      Hello Nathan, Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate that! The carbs on the Goldwing 1500 aren’t really that difficult to rebuild, removing and installing is a different story. Not hard, just time consuming. If I can give you a tip, I would buy a good quality kit to rebuild the carbs as it seems that not all of o rings and such are the right size. One of the jets I used broke when installing so I reused the old one. I wish Honda still sold kits for these carbs. Good luck and God bless!

    Good job I have a 1998 and am anticipating having to do the carbs at some point, ok so far, I enjoyed your video!

      Thanks Harold! It really isn’t that bad if you’ve done carbs before, being my first goldwing I probably made it look harder than it actually was. Hopefully yours will stay good for a long time

    do you think installing coolant hose extensions would work easier to install?

    • @herbiesgarage681
      @herbiesgarage681  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Probably so, as long as they don’t kink. Some vacuum hoses could stand to be a bit longer too, in my opinion 😊

    Do you or can you show how the slides come apart and go back together? Also my 97's Accelerator pump either isn't working or plugged. Dou you have any advice on clearing the nozzles?

      This is the video I did on the slides th-cam.com/video/AsY6mRGtPaM/w-d-xo.html I would buy a new diaphragm for the accelerator pump if it was me, a good made in Japan one, the nozzles would be tiny, I have cleaned ports in carbs with small diameter fishing string before, it's fairly stiff and doesn't damage or scratch the inside.

      @@herbiesgarage681 Thanks for the reply, I found that video after I sent the comment. One other question; Can I remove the top plate where the nozzles are without removing the carburetor bundle to try to clean the nozzles and to see if gas is being moved through the accelerator pump? I spent 1,200.00 at a local shop to have them rebuilt after a long term improper storage. Now since the rebuild the bike won't idle without being half choked and the Accelerator pump not functioning.

      @@jeffpayne2261 the accelerator pumps function is to come on at immediate throttle input to help the pilot jet get fuel in quickly so the bike won’t stumble. A poor idle probably won’t be found in the accelerator pump. I would first try turning the idle speed up until it’s idling 800-850 rpm and see if that resolves it. If it doesn’t unfortunately you might have to revisit the pilot circuit or even worse you may have a vacuum leak. There’s so many vacuum lines, trying to track that down could be a task, hopefully it’s not that. If the pump isn’t squirting at all on either nozzle I would find that strange. I’m not sure about taking the top off. Anything pump related I think I would take the carb out but that’s just me

    Do you sync the carbs on these 1500s?
    Good work 👊👊

      Hi Les, yes you can sync them with the carbs on the bike if you wish to. Here’s my video on it; How to synchronize the carbs on a 97 GL1500 Honda Goldwing
