The part that got me was how he reacted to the story of Futaba's mother. She committed suicide in front of Futaba, and Phil's reaction was to crack jokes and laugh like a hyena. And he wonders why people think he's a piece of shit.
My father is playing this game while resting after a knee surgery. He's in his late 50s, he's never played a Persona game (or a JRPG made after 1984), and he's still better than Phil. His prescribed pain meds even made his commentary funnier than Phil's, and he's a lot quicker on the take too.

Belphegor would be a great demon form for his considering how much deeply, achingly unfunny scatological jokes spew out of him. In combat no doubt he'd also have awful musical breakdowns as an attack, and there'd be periods during where he'll fumble around blind until his viewers manage to corral him into the right direction.
I bet Phil's treasure would be the trophy he got the one single time he won a pro street fighter tournament (by playing a version of the game nobody but him was familiar with, naturally). That seems to one of the things that he falls back on whenever he's confronted on his crapness and can't get out using "bugged game mechanics" or "netcode" or "lag" or "How was I supposed to know?"

I find it stupid because it doesn't slow it down at all, it just prevents people without capture cards from showing parts of the game. As far as the preventing spoilers thing goes, tough shit bro. When you make a story driven game, random people online screaming spoilers comes with the territory of making a game of that nature. This goes for basically any other medium: books, movies or whatever. If you have a problem with people spoiling the story, then don't make the story the focus. I don't think that is exactly rocket science.

Andromeda was fine. Not nearly as good as the original trilogy but it was never going to live up to it even before the development troubles started.

Nah it wasn't. The gameplay was ok besides the bugs and glitches. The visuals either looked PS2 levels or PS4 levels with incredible amounts of stunted animations. The writing and VAing was deviantart tier which is the worst part since those two are the main reason why the original trilogy was so good. I can't say I felt like there was any major QoL improvements besides stream lining the planet searching system a bit but even that sucked.
If Andromeda came out as its own IP it would receive worse reviews than what it got, but people would be more forgiving since it would have been the first step in the a new series. That game has no right having a 72 metacritic, I can't say I would give Andromeda more than a 4/10 but I would also only give mass effect 2 about an 8.5/10 personally.

Nice to see that based Atlus struck once again. He actually didn't follow most of the rules published by them. Phil even said that he is going to show everything because he paid for the game and has the right to. Him showing specific spoilers (which was forbidden), constantly insulting Atlus (even insulting them with the group name) and splitting everything into short parts to get the most money out of it justified them ending the playthrough for him. Phil literally showed everything Atlus asked people not to.
I skipped randomly to the okumira dungeon and I literally screamed how the fuck is he only level 39 and why is he not using stealth to get the drop on shadows. This was my first persona game and I did way better
I'm on that part actually, (just cleared the way to the treasure on two days.) and I'm currently like level 42 or 43 with a lot of variety of Personas with all kind of abilities, and it was more easy since Haru has the strongest psy attack.
But yeah, i feel you, this was horrible to watch, the way so careless of him and doesn't giving a shit about the story or background from the Phantom Thieves members just fucked me a lot, since this is one of the Persona's game with more deeply and character development both for the MC (Joker. ) and the co-protagonists it's just pissing af how much he reuined all that with his "Khality Khamentary."

The thinking is that it's probably kinda the reverse of what the teacher said there: namely, that the first half of the 20th century was really the only time period where people dreamed in black-and-white. The issue, though, is that there's no way to test that nowadays. I mean, unless you have a time machine, where do you plan to find someone living in the 19th century (which is what would be required to remove that confounding variable of TV)? And frankly, the philosophy of science says we shouldn't just make such assumptions. That's why the way the teacher said it makes sense: simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occam%27s_razor . In short, since dream research is focused more on the here-and-now (it's more about what *our* sleep patterns are like than what our ancestors were like), it's simpler to just say it like he did.
As a huge Persona fan, this made me cringe so bad. It's like watching someone systematically destroy everything you love about these games.

This game, especially the opening dungeon, deals with so many raw and terrible subjects, and just. It really exposes the kind of person DSP is, and turns my stomach way more than any [can't open the map].

Yeah, oftentimes, when you choose a wrong answer in those bits, the creature's reply gives a hint as to what the right answer would've been! But since Phil just skips them, that bone the writers throw just sails right over his head.
Also, aren't there quite a few Confidant abilities that help with those parts?
Not to mention if he paid attention to his choices he would easily have done the recruitment correctly the next time he tried. There were plenty of times I failed first time but got them on the second or third attempt.

Even though Phil didn't use the network (and when he does he still picked the wrong answer), the picture used was the Preistess Arcana, the same confidant that Makoto is. With her Persona being named Johanna. Also, Joan of Arc is rarely depicted in a dress in an art piece.

Well, he barely did on Persona 4 (Almost a rage quit like the hilarious Persona 3 incident. LOL) and as we know, he rage quited 3 on easy, sooo, that only leaves to Persona 4 on a tryhard way. (And playing the game on easy too btw.)
DSP claiming that he likes the games is obviously a lie. I have seen what it's like when someone loves a game with all his heart. A certain LP'er test played Persona 3 multiple times just to make sure his project turned out good. He tackles all battles and social links with tactics and finesses. His videos are full of interesting information and commentaries on its plot, characters, and symbolism. On top of it all he did everything for free. DSP has nothing on him.

One of the most annoying things about Phil playing Persona games is how he flips out whenever an attack misses. This isn't Final Fantasy where spells have 100% accuracy, they can miss. Spells have never been 100% accurate in any SMT game and still EVERY TIME he misses he flips out like it's impossible for his attacks to miss.

phils fucking save scumming at the end pissed me right off. its the way he did it, not because.
doesn't do the smart thing and make a backup save before he makes a decision and pressed the LOAD GAME button instead he exits the game entirely. like he did it in the least efficient manner

It's insanely impressive that you can tell how little he interacts with other people by his inability to recruit any of the personas. You may fail your first few, but once you get it down, there's a "flow" to the conversations that you can kinda follow.
He's using Izanagi at Kamoshida palace? What's the point of playing on Normal then? lol
Yeap, he basically cheated his way through the game with the DLC'S Personas, and even so, he couldn't level his party properly, when he should be a few levels above the normal players since he had the DLC.

I cant believe how bad he was with trying to recruit personas.
He really needs to learn how to pay attention but nah he's too busy trying to be funny with humor that i dont think a child would laugh at, why did he continue with this series? It looked like he didn't enjoy the other ones and he doesn't even try to learn the damn game. The game shows you how to sneak and he never uses it and it tells him not to run cause shadows will hear him and he'll get caught. All of the ambushes could have been avoided if he.did.not.run.
Dont you know how hard it is to pay attention to tutorials? We cant expect his extra tiny baby brain to comprehend.

This game is almost a point and click adventure and he manages to fuck it up.
