You want the strings to be tight as that counterbalances the window so it's easy to open upwards. As far as the bowing that seems to Definitely be a Manufacture defect.
That's a shame. They make some of the best looking vinyl windows in my opinion with more glass area than average, but all these quality control issues make me hesitate to choose them.
So I have the same windows and the one side was uneven it has more loose string I got the balance out But now I can't get the Spring to re attach to the string.And the metal bracket inside the balance at the same time and pulling on thpe Spring with pliers.Or whatever I cant get it to move like it's too stiff These windows fucking suck
Those would be balances. I’m sure if you call JW and explain the problem they can help you.. seems like a worker may not have been paying attention when putting the balances in.
Yes that is the exact reason. There's two different balances. And yeah I would definitely complain. I work there. I can't believe I'm watching this

ALL my jeldwen were a bad purchase, 7 years old, the worst is my bedroom window, can not open it.
