- Extending your Thai visa for another 30 days is not as easy as it sounds. Fortunately I found a very reputable agency that delivers the goods.

Eddie is a story teller. That is how he makes money. Take it all with a grain of salt including the I have stopped drinking, retiring in Asia and getting his rocks off with prostitutes. It is all baloney.
So he is not in Thailand and can’t get a boner? Got it, thanks for the insider update

I don't understand why you are renewing your tourist visa when you originally said you were immigrating to Thailand?? Would that not be a totally different process
And he bought a return ticket back to the UK🤷♂️
tell tale sign of things do not go as planned.
Despite what he says on YT , he is not really retiring in Thailand. Just an extended trip.
@@ricke6854 He may be retiring to another country. Either way he's said in numerous vlogs that's he's leaving the UK for good 🤷♂️.
I'm sure this is recon trip to various places. Penang in Malaysia is a good for for Ed!
Its always nice to see the exchange rate getting better
That is exactly why I now live in Cambodia. Once a year, I go a couple of blocks to my agent, and give her my passport, a latest photo and $300. One week later, she lets me know that my passport is back with my new visa good for a year. What could be easier?
where did you choose to live in cambodia? lots to like about cambodian retirement visas.
Regarding visa’s - a better option would be to get a ‘non O’ retirement visa along with a multi entry stamp. The visa is good for 15 months, and you can come and go from the country as you please. The cost through an agency will vary, but normally around 28,000 baht for the first year and half that for subsequent years. They will sort out the money and the 90 day reporting. If Thailand is to be your base while you take frequent trips abroad, this is by far the best option.
Best option by far is to learn how to do it yourself. Don’t waste your hard earned on agents. Is everyone here a multimillionaire?
Non o will be what I shall be getting for sure 🙏😊🇬🇧
Got my retirement visa bank account and multi entery from a agent took 2 day ,I now have a 15 month visa .paid £1,000 but well worth it .
Not if he wants to continue to make TH-cam videos, what is happening at this very moment is many TH-camrs on retirement visas are being investigated and will be facing themselves in strife, if you are making TH-cam revenue you are working , if you are working you are not entitled to a retirement visa.
@@G-rig6969 you have me wrong here,I am not fussed on anyone making anything at all, make as much as you can, I have been living here for a decade, I am saying that the literally as we chat the Department of revenue and the department of immigration are working to catch those that are in breach of there visa's

The moral to the story. A couple of pints and a dirty massage are the answer to any visa problems. 👌
😆
It IS simple - hundreds do it at Jomtien every day for 1900 baht. 5,000 is daylight robbery.
Wouldn't you want to know all this before arriving...
@@michaelg6641 Only Eddy doesn't know
@@ozzy6668 Ozzy, Eddie does know, he said it right on the video mate. But he doesn't like to stand around in the queue.
@@KiwiInPhilippinesAgents do it for approx 1900, last time I done one, I sent my passport to my agent and 4 days later I got it back.
About 9 months ago I used a agent and it cost 4000baht for 30 day visa extension
Why is it that youtubers always have problems when extending?? I walk into my local immigration and get it done within 10mins. 1900 THB.
Ed, Cambodia is far easier and welcoming.
I’m 61 too, just enter Cambodia on a visa on arrival but apply for the ‘ordinary’ at the desk visa and not the tourist (T) visa. $35 approx.
The difference between the tourist visa and the ordinary visa is that you can then apply for the ER extension of stay visa here for 3-6-12 months. The 6 and 12 month ER visas are multiple entry.
I went through an agent and paid for the express service.
Ok it cost $430 but I had the 12 month visa multi entry back within 18 hours.
All that was needed was a brief application form stating the address of my apartment here.
You can go through the official channels near the airport here and pay $180 for the same but it takes 1-2 weeks and they require lots of documents.
My ER (extension of stay, retirement visa) can be extended indefinitely.
Thanks for your info
The tourist (T) visa on arrival cannot be converted into an ER 12 month extension of stay. The Ordinary visa on arrival (E) can, both are the same price. Easy to get a one bedroom serviced apartment with wifi, gym and pool in BKK1 (near Aeon 1) for $500 a month.

So can I do a land crossings from Thailand into Cambodia and automatically get a 30 day visitor visa at no cost??

