A Look at the New Helena Montana Temple

  • In the past five years alone, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced the construction of 133 new houses of the Lord. That’s nearly double the number the faith had in operation (159) in April 2018, when President Russell M. Nelson first announced new temples at general conference.
    This prolific and unprecedented season of temple announcements has moved Church leaders to consider ways to expedite construction while maintaining the same high-quality craftsmanship.
    “The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles have often asked the Lord if there are better ways to take the blessings of the temple to His faithful children,” President Nelson has said.
    “We can’t take five or 10 years to build a temple now and keep up with President Nelson,” added W. Christopher Waddell, First Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric - the group overseeing President Nelson’s temple-building vision. “[We must find] ways to be more productive, to use sacred resources more effectively, to perhaps change the way we do things in some ways. We can’t build the Salt Lake Temple all over the world.”
    One path being considered for select temples is the modular construction employed by BLOX, a company based in Alabama. BLOX is helping the Church of Jesus Christ pilot a faster way of building temples - beginning with the Helena Montana Temple, which opens to the public on Thursday, May 18, 2023.

    Cardston Temple is 100 yrs old!! People visit Cardston and just feel something amazing. They cannot explain why they feel this way. This feeling exists wherever a temple is built and enhances every locale in similar fashion.

    🌷🕊️The Temple brings us closer to the Lord as we make covenants with him by being obedient to the ordenances! I feel the urgency of many Temples being built, like the Prophet! Evil is rising in our world 🌎 and the Temples help combat the evil!🙏🏻💜🕊️🌎

    Please don’t delete but answer the question. When does God enter the temple? I’m honestly curious. Do you invite him in?

    • @churchnewsroom
      @churchnewsroom  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi, thank you for your question. We consider temples to be literal houses of the Lord. They are a place of holiness and peace separate from the world, and only members of the Church in good standing are allowed to enter. However, visitors of all ages are invited to a free public open house held for most new or renovated temples, so be sure to be watching for temple open houses near you. You and others interested can also learn more about temples, and even watch a virtual tour of the interior of a new Latter-day Saint temple in Rome, at the link below: newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.org/topic/temples

    Are we sacrificing the “best of the best” quality in God’s temple for getting numbers of temples? There is enough money given by the saints…why fabricated. Just seems reduced or belittled method in our “for God” purpose of temple.

    You forgot to show it's dead in the middle of a neighborhood and the construction has been nothing but obnoxious for everyone living in the vicinity. Y'all park in front of our driveways and mail boxes, and bring constant traffic every single day with no regards to other drivers or people living here.

      I am so sorry! I am sure it has been a pain to have the construction going on. I hope that pain eases as construction has finished

    • @milesmoore8705
      @milesmoore8705 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry, construction takes time. It was approved to be built there. There are always going to be challenges. I would suggest take a plate of cookies to the workers and ask them not to park to close to a driveway, etc. Streets are legal to park along but as soon as the temple is dine being built it will have its own parking lot.

      You know this typically happens with any construction right? This process is twice as fast as typical construction, so in the end it is less intrusive.
