What a fun, funny video to watch! Pretty Sheepshead- wanted more candy! That dish looked Yum! Yep, Tyler, I have pics of you in trees! & many memories of catching lizards, frogs & fish!! LOL
Keep it up Victor. Awesome content and guests! You are living the life I always dreamed of sir before I became disabled, fishing is one of the most therapeutic ways to help my PTSD & COPD. 😊 plz tell your phenomenal wife Brook I said hi and I will keep resubscibing to both of your channels. Not sure why TH-cam keeps unsurscribeing all my channels.
Comment again. Sheepshead are delicious!!! Dad always just fried fish it’s all we knew, until he built a smoker, for pork and smoked mullet. ohh my goodness the fish cooking would change forever, so I never knew different until in the 80’s. It was a journey in learning how delicious fried sheepshead could be more amazing. Anyway it’s excellent!! I was having old guys memories.
Don’t listen to the people hating on you! Enjoy the videos all the time enjoy the cooking the most! You love what you do and it shows!!!!! If they don’t like it they shouldn’t watch. And your wife’s videos are just as good. Thank you
@@eriklarson9137 some people on here were complaining about his thumbnail pics and beating Landshark up about all his thumbnails and calling them clickbait! Look closer at some of the earlier comments
I realized his thumbnail looked different than the actual fish but didn't give a f*ck because I love fishing. 😂 people gotta find something to complain about.
Id love to go fishing out in Florida one of these days. I'm from California and have only been west coast fishing. I love watching your videos to see the technique that you guys use back east. Love the video man I always watch your channel. Kyle from LA
Love your content. We target sheepshead in MS @ train bridge in Bay St. Louis….. for everyone you actually see, there’s usually two or three you don’t in that area. I kinda quit worrying about “sight” fishing for them and just started hunting structure w/ most barnacles. Another tip, scrape the barnacles off a post, back up and drop a crab on the spot. BOOM!
Add a half a package of Panchetta to the succotash along with the Kielbasa to kick it up some. Also look around down there for a Polish deli or market, I'm sure there's one around, to get you sausage. So much better that what you can get in Publix. Looked good. Sheepshead are a treat for sure!
What a fun way to fish for sheepies. When fwe would fish for them under bridge pilings we would scrape the barnacles off the bridge with an edger to chum them up. Your succotash recipe is great, I will copy that. You have been hitting the gym Vic as you are ripped.
I’m a big fan of your channel and have been watching you for a long time. I also enjoy Brooks channel a lot. You both have great content and I always appreciate the effort you put into cooking what you catch. I have made several of your recipes with great results so thank you for that. I have to say though that your thumbnails are getting ridiculous and have just turned into clickbait. Your content is too good to stoop to that nonsense. It makes me not want to watch an episode when I see some ridiculous fish photo that doesn’t look anything like the actual fish.
Vic - were y’all not worried about gators?? Nearly mating season. It looks like a blast catching those mangrove crabs… but I’d never willingly jump in the creek I live on in Sarasota
I saw an old school fisherman once that used his own scaler it was a cut out piece of wood kind of shaped like a paddle but smaller made to size one end wider than the other and through the wide end he had driven several 4 or 5 inch nails, they looked that big like in a square pattern I don't know how the wood didn't split but that scaler worked great as I saw him using it
Look at the teeth on those sheep. Fished with 2 of my uncles outside of Jacksonville beach some where. Small fiddler crabs as bait. Caught a sh** load of em. Took us forever to clean em all. Then ,, we fried em all up. Sheeps head fish fry. Never forget it.
growing up in florida and catching lizards when I was younger, I used one hand to distract them. you can tell when they lock on onto the distracting hand because they will literally turn their head to it. thats when you use the other hand to catch them. worked like a charm. wonder if it'll work on the fiddler crabs
Same up in Duval. My brother and I would round up about 30-40 fiddlers down by Mayport, the go up to the Jax Beach pier. We'd pull so many Shhepshead off the pilings, it wasn't fishing, it was catching.
Years back out on Sanibel Island at Ding Darling wildlife preserve,,My wife and I found a spot full of Big Sheepshead!! She caught a massive 1 and the teeth were actually growing outwards like Buck Teeth the fish was huge !!! We also had some docks inside a deep pass in Lovers Key that were loaded with big Sheepshead in the winter time ,,,We would anchor the boat about 5feet off the dock and just cast under it and would catch some Big Sheepshead !!! Actually had hooks broke cause we had to horse them out of the pilings and the fish were so Big they broke the hooks on the Live Bait jig heads we used with shrimp !! I like sheepshead they eat good and I fish for food!!! We always let smaller guys go since they have those ribcages and u don't get as much meat from the smaller keepers ,,,
