Awesome concept. It is very bad that only 4 brands accepted the challenge. I’d like to see all the major brands compared, including f-one, core, Duotone. And reedin too.

@@sukaykiter could be that retail price is that high but everytime I check they give a 40-50% discount. So it would be interesting to see if this is due to lower quality/man fact cost or due to business model (direct sale to end customer)
You should add an average Joe tester alongside the pro. I reckon feedback would be more applicable to the wider community
Watching Youri is like "I can do backroll but I wish I could do this with that amount of steez and control" 😂 Absolute joy to watch him riding and talking about kites. Super excited for next episodes.

nice concept! I would really love to see the F-One Bandit in there as they always market that kite as the ultimate one fits all freeride kite. would be interesting if it holds up against Youri's taste of freeride ;-)

You need try a RPM top understand what Yuri Zoon likes to ride. I rode Bandit for 10+ years and I really didnt like RPM... I dont think it will fit with his riding/style

I remember when I tried the Enduro, the difference when changing bridle setup was massive. Kite goes from wrist breaker to rubbery soft bar feel. It's fair tho that it was tested on factory settings. Bring on the Pivot

This is not unlike a blind fine wine tasting, so both the class of the thing being examined and the style/expertise of the examiner must be carefully and intelligently adjudged. I thought all the judges were trying not to be too insulting, which is understandable. But the price, with respect, was blandness. JK

F-one Bandit
[SPOILER ALERT] As soon as you change 1 thing from a kite it flies completely different to the stock models. Changing that OR Aluulaa to dacron makes it a completely different kite than the original kite. Not to forget the canopy materials & Dacron used makes a HUGE difference. Also Stiffness from the canopy material which is regulated trough coating etc.
It's simply not possible to test the kites as blank as they did here. Something as small as the bridle line used can make a HUGE difference.
The only blank testing you can do without actually compromising too much of a kites actual performance is taking off the print. That's about it :)

We did 1 kite which had only different canopy material (same production batch, same dacron, same bridle, same bladders) and it flew TERRIBLE.
Maybe ask friend of the Show Dave Kay what he says on it. he's the Jedi of materials as you know haha

I don't understand your criticism of the test.? That's exactly the point - the manufacturers decide the build materials, take off the graphics, and submit it for testing...

Don't want to protect ozone, but the endure should be ridden on 25m lines. Doesn't it matter in this case?

Great concept, but the Ozones are flown on a Sk99 and a thicker bar due to the fact it has no pulleys, they fly bad on the sentry bar, also looks like you had one of the bridle points attached at freeride and one freestyle ooops
Looked like the Enduro pulled harder in the loop though.
Great stuff, and quite fun to see a world champ fuck about with basic tricks in moderate winds... would have been nice though if he threw in a casual double pass just at the end though ;)

But wow, Adrian is a big dude. He tower Yuri by quite a margin.
As for the freeride kite have in future test : Evo, Pivot, Supermodel, RS, Rally GT, Bandit, Takoon Furia, Moto, Nexus. Main problem will be the bar for the Duotone, Core and F-One as they use a high Y for the front line.

The enduro feels more like an unhooked-focused kite like the RPM/Dice than a freeride kite. I think the Catalyst is more Ozone's freeride kite, but I imagine they chose which kite they wanted you to test so it's on them.
Catalyst is a beginner friendly kite. It can do everything, but on "easy mode" - it will not jump as high, but you will lend your first unhooked kiteloop first try.

Yeah all kites flew on a low V. We have splitters to adjust if necessary.

As a consumer, genuine thanks to the brands for sticking their neck out and participating. Shows you back your product and are open to feedback. On that point, Youri’s feedback is exactly what made me buy an Ozone! Looking forward to seeing this evolve with different riders at different levels in different conditions 🤙🏾

This concept is really an awesome idea, it would be great to extend it to other kites and other pro-riders ! I agree that the addition of a few "cheaper kites" (Switch Kite, Takoon) could be interesting as, these kite suffer from bad press (I feel mostly related to price and direct sale model), so it would be great to see what pro have to say about them (as they usualy have limited pro-riders)

I guess for control in the variables you used the same bar for every kite, but would it make a difference if you used the factory bar for each kite?
Just curious. I know many bars work great with other kites than the factory brand but just curious how these results would fair if every kite was tested with factory bar.
On another note, I think its funny how a brand will tell you to only use their bar on their kites in most cases but I am always reconfiguring bars for different kites.
I recently put a North Navigator bar on one of my old North Neos. The kite felt brand new and even though Vectors are super high on the trust bars for Duotone and old North kites, The Navigator outperformed my Trust bar by a long shot. no comparison, it isn't even close. My old North Neos, felt brand new, and they never performed or felt like that with my Trust bar even when they were newer. My Neos are circa 2015-2016 in my quiver. I fly my kites till they die, just like the cars I buy, Drive them till they are dead.
So I only ask my original question because I know that the bar I put on my kites makes a huge difference, and in my case the North Navigator made my North and Duotone Neos fly better than they ever have.
I would double check that the bars you are using are totally right for the kites