Hi Eddy, next time simply get a baht bus to Jomtien for 10/20 bt. Use the agent next door to Immigration, pay 4k baht & they do it immediately. No need to go back. A friend of mine did this recently (11th Jan). Just sayin.
Great advice 👍
I did my 30 day visa the same way Used a Baht bus both ways from central. Picked up same day. 4,000 baht complete Very happy
Question.... would a "border run" have been easier?
I know a guy in Soi 6 who does a ‘visa run’ for you to get your passport stamped out and in …. you don’t even have to leave the bar!
@@BuyOneGetOneFree handing your passport over to a stranger?
@@davidkemp5798 The regulars in the bar were doing it for years. Never had a problem as far as I know!.. They would all get their passports back next day fully stamped no questions asked.

I easily got my 60 day visa online before leaving Canada. Total cost $65 CAD for a single entry visa, and got approved in 3 days.
What a whirlpool of emotions in one video. You should try a weed shop every so often Ed 🤪👍
I went to Japan recently and got a straight 3 months on arrival, you would love it there.
I watch a western dude who lives there and shows daily living costs. And it is not expensive.
More than 40 quid a month in visa fees is pretty outrageous😢
Well , sh.thole tax
Live in a country where you don’t have these problems 🥵
I have been once in 40 years.
Towards the end of the video you answered the question in my mind which was why you didn't just get the 60 day tourist visa whilst still in the UK. Only 30 quid and no longer a requirement to send off your passport to the Thai consulate as it's now an E-visa. Couldn't be easier, got my E-visa within just a couple of days. I have experience of having to go to the Jomtien immigration office to get a 30 day extension and never again, it was a nightmare. I too on that occasion used an agent which I would recommend to anyone wishing to extend their stay.
Ed, long time subscriber of you. I'm in same position as yourself, arrived and got 30 day visa which I extended for another 30 days. What's your plan when the extension runs out? Cheers
Those meals were phenomenal value!
No, they were ‘bloody good’ value
When will you apply for your retirement visa? Are you really committed to staying long-term? (Btw, I hate liver!)

Eddie , a friend i met in Pattaya took me to 1st Class Visa on Soi 6 in the Queen Victoria Inn. The person to speak to is Pa. She speaks very good English. They have the best Visa Runs to Cambodia . The Visa Run to Cambodia , their vans have less seats than other Visa shops. They include breakfast and dinner on the day of the Visa Run @ Queen Victoria Inn. Of course they offer all the good assistance for Jomtien Immigration also. Well worth checking it out. Cheers from Canada. Take Care..
It’s great in the UK at the moment you don’t know what your missing 🎉
No vise runs / no hotels too pay for, I even cook Thai food here too lol, no need to smell the stinking drains in Pattaya, I even brew my own beer so only 50p a pint
I Went to the immigration with my Apartment contract photo & passport last June,
I went very very late overslept from a heavy night arrived about 4pm went straight to the counter handed my documents to the operative in the new building on the right who filled in my forms & was told to go straight to the immigration officer in the main building
paid my 1900b fee, then was told to return back to the new building waited a futher 1 hr my passport was handed back to me all stamped for another 30days !!, was well chuffed couldn't believe it.
So it paid to go late where they help you to push things quickly
Put it down to lesson learnt Eddy. JT is hard because you got so many Expats & tourists there. Most Immigration offices are easy. I went Udon Thani yesterday to extend my retirement visa & in & out all done in about 40 mins.
Same thing in Chiang Mai. 👍
Yes a lot easier to do in other immigration offices around different parts of Thailand because they are not so busy, even easier if you have a Thai wife.
Eddy what happens after 90 days? you have to leave the country and come back and start the whole process again.
Can’t you get a long stay retirement visa.
In Indonesia we get 1 year visa then that changes to 5 year visa. I go in every 5 years for a new stamp, only takes about 1 hour
That's £110 for a 30 day extension sounds expensive. It would of been cheaper to fly to KL on a budget airline Asia for a few days.
Yes, it's expensive, but there I met people who speak highly of that agency
Hi Eddy. Met you in A7DJ bar about 3 weeks ago or so during one of Nick's Sunday livestreams. Is it true that even if you hire an agent to extend your visa for another 30 days you still have to go to Jomtien? Reason I ask is I'm returning in December for 90 days on a 60 day tourist visa and I'm not sure how to go about the extension process.
Yes, the agent took me and others in a car to Jomtien, but in and out in minutes. They just want to take photo
Eddie everyday you are still above ground is a bonus.
You certainly made that hard for yourself Ed. If you’re staying you better get used to it ❤️🇹🇭🙏
I was In jomtien 3 weeks ago extending my visa, I used a photo that I had taken in the uk, so you don’t need the photo taken there ??
The massage parlour experience was the saviour to your conundrum. Good to know that no one was disappointed 😊
I thought you were here to get a retirement visa,it's easy to start the process by getting a O Visa first.or have you changed your mind now?

