Legit thank you for putting the little “rider is okay” message after that wreck early on. My palms were sweaty enough just watching the race as is (I’ve never seen bike racing like this on a walled circuit like this, it looks absolutely psychotic), I think worrying about that dude getting rocked by the people behind him would’ve done me in. I appreciate you.

Honestly turn for turn, Monaco looks way tighter than this track. They could be about the same though given bikes are smaller but the chicanes in Monaco are definitely way tighter and slower.

Relatively the bike is way thinner to thread the needle.. but its your head thats next to a wall going these speeds .. thats pretty tight
Bikes are insanity… the leather only saved from rugburn.. if you mess up… its like filling a glove with water..
Games are looking so good these days,it sometimes takes a few moments to work out if a video is real or not. The start of this video almost looks so insane that I thought it was game footage! Another awesome video from Murtanio!

It took me about two minutes to realise this is a real race not a racing video game, quality is stunning.
Took me the whole video, I didn't realize until the NPCs disappeared when he crossed the finish line
The dynamic range and autoexposure response of that action cam are insane. Makes it look like a video game, at times.

@@pachma405it is real, its just been edited in post production to add motion blur, clean out the sound, and make the VOD pop a bit more.
If you can't tell the difference between real and fake in this obvious a video, i have no hope for you when animated graphics actually get decent.

Incredible. I was there in 2023 and was so crazy to hear the sound echoing around the whole city, especially from 07h in the morning
Wow! this is how all races should be filmed from now on. so incredible to watch, I seen somebody else comment how they were trying to work out if this was a game or real life, same boat here because for the most part video games just look so clean and realistic now leaving conventional recording methods behind but this is definitely the best onboard I've ever seen and when the rider wiped out I was clenching my teeth!
In my opinion bike game graphics are not yet quite as convincing as this footage.
This shit is nuts. Street racing is one thing, but at least they have gaps and are mostly racing against he clock like in rally. A whole pack elbow to elbow this close to steel barriers? Huge respect to these guys.

I remember watching this the first time it was posted, and was totally convinced that it was actually video game footage instead of a real life race, the colors are just so vibrant and so clear. The perspective is great, as a rider, and sitting on my couch, I found myself leaning into the curves as I watched. 😳

Macau is one of my favorite race tracks for any motor sport.
It looks amazing on a bike though, the sun and trees, tall building, rustic walls and close barriers. Chefs kiss.

Try this one. " Fastest EVER Lap of the Isle of Man TT | Peter Hickman - 136.358mph". The 136mph is average speed. He does well over 200mph at times in this video. May I suggest you keep a fresh pair of boxer shorts close by. Lol.

I didn't realise it cut to the fast lap and was like "Hey, where did they go?". Great riding, mate. Fought well to get right back up behind them after that wide corner.

As impressive as this is, I still cannot get over and will never lose respect for the Isle of Man TT races and hope one day I can see them in person. Maybe even ride that legendary circuit.
For anyone wondering why it looks like a video game they used ND filters to allow them to lower/control the shutter speed. This gives the picture more motion blur.
they actually used something like reelsmart motion blur to add synthetic motion blur. It explains a lot of the strange artifacts especially around the edges of the visor.

This is so amazing I wasn't sure if it was real or a video game, but the way the sun hits the windscreen at 2:30 and highlights all the scratches, no way they programmed that level of detail in a video game. Just amazing, and I've ridden bikes for 30 years.

Who the frick wants to play a video game - as a rider of 44 yrs - my father's words (he a rider of many years) still ring in my ears! "Riding a motorcycle lad, is the closest thing to flying; on the ground" he was as usual completely correct.... once a person gets that! bug, hooked for life..... He had a 33rpm record of the sounds! of the early motorcycles, entered into the isle of man TT races; and could name each one.... I miss him😔 .. he tried to get onto the back with me my on my Harley, wearing a flat cap turned backwards; as he did on a vincent 1000cc black shadow as a much younger man... a legend. Ride on boys..
I always compared riding to open cockpit biplanes. I even got a white silk scarf for the neck chafing cause I’m constantly looking for bandits as in stupid car drivers. 🤣.

DUDE! I honestly do believe you in that this is real footage but I swear at first I thought this was a video game, albeit a really good one with great raytracing hahah. something about the blur the camera is adding to some of the riders looks like in game motion blur and that head up view is hard to believe! wild camera angle...looks great! makes me want to play Isle of mann TT 3 or whatever is out now

@murtanio you should ask Lukas to get some device that monitors basic metrics like speed so that it could be displayed on the screen while recording, would be really nice optimization. But still this POV is incredible, so thank you to whoever facilitated this, it's amazing to witness on a 4k monitor.
Actually you know what I'm very confident AI could be trained on both the audio of the gear / motor + the video visual to guess the speed at any given moment with 90 - 99% accuracy with enough data. Sounds like a cheaper, faster alternative with 0 dependencies upon the solution itself. Time to go to work. Bye for now.

When the video ended I realized I was holding my breath and had to hyperventilate to stay alive. That was amazing and all too short.
