto it and use outrigger clips on the line and it self releases like an outrigger so you don’t have to take it of with a risk of loosing the fish.
Friendly tip- Get bowl of ice water then small kitchen towel dip towel in ice water , keep knife cold and clean with towel which will help you cut it perfectly .. then you don’t have to use the cling wrap !! Looks awesome , need invite lol
Okay, I've fished a deep diver before but never hears of a bridle setup. Mine was just in line and not removable. Please show one in another video, and now I'm ready for a plate of that you just made! YUM!
Hey Vic, You should try just putting your wasabi in the soy sauce and mix it up. So much easier and you get a better ratio that way. Also when are you going to start that cooking channel. No better time to start them now!!!!
Hey Victor, have you ever done a catch, clean, and cook with a puffer fish or as DMFD says "toadie" puffer fish? Love to see how you guys would cook a few up! Really enjoy the videos Sir! Thanks for the great content.
Two things. Stop your rice 2/3 up the sheet. You only need enough rice for one revolution (to go around the filling). This will take a bit of bulk out of your rolls. They looked great as is though. Second, you need some KEWPIE mayo! Really the only mayo to use. Save that Duke's for your sammiches. Also a real easy upgrade to your rolls is tobiko or masago (tiny fish eggs). You can buy it in almost any Asian grocery in the frozen section. Oh, and I've seen you catch some scallops... spicy scallops (raw) are so good. And no work. Great vid as always.
Big tackle Tuesday fan here so thanks for the rigging part!! btw if you guys ever find yourselves near Doral there is a restaurant called Soya its one of the best Ive had and Im sure you guys would love it
Hey I just got the fishermen magizen and your on page 4g with Dexter outdoors and it's you with the Dexter knife and holding up a filleted wahoo I think, I'm from Rhode island so don't really know
Man so jealous that you guys can go fishing! Us in Washington State or on lock down until April 17th no fishing no clamming know nothing! We will get through this!
When I want to catch a lot of blackfin tunas in a short amount of time I look for blue waters from 180ft-400ft and I use 150g-200g fast speed vertical jiggs they help me the most & also around using them wrecks they love the wrecks
Don Víctor... I was wondering if you can make a little video on how to rig the planer so you don't have to bring the fish by hand the last few feet of line. I see that you take the planer off and keep reeling. I was wondering if you can share that knowledge. Thanks
I really like learning the tackle side as well as the strategy aspect as well. TH-camr, Outdoor chef life, just put out a vid on knife techniques for sashimi on amber jack...i think you'll like it. Tight lines 😎
Nice job as always! Can you show how you put your detachable planers together. It looks like you are using snap swivels, but the snaps are cut off. How does that work? Thanks
Yes fish can see color but and it is a huge but, light doesn’t penetrate into water evenly. In shallow water red light is seen and as you go deeper reds disappear. The deeper you go the more colors get lost. The blues are what penetrates deepest. So that red flash on your lure isn’t red at 100 feet because there isn’t any red light to reflect only blue violet and ultraviolet perhaps and some fish can see ultraviolet. So white and silvers that reflect may bd the best bet at depth. They will reflect any available light at depth. In shallow waters if you think a particular color is best go for it.
You should practice ikejime on the fish you catch specially on tuna and snappers. You’re gonna get a better quality meat specially if you’re gonna eat it raw. And also try aging the fish in your freezer or fridge for a few days up to a week or so. It brings out the real flavor of tuna. Fresh tuna that’s just out of the water tastes the same. If you age it for a few days, the real flavor comes out. Tuna flavor is based on what their diet is. And also if you do decide to age your fish, try using pichitto water absorbing sheets. It removes excess moisture from the fish or meat without affecting the umami of the food. Try it and you’ll see a huge difference in quality and flavor of the fish or meat
cilantro seared tuna is on another level!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Brook Crist Outdoors Friendly tip- Get bowl of ice water then small kitchen towel dip towel in ice water , keep knife cold and clean with towel which will help you cut it perfectly .. then you don’t have to use the cling wrap !! Looks awesome , need invite lol
Sound yummy minus the cilantro
Brook Crist Outdoors Cilantro tastes like soap to me

pro tip : watch movies on Flixzone. Been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
Best presentation of your sushi I have seen in any of your videos!!!
i wonder why this channel is not reaching a million subs you guys are killing it bless
Awesome video! Here's a little tip when it comes to cutting the sushi roll. Cut dead center first, now you have 2 rolls. Cut half of one of the rolls in the center again, then cut the half of the half. That way you'll be able to get same size pieces and an easier cut.

Definitely bring back tackle Tuesday. And make some vlogs
Now that’s a delicious looking sushi Platter
Yummy...I love sushi. I have many recipes. Try some chili spiced pineapple, tahini, a tart spicy sauce, and the avocado rolled in the Nori. It's good.
Great video. Loved that you showed us how to filet the tuna, the tackle, your set up and the rods, reels, line weight, etc. The sushi was amazing. My dad invented a method for planet trolling where you use a small rope and tie the planet onto it and use outrigger clips on the line and it self releases like an outrigger so you don’t have to take it of with a risk of loosing the fish.
I've seen quite a few people using this and it allows you to use lighter tackle but you have to let out twice the lines
Friendly tip- Get bowl of ice water then small kitchen towel dip towel in ice water , keep knife cold and clean with towel which will help you cut it perfectly .. then you don’t have to use the cling wrap !! Looks awesome , need invite lol
One of my favorite channels 👍🏾
5:40 Anyone else hear "Welcome to the Jungle" in the background?

5⭐ star dish🍽🔥
Man so jealous that you guys can go fishing! Us in Washington State or on lock down until April 17th no fishing no clamming know nothing! We will get through this!
Can’t you use the skin for strips for trolling?
When I want to catch a lot of blackfin tunas in a short amount of time I look for blue waters from 180ft-400ft and I use 150g-200g fast speed vertical jiggs they help me the most & also around using them wrecks they love the wrecks

Don Víctor... I was wondering if you can make a little video on how to rig the planer so you don't have to bring the fish by hand the last few feet of line. I see that you take the planer off and keep reeling. I was wondering if you can share that knowledge. Thanks
Great vid and now I’m craving 🍣. Thx a lot bud. Lol.
Do you ever grill the collar and make hamachi kama?
Great sushi. Did you season the rice? And I recommend cutting the nori in half when you make sushi.
I am waiting for the restaurants open up!!!!!
Please do a video on the after the catch before the filet. How long do you wait to filet after the catch?
I really like learning the tackle side as well as the strategy aspect as well. TH-camr, Outdoor chef life, just put out a vid on knife techniques for sashimi on amber jack...i think you'll like it. Tight lines 😎
You should do a pinkish catch clean cook
You need to add Tamanoi Sushinoko to the rice. It will give you the balance and boost of roll. Also use Maggi Soy Sauce. Well worth the price.
good work
Nice job as always! Can you show how you put your detachable planers together. It looks like you are using snap swivels, but the snaps are cut off. How does that work? Thanks
Hey really good video very instructive ,victor do you have any code or an advise we’re to buy those avet reels?
I wish you would do a segment on the 4 sauces you did on fish tacos .
Yes fish can see color but and it is a huge but, light doesn’t penetrate into water evenly. In shallow water red light is seen and as you go deeper reds disappear. Yes back to the rigging
