- “No matter where you are in the Church of Jesus Christ, you now have access to an affordable, high-quality, spiritually based education”
Nearly 150,000 students are filling the universities and colleges of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this year - more than any previous year. And, with the recent announcement of three-year online degrees soon to be offered through BYU-Pathway, online options are expanding.
“There is tremendous momentum in the Church Educational System (CES),” said CES Commissioner Elder Clark G. Gilbert. “We see deeper engagement, higher relevance and a real focus of students coming out of the pandemic to want to be together and to gather all across the Church. … We see a unity across [CES] around our purpose to develop disciples of Jesus Christ.”
A shorter version of this video will be included in the October 2023 edition of the World Report, which will be published on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The full news program will be available in traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
I am so grateful for the BYU Pathway program. It is life changing! It is absolutely divinely inspired.
Education is important!
Absolutely amazing
We need this in today's world. So thankful for this.
☺
As a professional who is a direct recipient of the amazing, quality education found within the Church Educational System, this is spectacular news! The world needs more working professionals who have been instructed and blessed by CES.
I love the work to make education more accessible. Having good education is so important. The focus on the Gospel of Jesus Christ helps us learn.
Love the options available to those in the Church. Such a blessing to so many
I'm thankful that Elder Clerk G. Gilbert is very clearly aware of the worldly and secular agenda growing in the world today, especially in academia, and that the mission of BYU and CES schools are to stand in the face of those growing agenda.
"BYU . . . must continue to resist false fashions in education, staying with those basic principles that have proved right and have guided good men and women and good universities over the centuries." - President Oaks, Going Forward in the Second Century, 2022 BYU devotional.
Gracias…
WONDERFUL
Love this
This is incredible.
Thank you
This is great (as long as they continue to thwart the secular cultural indoctrination).
I'd love to see offerings for education in traditional trades: electrical, plumbing, welding, construction, etc.
I love to see things like this.... I'm currently taking my first certificate course on Ensign college and I must confess I love it so much.
What a hopeful and uplifting overview of the Church Educational System! Thank you! 😊

💛...
I understand that the President and Quorum have spoken about and against some matters being taught and hope they are successful.
Amazing
CES is incredible
Love this so much! I'm a grateful enrollee in BYU Pathway, and currently online at BYU-I. I'll be forever grateful for this inspired program!
This is great! It would be nice to have an education system for K-12
Incredible mission and work moving forward! Very well put together video.
All of the BYU’s are incredible and a vital piece of the Lord’s mission to grow individuals as disciples and students.
I also feel sad and disappointed Ensign College was not featured as part of this CES presentation, as both an alumni and current student, Ensign College (formerly LDS Business College) holds a sacred place in my heart and life and as a flagship for technical skills in CES, I personally would have enjoyed and loved to also have had President Bruce C. Kusch interviewed to discuss the marketable skills, project based immersive learning model at Ensign College and the nearly 40% international student body creates a diverse and engaging community of students and saints.
It's unfortunate that Ensign College was not specifically mentioned in this video like the rest of the institutions. There are great teachers and students working hard at Ensign College as well.
I would love if there were more physical locations.
I would love to take part in the byu pathway program but sadly the meeting house portion is not offered where I live so I cannot take part in it :(
What meetinghouse portion? I’m pretty sure the gatherings can be done virtually.
So when will Southern Virginia University be announced as BYU-Virginia?
Southern Virginia is now and never was a part of the church education system. It’s a privately owned school developed by some LDS businessmen. Using BYU as a model. It. An be a good place to complete you general education classes and then transfer. Or complete business education. It’s private and not church owned.
Too bad you're neglecting the trades, which are so needed and desperately running out of workers; these are high paying jobs that can support families too.
Trades are Extremely Important and many as essential as the best profession.
