  • This video demonstrates how to fix an error in a purl column when working 1/2 Fisherman's Rib.
I suggest using a crochet hook and needle stoppers for this technique.
With the right side of your work facing you, identify the purl stitch that needs to be repaired.
Place the needle stopper on your right needle, drop the stitch from your left needle and place another needle stopper on that needle.
Take note of how the stitches are formed.
Undo the first stitch, which is a basic purl stitch and place loop behind your work.
Notice that the 2 yarn strands on the right of the next stitch are crossed. The back loop is the next one you need to gently pull out to undo the 1st part of the stitch, then gently pull out the next loop and place behind your work, noting the order that they should be picked up. We will be working in pairs of 2 until the last stitch which is a single stitch.
Once you've undone the stitches it's time to pick them back up.
Take the bar that is 2 away from your hook and place in front of your live stitch. Place your hook in the live stitch from back to front, and pull the yarn through, creating a purl stitch, repeat for the 2nd stitch.
Repeat in this manner for all pairs until the last stitch, place final loop in front of live stitch and pull through.
You can place that final stitch back on your needle and adjust tension if needed. It's all fixed and ready to be worked.

Thank you. I turned it on the wrong side so I could knit them instead. 🙏💕

Thank you, I'd figured out how to do it from the back side but in some ways this is easier even if It is doing purls. I don't know why but I keep dropping those purls somewhere, I think on the back side, and this is just what I was looking for!
