  • Have you ever wondered why the Salt Lake Temple is undergoing an extensive renovation? The primary reason is to fit this historic structure with a seismic upgrade that enables it to withstand high-magnitude earthquakes. Watch this comprehensive video (long version) that shows the meticulous effort and precise process taken by skilled engineers and tradespeople to complete the work.

That is awesome! I love how the church is continuing what Brigham Young said in 1863, "“I want to see [the] temple built in a manner that it will endure through the millennium."

Just as the temple is under renovation, i too am under spiritual renovation to withstand the tremors and shaking of the adversary in these last days. The stabilizing grace of our Heavenly Father will always sustain those who seek to do his will. Gods name be praised forever and ever. Peace and blessings 🙏🏽

That's amazing. As an engineer, this blows me away that they can do this with an existing structure. I'm pretty sure whoever came up with this remodel design was inspired of God.

Did you see how they Constructed the Provo City Center Temple? That Temple was once the Provo Tabernacle in Downtown Provo Utah. My Relatives the Jacosen's were the owners of the Construction Company that made the City Center Temple what it is today with the help off many other's. I think they're also the ones doing the Salt Lake Temple .

@@peterjohnson7710 I believe the engineers and construction company had to dig out from underneath the former Provo Tabernacle and put it up on stilts to rebuild the foundation. Is that correct? If so, that’s another example of inspired genius at work.

There’s so many connections we can make from this to our own spiritual foundations. Something that struck me is the way the earth is supported from the sides to stop the weight of the building from smooshing it out. How many times have friends and family supported me and stopped the “earth” from coming out from under me when my own spiritual foundation renovations were taking place?

I feel like if you consider the sacrifices made by the Utah pioneers in order to build this temple as a percentage of their wealth and capabilities, that this, though enormously expensive and time consuming even by today's standards, pales in comparison to their sacrifices to build that temple in the first place.

Thank you for sharing the work and progress being made on our behalf for this Beautiful and Iconic Temple!
I loved learning about the important steps being made to reinforce the Salt Lake Temple. I didn't realize just how detailed and involved it would be to preserve a structure as Sacred as this one, but I'm so grateful for all those who are taking extremely careful measures to ensure its survival not only in its eventual outcome and possible future events, but also During the process.
It reminds me of a thought that I had during your shorter video version of this. It reminded me that there's also a lot of hidden processes that We each undergo as we strive to follow Jesus Christ and live His Gospel.
Although people might not see our individual Spiritual, Foundational Renovations, we can still choose to upgrade our Spiritual Seismic capacity by building our Spiritual Foundation on Jesus Christ, the Chief Cornerstone and Bedrock of our Faith.
As we choose to do so, with Christ's Secure Foundation, we can withstand the Spiritual tremors - or even earthquakes, that Satan and his followers use, as they seek to destroy.

Having lived through 2 major earthquakes in southern California and seeing massive devastation, it's comforting to know that we are preparing to avoid such destruction. Incredible!

How we can survive earthquakes is the same way:
1- base isolation - a foundation that lets the Earth move and not the building. Steadfast and immovable.
2- structural reinforcement - Being able to move as ONE with God and with the Saints with Him
3- footings - the rods, like the rod of Iron or the word of God
4- cylindrical beams and wall - having supports that can handle the weight placed on it
5- lower foundation - firm foundation in Christ and not our own ability. It must be flexible and willing to move as the Lord wills, not stiff.
6- structural integrity - honesty and uprightness before God, making sure that our top is connected to our roots.

There is more to learn from this then what is physical. There are soooo many spiritual things to learn too. Having a firm foundation that we are regularly reinforcing through daily repentance, prayer and scripture study (specifically in the Book of Mormon as President Nelson has said ) Knowing our ancestors helps us reinforce or build our foundation adding their strength. Doing their work allows them to be able to help us spread more strength, knowledge/light throughout our whole structure in angles towards different weaknesses/challenges and trials. This helps us to gain confidence and spreads to the top (The future and Eternity). Helping us to make it through the days ahead and be focused on our Savior. To watch and look forward with great excitement and anticipation for His Second Coming with our fellow Christians as we serve, help and lift each other and unify in the Body of Christ as Believers. Can I get an Amen?! 😉🌍🌎🤟🥰
