    Excellent content and instruction as always. Even in your "beginner" tricks, I learn little, but important things. Your instruction is the best on TH-cam, don't change a thing.

    Really digging into a lot of your lessons, great info in every video! I’m starting to apply some techniques on the water. Good luck with KOTA! Bring home the crown!

      Great to hear that you're enjoying the content! KOTA was great, but I'm not competing any more. This time I was there to film the CORE guys and show support for them. Giel is still in, so I hope he takes the crown!

      @@stevenakkersdijk personally I think Giel won that heat, he landed all his tricks, they were extremely technical and well executed, bulando got more height but the tricks were not as impressive imho.

    What a great tutorial!
    I was wondering what to do next? There’s many videos out there taking kitesurfers from their first jumps into the back - and front Rolls.. what would be the next thing to go for after learning the variations of these tricks?
    Thanks again for all the wonderful content!

    Nice to see you are back. One question, will you choose XR7 or Nexus 3 for 13,5 size? Thanks

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh yes, happy to be back. All depends on you riding style. I'm an allrounder that also loves the waves and foil, so the Nexus fits me better. But if you're focussed at twintip riding (which you most likely are with a 13.5m kite) you'll love the power that the XR provides. I have a 15m XR and it's awesome!!!

    Hey Steven, leuke video. Ik vroeg mij af hoe je de slack creëert om de bar voor jezelf van kant te wisselen (zoals in de introductie). Is dit door hard naar de kite te varen na de landing?

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jack
      Je kan dat inderdaad doen door met veel snelheid in een downwind richting te landen. Succes er mee 😉

      XR6 is an awesome kite to learn new tricks. Have fun

  • @mattchili2103
    @mattchili2103 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Steven, thanks for the great video as usual. When you say sheeting the bar out makes sense from 8m+ jumps, you refer to heli loops only, right? (A tutorial on this one would be awesome as well) :-)

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Matt, that's exactly what the sheeting out is good for. Kite positioning before the downloop (also knows as heli loop)
      For sure a video I would like to create

    What's the name of the trick around 3:46? It's where you look like you're "hovering" with your back to the water going one direction and then like a slingshot effect back in the original direction? (minus the landing backwards part, I see people landing standard) Thanks! :)

      It's an amazing trip! I do agree that it's pricey, but any boat trip with limited space will have a price like that unfortunately. One of the downsides from #boatlife

    On your first jump it looks like you stand up a little and release your edge just before you edge really hard upwind. Am I seeing things that you didn't do?
    Your jumps look so damn easy. I'm having a hard time keeping my edge.

    • @stevenakkersdijk
      @stevenakkersdijk  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have a good eye 😉 Once you're very powered up you can release your edge a little bit to edge even harder. That's something which will come with time.
