Half Fisherman's Rib - Right Leaning Double Decrease (RLDD)

  • This video shows you how to work a Right Leaning Double Decrease when knitting the Half Fisherman's Rib Stitch.
    This is worked on the right side of your fabric and begins at a K1B column and is worked over 3 stitches.
    I like to break it down in steps.
    Step 1 - (Sl1P from B) Slip 1 stitch from below, purlwise, from left needle to right needle.
    Step 2 - (K1 stitch and PSSO). Knit the next stitch on your needle, pass the first slipped stitch over.
    Step 3 - Pass next stitch over. In order to this you must prepare the stitch as follows: Insert the right needle purlwise into the stitch below and place on right needle, return the stitch to the left needle. Slip the stitch from your right needle to your left needle and now you are ready to PASS the next stitch over. To complete the process, you must return the worked stitch to your right needle.
    In order to undo a Right leaning decrease, you will have to reverse the steps worked above, starting with Step 3.
