Sweet build ,I'm liking the unusually bright colour, their very alien.
You think it was too dark, I think it was perfect! And this is very setting-agnostic, this would work in fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, pulp and 40k, and with some justification it could even work in modern too!

To be honest, I don't think it's too dark! =) But I guess it's all up to personal preferences. Love these crazy and colorful terrain pieces, well done! =)
