Yamaha I love your motorcycles, and I am fond of your brand. That is precisely why I get angry and do not understand why you are so slow in responding to the competitors and market demands. In particular the comparison with Honda is embarrassing: 1) Everyone complains about low horsepower in the 700cc range. Last year Honda started selling the Hornet 750, a 2 cylinder naked in direct competition with the mt07. It has the horsepower asked by people (92HP!!), better chassis, electronics all at the same price as the mt07, and for 2024 you did nothing. The mt07 has always been among the top selling bikes, how many of them are you planning to sell this year? Why can't you do a little upgrade to the CP2 and give it that extra 15 horsepower that literally everyone is asking for? How is it possible that Honda can sell at the same price a bike that offers significantly more than yours? What would happen to the R7's already low sales if honda decided to put out a supersport bike with the hornet engine? Excluding the indisputable beauty of your bikes, which currently seems to be the only strong point along with reliability, why would anyone choose them considering competitors? 2)You stopped selling an iconic bike like the R6, by saying that with pollution regulations you could no longer homologate it. Now Honda and Kawasaki are selling again the cbr600rr and the zx6r. How is it possible that they can sell an EURO 5 600cc with 4 cylinders and you can't? Why are you always late? 3) People have been asking you for an R9 for years, and every year you put it off, despite the absence of a true mid-range sportbike in your catalog. Why? How it's possible that if someone want a supersport bike can only purchase a 2 cylinders bike with 75hp or a 4 cylinders with 200hp? The R7 is a city bike for beginners, the R1 is a great bike for professional riders during track days, not very usable on the road. Come on it's not hard to understand that there is somenthing missing in the middle! Why you take years to understand what people want?
I don’t agree with “R7 is a street bike for beginners” No. The R7 is a supersport bike chassis, weight and brake-wise. It has a twin for beginners yes. Which makes it good for everyday usage yes.