The trick to dealing with Jomtien immigration is do it over two days. Do the picture and photocopy stuff one day and then come back the next morning. Makes it bearable.
When eddie gets angry thats the scouser coming out
nothing involving govt offices is ever simple, Eddy! Nop matter where in the world, they all are a problem bc they don't have any competition.
Here you book a time, so easy
I can see a problem coming up in the future where you are going to need a new passport because all your pages will be stamped up each month. How do you plan to avoid this?
You just get the additional pages added to your passport. The US Embassy in BKK might be able to do this.
Thanks Ed for the video 😎
I can understand your frustration. I'm glad I've got myself a 60 day visa for my visit in March.
How long is the average wait in the queue??
Eddie, i recently did my 30 day extension with an agent in New Plaza for 4500 bht, and transported by car for the photo, parked across the road and straight in for the photo and out in 5 minutes.
Is Thailand as good as it was?
Do you have to go through this bollox every month for the rest of your life there or is there a point where can you claim residency?

Can people still do a border run to Cambodia for visa extension or is that now not allowed ?
The immigration guideline for max stay on tourist status used to be 90 days in any 6 month period but that got changed to 180 days in any Calendar/Tax year & now with the change to the Tax rule & anybody in Thailand more than 180 days being as tax resident I would imagine Thailand are going to enforce this more rigidly. You can still do border runs but you are only allowed a max of 2 entries into Thailand at land or sea borders on visa exemptions in any Calendar/Tax year. So in a Calendar/Tax year you can fly in get a visa exemption & extend 30 days. Then do 2 land border runs coming in each time on visa exemptions that you extend for 30 days & add all that up & it’s 180 days in a Calendar/Tax year.
Just depends on how long the line is tbh. Sometimes it takes ages, sometimes I just fly through
Eddie question did you have any agro with getting a 1 way ticket from uk to thailand..
I got a return
I agree Eddie, they do occasionally ask for proof of onward travel on a tourist visa
Was it a return within 30 days?
I can't think I have ever had to show my return ticket on entry.
HI Eddy Glad to here that you have got your visa sorted out.
Sorry Eddy I thought by now you would have cut down on the English food and started eating Thai food.
I thought you wanted to forget about the UK so cut down on English food sorry what was that last meal fish fingers chips and baked beans forget that have noodles or Rice
The visa agents I talked to all told me about the requirement to go to Immigration first thing, but they also said it would be quick. Not sure why you are acting like you are surprised by any of it. As long as you go early it's not a big deal getting the extension done yourself. I was in and out in about an hour but I was there right when it opened.
Edd may God bless you!

Hi @addamr
Because they want the Chinese in , and mostly they’re not mongering in Pattaya , they spread their cash around the country not in one area

@davidpattison,5860 I've seen bus loads of Chinese tourists at markets only buying a handful of souvenirs etc hardly economy changing tourists . Perhaps it's the business and property buying Chinese tourists you mean .
Hi Ed one question: UK/US National after 30 days visa free have to pay and renew monthly 5000 baath if they want to stay let's say 3 months is this right??
You get a 30 day visa exemption stamp on arrival & you can only extend that for 30 days one time. If you want 3 months without having to leave the Country & come back in then you can get a 60 day tourist before you come & extend that one time for 30 days. The visa extensions cost 1,900 the rest Eddy paid was agent fees. Pattaya has lots of Expats & Tourists but most other immigration offices are easy & you can do it yourself.
I got agent to do me extra 30 day visa, 1 - paid her the fee, got photo on soi buakhaow, and went to immigration in jomtien, shown to front of the desk and handed in passport and photo, got taxi back to Pattaya in the time it took the driver to turn around !!! Simple and totally stress free, used the agent in the maleez lodge hotel reception area . Passport delivered back to hotel next day all juiced up for another 30 days 😊
