    Great video. I have just changed the matrix on Golf Gti 7.5. The glovebox was cheeky to remove. Needed to remove Infotainment as screw hiding behind that. Used 225mm extension to reach.
    My matrix was easier to remove. Had to remove blower fan though - only held on with 3 screws and some clips.
    Overall job took 6 hours. Car is toasty hot now. Initial problem was drivers side was cold, passenger side warm but not hot.
    Thanks for video. This was so helpful.
    Other thing I had problem with was fault codes after reconnecting the battery. They disappeared when I took the car a test drive.

    Great video and I managed to do mine.
    Some additional tips would be to..
    1. Disconnect the hoses where they go in the firewall, this allows a little more movement gor the pipes.
    2. Lube up the new seals with silicone lubricant.
    3. Replace the bolts on the clamps with longer ones, mskes it much easier to have them in place.
    4. I used a large plastic coated tyre lever to move the pipes, it gives leavarege and doesnt damGe the pipes.
    I would rather be force fed broken glass than do this again, but good luck to those who give it a go.

    Did you drain the coolant before you started the job?

    • @whatsdavedone104
      @whatsdavedone104  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, even if you drain the coolant there would still be coolant in the matrix when you remove it....just remember to top the coolant back up to replace what's lost when removing.

      I’ve just been trying to put the new core in now but I’ve had to leave it for the night otherwise I’d smash the car up I’m that p*ssed off with it. I did the heater core on my wife’s 14 plate A3 and that was really easy. Back to the golf it’s strange how the old matrix doesn’t have seals in the core itself, only the ones on the pipes.

    • @whatsdavedone104
      @whatsdavedone104  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      More likely an issue with heater matrix than the radiator, It's probably starting to block, only heating at top and remains cold at bottom due to blockage

      my golf VI cold air comes out on the passenger side and normal air comes out on the passenger side, I tried to run a diagnosis and everything turned out fine, the motors and probes are fine, can the internal passenger compartment radiator be used? mine is dual zone thanks touching the radiator pipes makes the inlet and outlet hot