I’d love to have a day catching Maya cichlids all day long. If a Sheepshead hit along the way, well bonus time. Just a great day fishing with a good friend enjoying the water and outdoors, who could ask for more?
Sheepshead. When you thinking you’re getting the bite 🤔🤔set the hook. They are sneaky. In my younger years, I caught 100’s walking jetties. Convict fish because they will steal your bait. Excellent tasting and a challenge to catch
Man those size mayans are absolute blast on ultra light gear. Those fish are no longer south Florida fish we have them thick over here in Tampa bay as well. I actually find them more fun then bass.
It is are really hard to catch the little crabs when it’s hot. They move like lightning around the tree and just when you think you got em they jump. My PB Mayan is 13 inches. Nice video. Sheepshead is my favorite inshore to eat.
I live in Minnesota we fish sunfish like that a 10 inch fish is a big fish earth worms and minnows are the best bait we get bigger fish but not a lot and they are very smart
Many many years ago I lived in Treasure Island and I hooked a great Sheep head and he was Delicious and right down the road at Johns Pass where me my dad and my mom went and I hooked up 10 Spanish one right after another but one was to small. Gave my dad 3, mom 3 and 3 for me because back then you can only take 3. Worked for me!!! I love your clips and if
haha catching those crabs is crazy. dont yall have speckled crabs ? here in texas i go out at night with a flashlight and find speckled crabs just at the waters edge on the sand, good sheepshead bait. we have a sheepshead run feb-march here in texas and the jetties are stacked with fishermen cause all the sheepshead head to the rocks. the reall large ones dwell out on our oil rigs and theres tons of em
Sheepshead belongs in stew or soup. It's some of the best fish in the ocean to stew or some kind of soup. However u want. But it flakes up so perfect it's amazing
On holiday in Greece their were crabs 🦀 like that on the rocks they spent more time in the sun than some tourists and they were impossible to catch by had but I really wanted to try them as bait because I knew some local species of fish would have taken them including the big octopus I saw, instead I ended up fishing 🎣 with balls of bread with the locals rig of 4 tiny hooks 2 pushed in the bread 2 exposed and cast it out into the deep harbour and you would catch either 4 20z thin lip mullet or 1 × 5 to 10lb mullet I caught 1000s or small and a few big ones the biggest was 7lb 30z a mega fight on a 1000 drama starter kit rod n reel.
Not really. The American Alligator is rarely found in salt water, and the American Crocodile is very cryptic and quite rare. I'd be more worried about getting a Staph infection than being attacked by a crocdilian in those waters, TBH.
Im on the west coast, but my fishing buddy went to Florida to fish, and he says, Sheepshead is about the very best tasting fish hes ever had. We catch rock cod out here, and its great, but I NEED to get to Florida
Indeed used to waist hours catching crabs for sheepshead. Then an old timer showed me the cheat code…. Barnacles!!!! 10 minutes at any bridge or piling with a shovel and bucket, I get enough bait and chum to last the entire day. Now the water is so polluted in my area that I won’t eat anything that comes out of the bay. Which is the only reason I am sharing the cheat code
All the people thats complaining about clickbait pls stop bc if you really believe a sheepshead is that big n they teeth look like they go to the dentist weekly then maybe you need to watch more fishing videos and stop complaining.. its a good picture to me , yes its edited but its not like in the title he said he caugh like a 100 pound sheepshead..
World record is 21.25lbs...they can pretty much get as big as his thumbnail. Some people just don't understand perspective and never learned how to make 4 inches look like 8 😉🤣

Yes!!!🙌 glad to see the teeth on fish again 😂. Keep it up
Amazing video! Definitely on my bucket list to one day catch some Sheepheads.
Vic your videos are amazing, you don’t need to put those exaggerated clickbait thumbnails
That funny. I was in the middle of watching your sheepshead video from last year when I got the notification for this one. Love your videos!

Cooking Sheepshead on the" Half Shell" (Skin on) was a learning experience. Never tried that with SW FL Sheepshead. Nice
Try Snapper like that and be prepared to be blown away.

Use the juice from the corn instead of the water. That looks amazing
Luckily I had lunch just before checking this out, so the saliva flow was minimal!

my research has lead me to believe it was a fish.
